Tokyo Revengers is one of the most popular anime this Spring 2021. It started airing on April 11 and has since gained a lot of attention. The Tokyo Revengers manga started publishing on March 1, 2017 and is still ongoing. Numerous characters have made appearances in the manga but are still not seen in the anime adaptation.

This character list will talk about all the characters that have major contributions to the flow of the Tokyo Revengers’ plot. From Takemichi to Izana, we’ll talk about them all. Without further ado, let’s meet the amazing characters in Tokyo Revengers.
The Tokyo Manji Gang, also known as Toman is under the leadership of Manjiro Sano “Mikey” and Ken Ryuguji “Draken”, Mikey’s best friend and right-hand man. They are the gang that rules Shibuya and have become a notorious criminal organization in the original timeline.

Takemichi Hanagaki
Takemichi Hanagaki is the main protagonist of the Tokyo Revengers series. He traveled back in time and joined the Tokyo Manji Gang so that he could prevent the death of the only person that loved him, Hinata Tachibana. He would later become the 1st Division Captain of the group and have a closer bond with Draken and Mikey.
Takemichi also prevented several disasters and deaths from happening by leaping through time. Later in the series, Takemichi would become the Eleventh President of the Black Dragons, a gang that was number one in Tokyo in the past.

Manjiro Sano “Mikey”
Manjiro Sano, also known as Mikey is the president and one of the founders of the Tokyo Manji Gang. In the original timeline, he is a ruthless leader and made Toman one of the most dangerous criminal organizations.
Mikey has excellent fighting abilities and can take on multiple opponents by himself. Most of his fights end with him winning with just one kick.
Mikey was the one that made Takemichi join the Tokyo Manji Gang when he acknowledged Takemichi as his friend. There are several versions of Mikey across several timelines in the series. Mikey is the pillar of Toman, everything revolves around him, and he is feared and respected by both his enemies and subordinates.

Ken Ryuguji “Draken”
Manji Gang
Ken Ryuguji, also known as Draken is Mikey’s right-hand man, and vice-president, and one of the founders of Toman. He serves as Mikey’s moral compass and helps guide him as his best friend.
Just like Mikey, Draken is also an excellent fighter. He can still keep on fighting after getting hit with a metal rod on the head and even survived a serious injury when he was stabbed. Although, in the original timeline, Draken is dead hence why Toman became evil. He is saved numerous times by Takemichi in several timelines.

Keisuke Baji
Keisuke Baji is the former 1st Division Captain of the Tokyo Manji Gang and is Mikey’s childhood best friend. He would later join Valhalla to make sure that Toman stays safe and on the right path. He deceived both his allies and enemies to ensure the prosperity of Toman and to save his friends.
Baji is also outstanding in fights. He can easily defeat a group of 10 delinquents with just his bare hands. He has sharp senses and will do everything to keep Toman and his friends from harm’s way. He is an individual who loves the rush of adrenaline and can be wild due to his personality.

Chifuyu Matsuno
Chifuyu Matsuno is the vice-captain of the 1st Division and serves as Takemichi’s adviser. He is loyal to Toman and his captain, willing to do anything for them even if it costs his life.
Chifuyu is a cold and composed individual that can think up plans even in high-pressure conditions. Although when needed, he can let his emotions out especially during a fight. Apart from being a level-headed individual, Chifuyu is also a strong fighter and typically hates people who flaunt their strength to look down on others. Chifuyu has a strong moral sense and will stand up for anyone if he deems it correct.

Takashi Mitsuya
Takashi Mitsuya is the captain of the 2nd Division of the Tokyo Manji Gang and one of its founders. He becomes the sunshine in the group as he is always ready to spread positivity.
Takashi also prefers to avoid any fightmodes if possible but is not afraid to join in. Since he becomes the role l for his siblings, he usually displays empathy to everyone even when he first met Takemichi.
Takashi has purple hair and blue eyes as well as a tattoo on his temple that resembles that of Draken but is covered with his hair. As the 2nd Division captain, he also has incredible fighting skills despite his nature.

