Anos already stands out from the others, as he is the reincarnation of a highly feared person known as the Demon King of Tyranny who existed 2,000 years ago.

He is adamant, unwavering, and invincible. Anos is an attractive, black-haired demon with black hair and red-black eyes. Many fans (as well as characters) describe him as being a “pretty boy” and he’s usually seen in the series wearing a school uniform a.k.a. a black shirt with a white jacket as well as trousers with a crimson belt.
What makes him a legend is the fact that he never originally announced himself as the Demon King, he still fully embraced the title as the rest of the world sees him that way.

This caused the irremovable guilt that Tsukishima carries with him his entire life. Yet still, Jinbei is a carefree, hot-headed guy who would never give up the chance for a good fight.
After a nearly fatal battle, Jinbei joins the Mushibugyo because of Kotori’s doing. He then earned the affection of a girl named Oharu, without him even knowing.

Lux Arcadia, a.k.a the “Weakest Undefeated” and sometimes goes by the name, “Black Hero”, was a former prince, as well as a member of the Seven Dragon Paladinem, and finally, the MC from the hit Anime series, Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle.
Later in the series, he met with a princess of the kingdom called Atismata, and with her name being Lisesharte, things get hilarious, though, when he completely unintentionally gets into the girl’s bathroom in the dormitories.
A while later, after Queen Raffi’s death and an amazingly epic battle, Lux had earned the title of KING for the New Kingdom. And I’m pretty sure the title of King is enough to get him a spot on this list.

Arata Kasuga in fact, is a Demon, and not just any Demon, he’s the Demon Lord of the Superbia Archive as well as being the main character of the series. He even has the ability to remove and copy magic. (Awesome!)
When it comes to looks, Arata is a fairly skinny boy, with messy black hair as well as dark eyes. Even though he was a Demon Lord Candidate, he was born into a normal family. He’d lived a normal life, before both his parents died because of a plane crash. Because of this, he has to live with his cousin, Hijiri along with her family.
During their time at elementary school, these two gain a close relationship with each other, because Arata was the only one who was nice to her, even though he didn’t even know about her being a Magus.

Glenn Radars is our Main Protagonist here and is the Professor of class number 2 at a famous magic Academy As well as being a professor, Glenn is also known as ‘The Fool’ of the I.C.M.C.S.M.A.
Glenn looks like a typical young man, with long black hair that he wears in a low ponytail along with a red hair tie. Glenn is an overly lazy, and sometimes mischievous person who is almost always annoying the other characters.
Some of these people are as follows: His mother, who is more than disappointed with him begging her not to force him to work, Sistine Fibel who is constantly lecturing him about taking his job seriously, and Halley Astrey, who is in fact also a professor, she looks down on his lack of professionalism he has during class.

Ye Xiu is a professional E-Sports player. He’s the former captain of the group “Happy” and of “Excellent Era” as well as a former user of One Autumn Leaf.
Currently, he’s a user of Lord Grim and he’s the leader of the Chinese Glory Team. Ye Xiu is known by the public as “the Glory Textbook.”
Ye Xiu cares for his closest friends as well as his teammates but he still tends to anger lots of people because he’s so straightforward and says exactly what’s on his mind.
What makes him slightly different is that in contrast to many peoples’ beliefs, he is not pompous or self-important, and he proves this by playing Glory with everyone chatting, and having fun with them, even with the janitor. This was when he was in the Excellent Era.

Shichika Yasuri is the main male protagonist of Katanagatari. He is also known as the seventh head of Kyotōryū school of Japanese Sword Martial Arts.
Shichika knows nothing about the outside world, making him oblivious to embarrassing situations. He is regularly confused by simple expressions and actions.
He was unfortunately raised to be used as a weapon, making it hard for him to show emotion. He later states that he is in love with Togame, his wielder, and always follows her orders, no matter how hard they might be for him.
Slowly, as he meets and learns about more and more people, he starts learning about society and becomes more human than before. At the age of twenty-four, he is asked by Togame to be a part of an epic mission to find the twelve ultimate Deviant Blades.

Kojou Akatsuki is the Main Character of the striking anime series, Strike the Blood. He’s most commonly known as the elder brother of Nagisa Akatsuki as well as the childhood friend of Yuuma Tokoyogi.
Although he might appear to be a typical high school student currently attending Saikai Academy, he’s the fourth forebearer; AND the strongest vampire to ever exist, he’s an immortal demon that was previously thought to only exist in strictly fictional legends.

Shiba Tatsuya is the main male protagonist of the Anime series, The Irregular in Magic High School. In the beginning, he had enrolled at the National Magic University Affiliated First High School on the date of April 2095.

