Tokyo Revengers Plot/Storyline

The Start of a Time Leap Story
At the beginning of the series (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1), the protagonist, Takemichi Hanagaki, was shocked to find out that his ex-girlfriend in middle school, Hinata Tachibana was found dead along with her brother, Naoto Tachibana, due to them being caught up in a violent brawl with the Tokyo Manji Gang. After this, so many happened just in chapter 1 that this needs to be divided into parts.
After 3 months, Takemichi was suddenly pushed into the rails while he was trying to board the train. During this final moment, he remembered not his family nor friends, but Hinata Tachibana. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.12)
For better or for worse, he found himself not as a soul but as someone who is younger than he is and portrays what he was during his peak in Grade School- his grade 2 days- a delinquent. With the sudden chain of events, he found himself confused but slowly came to full terms with what had happened, he was sent back in time, exactly 12 years in the past. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.16)

He was with his middle school pals, Makoto, Yamagishi, Takuya, and their leader, Akkun. Takemichi described all the details of these old friends of his in some of the panels in the chapter. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.15)
After a trip down memory lane, he eventually realized the situation he is now in, after leaping in time. Together with his old friends, he is about to go and have a fight with the second year of Shibuya Middle. They had their share of confidence due to Takemichi supposedly telling them that his cousin is the leader of Shibuya Middle. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.18)
This was quickly destroyed after they saw that Masaru (Takemichi’s cousin) is not really the leader and more of a gofer (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.28). His questioning (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.21) was quickly turned into certainty, as he remembered that he was about to get beaten by the third year of Shibuya Middle. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.29) Guess what? They were beaten to a pulp. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.30)

The Plan of Takemichi and Naoto
He contemplated his life (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.32) and continued screaming at the top of his lungs whether god, at this point, is just telling him that his life sucked. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.33)
Eventually, as his realizations kept pouring in, he suddenly wanted to see for himself what Hinata Tachibana looks like again (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.36). He ran to her apartment and he was able to see her again, making him cry (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.40).
They talked for a while and later on, he left. He goes to the park and sits on one of the swings until he hears a group of kids being loud while trying to take the money of a kid (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.45). Takemichi had enough of it and decided to threaten to kill them if they don’t stop being noisy (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.48); coincidentally, the kid he “saved” is Naoto Tachibana, the little brother of his girlfriend, Hinata (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.55).

The main character ended up revealing that he came from the future and that Naoto’s sister will die 12 years after this current timeline (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.53); that he must remember to protect his sister (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.55). They decided to seal the deal with a handshake that abruptly sent him back to his original timeline (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.57).
However, this is not the exact same as the timeline at the very beginning of the story. The difference? Naoto survived and became a detective after Takemichi leaped through time (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.60) and gave him a warning (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.61). The unfortunate thing is that Hinata still died and it is now their mission to change the current timeline, for Hinata to be alive (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 1 pg.64).
This pretty much sums up the entirety of chapter 1 of the manga. It is packed with information and characters but it was able to proceed with appropriate pacing. Below this would be spoiler territory so be warned!

The First Appearance of “Invincible Mikey”
After talking about their plan of action, the two shook hands again for Takemichi to leap through time again. With this, he traveled through time and arrived again in the past timeline. However, he woke up in a fight, on July 6, 2005 (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 2 pg.80).
He lost the fight and was beaten further by Kiyomizu Masataka, the leader of Shibuya Middle. This discouraged Takemichi but only for a brief period of time, as he realized what he was truly fighting for, together with his good friends (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 2 pg.105).
The next day, Takemichi quickly took the spotlight from his other friends as he challenged Kiyomasa to a one-on-one fight (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 2: pg.111), which he dubbed as “the king vs. the slave (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 2 pg.110).”