Hakkai Shiba

Haruki Hayashida “Pah-Chin

Ryohei Hayashi “Peyan”
Ryohei Hayashi or “Peyan” is the Third Division Vice Captain of the Tokyo Manji Gang.
Peyan listens to his heart more than his brain. That’s why he tends to make very rash decisions that prove to be very lethal for the gang itself. Being aggressive and quick to react, Peyan often misunderstands many situations.
Despite his rash nature, Peyan is stronger than he looks. He was able to knockout the “Heavenly King” with a single punch. He’s the vice-captain of the third division of Toman for a reason.

Nahoya Kawata “Smiley”

Nobutaka Osanai
Nobutaka Osanai was the former 8th leader of the group born in 1998 and took over the Shinjuku ward. He wears a red uniform that signifies that he is the leader of Moebius while other members wear white.
Osanai is a veteran fighter and even beat Pah-Chin to a pulp with ease. He would be defeated by Mikey and stabbed by Pah-Chin in the first encounter of the two gangs. In the original timeline, he became a construction worker, just barely holding on to his life.

Shuji Hanma
and later, Valhalla
Shuji Hanma is the temporary leader of Moebius and later, Valhalla. He was also the former captain of the Tokyo Manji Gang’s 6th Division and a former member of Tenjiku. He is a skilled fighter being an executive of the top gangs.
Shuji is called Zombie by Draken as he would not go down even if Draken beat him several times. He is Kisaki’s most trusted ally/tool and always participates in his schemes.

Kisaki Tetta
Kisaki Tetta is the main antagonist of the Tokyo Revengers series. He is the former 3rd Division Captain of the Tokyo Manji Gang, the real leader of Valhalla, and a General Staff Officer in Tenjiku.
Kisaki rose to the top by treating everyone as objects that he could use to become one of the strongest delinquents in Japan. This evil is fueled by his obsession over Hinata Tachibana who he organized the murder of in several timelines when he was being rejected every time by Hinata in every timeline. Kisaki is a very smart individual who doesn’t care about both those above and under him.
Kisaki is the one Takemichi is hunting for as he is also the reason why the Tokyo Manji Gang and Mikey became evil. He is manipulating everything from the shadows.
Valhalla

Kisaki Tetta
Kisaki Tetta acts as Valhalla’s leader in the shadows as he manipulates both the Tokyo Manji Gang and Valhalla which leads to Toman’s corruption.

Shuji Hanma
Kisaki Tetta acts as Valhalla’s leader in the shadows as he manipulates both the Tokyo Manji Gang and Valhalla which leads to Toman’s corruption.

Kazutora Hanemiya
Kazutora Hanemiya is the leader of the anti-Toman group that formed Valhalla. Kazutora was a former founder of the Tokyo Manji Gang and a Number 3 at Valhalla.
Not much is known about this character or why he has so much hatred towards Toman. He has blonde highlights on his hair and a tattoo on his neck. There was only an incident where right before Mikey’s birthday he wanted to steal a new bike for Mikey but accidentally kills the owner which resulted in Toman becoming more and more voilent. Kazutora was then sent to a reform school.
Black Dragons

Taiju Shiba

Taiju Shiba is the former 10th generation leader of the Black Dragons and is the older brother of Hakkai Shiba.
His physique is like a giant and is even taller than Draken. Taiju is a voilent person that enjoys tormenting others with no remorse. He had overwhelming control over the Black Dragons and was considered to be one of the most powerful fighters. Taiju not only boasts excellent prowess in fighting but also is very charismatic leading many to follow him in the Black Dragons. Taiju was able to knock out Mikey bare-handed and was able to quickly wake up from Mikey’s roundhouse kick.

Hajime Kokonoi
Hajime Kokonoi is the former 10th Generation Elite Guard Captain of the Black Dragons and a former 1st Division Toman member.
After losing the love of his life while doing everything he can to save money for her treatments, Hajime became obsessed with earning money through crime. He would eventually become a delinquent that is wanted by many gangs as he was able to provide them a huge amount of earnings. Not only that, but he is also a very capable fighter.

Seishu Inui
Seishu Inui is the former 10th Generation Attack Guard Captain of the Black Dragons and the current Vice-Captain of the Black Dragons under Takemichi.
Inui has been observed to be cold and collected and an excellent fighter. He has a scar on his face which he suffered when their house caught fire in his childhood. Inui is childhood friends with Kokonoi and Kokonoi’s love was his sister who passed away. Under Takemitchi they were shown what compassionate leadership was like.
Tenjiku

Izana Kurokawa
Izana Kurokawa is the President of Tenjiku and the former 8th Generation Leader of the Black Dragons. He is also the younger half-brother of Shinchiro Sano and Mikey’s older half-brother.
Izana ordered Kisaki to murder Mikey’s half-sister and his blood-sister Emma Sano because of his jealousy towards Mikey where Shinchiro wanted Mikey to inherit his gang, not Izana. He is rumored to have god-like senses that made him the strongest member of the Tenjiku gang. When Izana and Mikey fought he was able to keep up but lost after a considerable amount of time.
Izana would be killed by Kisaki with a gun when he tried protecting his fellow Tenjiku member Kakuchou.

Kakuchou
Kakuchou is one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Tenjiku. He is regarded as the strongest fighter by Izana as he was able to beat Angry even in The Crying Blue Ogre mode. After that, he was able to beat 3 executives of Toman with ease.
Kakuchou is also Takemichi’s childhood friend, however, Takemichi forgot about him. He has a scar that resulted in his left eye going blind but despite that, he is very powerful. He is extremely loyal to Izana, even willing to take a bullet for him.

Kanji Mochizuki
Kanji Mochizuki is one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Tenjiku and part of the S62 Generation. He is incredibly strong relying on his brute strength.
In Tenjiku’s fight against Toman, he was able to make Chifuyu fly away with one hit. Continuing on their fight, he was on par with Chifuyu’s abilities, and sometimes he even had the upper hand.

Shion Madarame
Shion Madarame is one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Tenjiku and the former 9th Generation Leader of the Black Dragons.
In their fight against Toman, he was quickly knocked out by Peyan.

Rindo Haitani
Rindo is from the S62 Generation and is a top executive at Tenjiku. He is the younger of Ran Haitani.
In the battle of Toman against Tenjiku he would be beaten up by Angry along with his brother.

Ran Haitani
Ran Haitani is part of the S62 Generation and one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Tenjiku. He is also the older and more famous brother of Rindo Haitani.
Ran Haitani would be beaten along with his brother by Angry.

Yasuhiro Muto
Yasuhiro Muto was the former 5th Division Captain of the Tokyo Manji Gang in which within the 5th Division infighting was allowed and they were given special permission to punish traitors without Mikey’s consent.
Yasuhiro is currently a top executive at Tenjiku and in the fight between Toman and Tenjiku, he would be beaten by Angry along with the Haitani brothers and Kanji Mochizuki.
Kantou Manji Gang

Manjiro Sano
Manjiro Sano led the Kantou Manji Gang as their president during the Era of the 3 Deities (Chapter 208). 2 years after Toman disbanded, the world of delinquency was in chaos and every single gang fought to take control of Tokyo. This was called Tokyo’s Sengoku Period. Manjiro Sano was one of the 3 beasts that brought balance to the area and looked to be invincible once more (Chapter 208).
After he disbanded Toman, believing that it was the best option to ensure that Takemichi and the others’ futures were protected (Chapter 188-189), Mikey was seen defeating an entire gang all by himself. He now wore a new uniform that looked to be a combination of the Black Dragons and Toman’s previous outfits (Chapter 207).