With no surprise, he was punched, kicked, and beaten up so badly that his friends thought he was about to die (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 3 pg.122). However, despite this, he persevered and declared that he will not be giving up and that he can only lose the fight if he dies (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 3 pg.125).
Before this happens, Manjiro Sano, also known as “Mikey,” arrived at the scene and he was introduced to be the president of the whole Tokyo Manji Gang. Kiyomasa was kicked by the vice-president of Toman for not bowing well to the president. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 3)
Later on, he was also kicked and punched in the face by Mikey for the reason of organizing the fighting competition. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 4)

Mikey proceeded to go to the protagonist and ask for his name; leading to him being declared as now, one of his lackeys. The leader of Toman and his vice dropped by the school of Takemichi; the former was slapped by Hina (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 4) but the problem was quickly resolved after Takemichi stepped in (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 5).
Later on the day, both he and Hina decided to go and see the fireworks together. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 6)

Moebius’ Declaration of War
In chapter 8, this is when Takemichi learned something: that changing the past even in a minimal way can result in drastic events happening in the future. He got back to his original timeline and found Akkun (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 7), who informed him that Toman had fallen due to Draken’s death that affected Mikey (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 8).
Then, Akkun immediately committed suicide in front of him by jumping on top of a building, (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 8). After going back into the past again, he suddenly ended up with a girl whom he described as a “big-breasted, half-naked girl (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 10).”

When the opportunity presented itself, he chickened out of the scene. But, he immediately was greeted by the same girl again, in a Toman meeting (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 11). Her name was revealed to be Sano Emma and was shown to have an affection for Draken (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 11).
The meeting was about the fight of Toman with Moebius, and that this decisive battle will occur on the upcoming August 3. The problem is this was the day that Draken is supposed to die. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 11)
He tried to stop the fight with Moebius due to all the things that will happen in the future if it continues. However, Osanai Nobutaka arrived declaring war as the 8th president of Mobius. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 14) Unsurprisingly, he was beaten down by Mikey swiftly (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 15).

After waking up in a hospital, Takemichi was informed by Emma that the two pillars of Toman are now in a major conflict: both Mikey and Draken. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 16)
Thankfully, after a show of persuasion by the protagonist himself, he was able to make the two come to full terms with one another. It was then expressed that Mikey wanted to save Pachin as a friend while Draken wanted to honor the sacrifice and resolve that Pachin had when he was about to turn himself in. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 18)

Peh-Yan’s Betrayal
After this, the two combos: Takemichi and Hina, together with Draken and Emma decided to go to the festival (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 19). During this, he found out that Kiyomasa is there and is planning to kill Draken for revenge (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 19), then, Takemichi was found out and he was beaten to a pulp (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 20).
Draken was attacked (even in his blind spots), as orchestrated by Peh-Yan, and is now bleeding with his injuries. Thankfully, Mikey appeared with his CB250T motorbike. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 21)
With the arrival of the de facto leader of Moebius, Shuji Hanma, the two factions decided to go into war together. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 22)

As the two groups clashed together, Mikey’s attention was focused on Peh-Yan, not as an enemy but more like “comrade-in-conflict.” (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 23)
Peh-Yan continues to attack Mikey but the latter shows no counterattacks. Mikey then said that he could be beaten up for as long as he likes; as long as he’s satisfied. Then, he said to him eye-to-eye that Peh-Yan should come back to Toman. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 23)
However, the focus was suddenly shifted to Draken, who was just stabbed by Kiyomasa. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 23)

Despite Takemichi’s panic, Mikey told him that Draken is still alive and that things could still be done. The main character proceeded to carry him and was planning to take him to a hospital but was hindered by Kiyomasa’s group. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 24)
Takemichi fought with Kiyomasa and was able to win by the skin of his teeth. The problem is that it’s Kiyomasa with his “group,” so he was only able to take down one of them. Fortunately, the Mizo Middle Five arrived and were able to technically win. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 27)

The Start of the Toman Saga
After a long confrontation between the two, Hanma decided to leave Mikey and the scene; while declaring that he must prepare for the most badass biker gang in all of the Kanto region, Valhalla. (Tokyo Revengers Manga: Chapter 27)
This is the end of the peace of Toman; the beginning of a regional gang war and the journey of Takemichi as he leaps through time.