Haruchiyo Sanzu
Haruchiyo Sanzu went with Yasuhiro Muto and joined Tenjiku when the latter betrayed Toman (Chapter 141). He follows his saying that the king is more important than anything else. Sanzu and Mucho went on to fulfill the duties of the 5th Division which was to find traitors within Toman before they joined Tenjiku (Chapter 206).
Sanzu met Mucho again after Mucho was released from the Juvenile Detention Center for the second time. The two went to the site where Tenjiku and Toman fought. Sanzu drew out a sword and slashed Mucho. He then repeated his saying that the king is the most important piece before dumping Mucho’s body in Tokyo Bay (Chapter 206).
Sanzu joined Mikey in the Kantou Manji Gang as its Number 2 member. Along with Kokonoi, the trio went on to control Shibuya Ward and contributed to ending Tokyo’s Sengoku Period (Chapter 208).

Hajime Kokonoi
Hajime Kokonoi joined Tenjiku after he was tortured by Mucho (Chapter 141) and fought his long-time friend, Seishu Inui, during the Kanto Incident (Chapter 157). When Tenjiku eventually lost due to Izana Kurokawa and Kakuchou getting shot by Kisaki, Hajime didn’t stay with the rest of the Tenjiku Executives and ran to avoid getting arrested (Chapter 185).
Kokonoi soon joined the Kantou Manji Gang as its Number 3 member and helped Mikey in controlling Shibuya Ward (Chapter 208).
Brahman

Akashi Takeomi

Keizo Arashi “Benkei”
Keizo Arashi was the former 1st Generation Captain of the Black Dragon’s Guards, another founding member, and is now a top executive under Brahman. He is also a member of the living legends and is one of the 1st Generation’s Best Duo (Chapter 213).
Keizo Arashi’s role is equivalent to that of a brawler. He can dish out and sustain heavy hits. Benkei instantly knocked Shion Madarame out in 1 hit. Although he looked like he was defeated after Kakuchou stepped in, he stood up as if nothing happened. Benkei has a very loud personality which fits his large stature (Chapter 213).

Wakasa Imaushi “Waka”
Wakasa Imaushi was a founder and the former 1st Generation Special Attack Unit Captain of the Black Dragons. He then became a top executive of Brahman when he joined the gang. As a member of the living legends, he is Benkei’s partner and was called alongside him as the 1st Generation’s Best Duo (Chapter 213).
Even if Wakasa Imaushi was always beside Benkei in both rank and battle, his attitude is the stellar opposite. He is very quiet and prefers to use surprise attacks against his opponents. After Kakuchou sent Benkei flying, Waka suddenly appeared behind Kakuchou where the latter wasn’t even able to sense his presence. Waka is also very laid-back and doesn’t want to fight if it isn’t necessary (Chapter 213).
Rokuraha Tandai

South Terano

Kakuchou
Hitto Kakuchou was a former member of Tenjiku’s Four Heavenly Kings and was Izana’s most trusted ally. He joined Rokuhara Tandai after he was recruited along with the other S62 Generation by South Terano. Kakuchou spent most of his time in the hospital after he was shot by Kisaki Tetta and nearly died (Chapter 185).
Kakuchou is currently the 1st Seat, the Top Dog, and is considered the trump card of Rokuhara Tandai. He was able to blow Benkei away with a single hit after he said that his goal was Takemichi (Chapter 213).

Ran Haitani
Following Tenjiku’s loss and Izana’s death, Ran Haitani along with the other S62 Generation were arrested and sent to the Juvenile Detention Center for the second time in their lives (Chapter 185). After they were released, they were recruited by South and joined Rokuhara Tandai. Ran Haitani was a previous member of the Four Heavenly Kings of Tenjiku and now has the rank of 2nd Seat in Rokuhara Tandai (Chapter 212).

Rindo Haitani
Along with the rest of the S62 Generation, Rindo Haitani was arrested and served a sentence in the Juvenile Detention Center after they stayed with Izana’s corpse during the Kanto Incident (Chapter 185). He joined Rokuhara Tandai along with his brother when they were recruited by South. Just like in Tenjiku, Rindo and Ran wore matching uniforms that have different colors than the rest (Chapter 212). Rindo is now Rokuhara Tandai’s 3rd seat.

Kanji Mochizuki
Kanji Mochizuki was one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Tenjiku until his arrest with the rest of the S62 Generation (Chapter 185). When he got out of the Juvenile Detention Center, he was recruited by South Terano to join Rokuhara Tandai as its 4th seat. During his reveal, he was known to be acquainted with Akashi Takeomi (Chapter 212).

Shion Madarame
Shion Madarame was one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Tenjiku and was the former 9th Generation Leader of the Black Dragons to which he brags endlessly. After he was released from the Juvenile Detention Center he was recruited by South and given the 5th seat of Rokuhara Tandai. Shion instantly got knocked out by Benkei when he bragged that he was affiliated with the Black Dragons (Chapter 213).
Bonten

Manjiro Sano
Mikey disbanded Toman and to make sure that everyone’s future was protected (Chapter 185). Unknown to Takemichi, Mikey cut off all contact with everyone from Toman after everything seemed okay (Chapter 195).
Mikey is now the president of Bonten and rules Japan’s underground criminal activity (Chapter 195). He runs Bonten with an iron fist where traitors are instantly executed (Chapter 196).

Haruchiyo Sanzu
Haruchiyo Sanzu is Bonten’s Number 2 and was the one responsible for hunting down traitors within the organization just like when he was in Toman (Chapter 196). It’s presumed that he became Bonten’s Number 2 after the Kantou Manji Gang defeated Brahman and Rokuhara Tandai.

Kakuchou
Kakuchou became Bonten’s number 3 when Takemichi went back to the future after Kisaki and Izana died and his mission was completed (Chapter 196).

Ran Haitani
After Ran Haitani became Rokuhara Tandai’s 2nd Seat, he joined Bonten in the future and became an executive who directly worked under Mikey (Chapter 196).

Rindo Haitani
Rindo Haitani joined Bonten with his brother and became an executive. They also have similar tattoos on the front of their necks which have resemblances to Izana’s earrings (Chapter 196).

Hajime Kokonoi
Hajime Kokonoi is now an executive of Bonten. This comes as no surprise as he was previously the Number 3 of the Kantou Manji Gang where he also served under Mikey (Chapter 196).
Others

Hinata Tachibana
Hinata Tachibana is the only one who Takemichi felt truly loved him. She died in the present timeline which is why Takemichi goes to the past.
In almost every timeline, Hinata will die due to the works of Kisaki Tetta who is obsessed with her and murders her in every future because she rejects him. In the past, Takemichi does his best to make Hinata feel loved and to make sure that she is saved. Hinata is the main reason why the plot goes forward.

Naoto Tachibana
Naoto Tachibana is the brother of Hinata Tachibana who was saved by Takemichi when he told him what will happen to Naoto and Hinata. Naoto is also the link or portal that Takemichi uses to go to the past via handshake.
After knowing what will happen to him and his sister, Naoto decides to become a police investigator but is unable to prevent his sister’s death. With the help of Takemichi, both of them do everything that it takes so that Hinata will be alive in the present timeline.

Emma Sano
Emma Sano is Mikey’s half-sister and Izana Kurokawa’s sibling. She and Mikey grew very close since she moved to their household and most of the time are mistaken to be dating.
Emma has a love interest in Draken but he usually ignores her. She is also very protective of Hinata and is loyal to Toman and Mikey. Emma would eventually be killed by Kisaki Tetta under the orders of Izana and die on Mikey’s back while he was rushing her to the hospital. Her final words were that Takemichi protects Mikey and that Mikey should tell Draken that she loves him.