Ainz, our protagonist, is a bit stranger than the other MCs on our list. He has an appearance of a Lich, a.k.a. an undead skeleton monster that lacks the human qualities of skin and flesh. When it comes to outfits he wears an irregular, pit-black gown decorated with gold as well as violet rims and patterns.
In his dark warrior form, he would wear a full-on pitch-black body armor that also has gold and violet marks and patterns. Along with all of that, he wears a blood-red cape along with two MASSIVE swords.
When Ainz had started playing YGGDRASIL, a widely popular game in the Overlord worlds, way before the start of the first episode, he was nearly about to quit because of the fact that when he had played a Heteromorphic Race, other players had only seen him as a horrible monster that deserved nothing more than to be killed.
Luckily for him, he was saved by a player named Touch Me, and they both join seven other players to start a new, epic PVP Guild, called Ainz Ooal Gown. All these people were viewed by the other players as monsters, evil creatures, so they thought it was finally time to strike back.

Jin is the main male protagonist of the hit Anime series, Samurai Champloo. In the beginning, he was one of Fuu’s two bodyguards, the other one being Mugen.
Jin was a former student of Kenjutsu, and he had killed his own master, but purely for self-defense. He had then fled and at some point, met with Fuu and Mugen.
Jin is a young man with glasses being iconic to his appearance, and not unlike Glenn, he has long charcoal black hair that’s tied in a low ponytail with bangs framing his face like a photo, as well as dark, brown eyes.
Jin had been taught by his powerful teacher, Sensei Enshiro Mariya. He had trained in his sensei’s Dojo, and this was where he had become Enshiro’s absolute favorite student.
Jin was also close with another samurai with the name Yukimaru, and he had become so close, he considered this man as a brother. A while later, out of the blue, Enshiro had asked Jin, because of Kariya Kegetoki’s request, what he would think of turning the samurai school into a school for assassins.
Jin had naturally refused this without a second thought. Because of this, Kariya had ordered Enshiro to kill Jin while he was asleep. When the night came, Jin had reacted on instinct, and accidentally killed his Master. He then knew he had to flee, as he was now a fugitive, which then caused lots of Ronins as well as samurais to be sent after Jin, because of the murder he had committed accidentally.

Rosette Christopher is the main female protagonist of Chrono Crusade. She is an exquisite Exorcist who works at Order of Magdalene’s New York Branch.
Even though she goes on lots, and I mean lots, of missions only for exorcising demons, and lots of other supernatural beings, her main goal in life is to search and locate her younger brother, Joshua, who was kidnapped by a demon named Aoin no less than 4 years before the start of the series.
In order to find her brother, Rosette had created and signed a contract with a hornless demon named Chrono.
Yes, there are still horrible consequences to this. One of which is the fact that Rosette’s lifespan gets shorter every single time she unlocks the pocket watch-shaped seal that contains Chrono’s powers. Sadly, since she accepted this dire consequence, it changed her lifespan so drastically that Rosette won’t even live until her 30th birthday.
Despite the pain of this reality, Rosette manages to go on and continue, determined to get her brother back safely. Later, in the middle of trying to find her brother, she fails and unfortunately dies at sunset along with Chrono.
Rosette was a very positive, yet a hot-headed girl who couldn’t keep her mouth shut. She had enjoyed exploring as well as food the most. With her energetic personality, her sharp tongue, as well as her love for unique hobbies, she is set far apart from the others and is definitely a true legend.

Jin is a quiet and stern-looking person and is hardly ever seen smiling or grinning during the series. But this doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s a bad person, in fact, we see the good and kind in him when he’s with his foster mother, and we know that he would do anything for those that he’s close to.
But now, for the aspects that make him a legend, here they are.
Jin has the awesome ability to turn into a creature called ‘ZET’, which is in fact a mutant creature with amazing strengths and powers, yet he’s often mistaken for another player in the game.
Jin is also epic with combat and fighting, as he’s been using these skills in order to get money since he was as young as nine years old.
As he got older, he also got more experienced along with age, and currently, he has the power to wipe out multiple enemies and opponents at once, even in the worst conditions.
And lastly, he has the amazing ability to regenerate. He can regenerate many injuries in short amounts of time, but the bigger the injury is, the longer it takes to heal. These abilities together make Jin nearly unstoppable, earning him the number four spot on our ranking!

Hakuowlo is the main male protagonist of Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen.
In terms of appearance, Hakuowlo is a lanky, towering as well as handsome young man. He has inky eyes as well as long, dark blue hair.
When it comes to his outfits, he often wears a white Kimono that has a fitting blue trim on the edge, as well as blue pants and brown shoes to go along with it.

Lelouch vi Britannia is our main character for Code Geass. His story starts after they cast him out when he decided to use the alias, which he named Lelouch. Lelouch is in fact the 11th Prince for the Britannian Empire. He’s also the leader as well as the founder of a group called “The Black Knights.”
Giving him the absolute NUMBER ONE SPOT is the fact that he was the most liked male character of the year 2006, the year 2007, AND the year 2008 during “Animage Magazine’s” annual Anime Grand Prix.
Lelouch’s Japanese dub Voice Actor also won the “Best Actor with a Leading Role” award for his work on the character, during the Seiyū Awards.

A lot of us mistakenly compare Code: Geass to Death Note, thinking that both anime are very similar. But the difference between them cannot be greater. The fundamental values that each one is trying to share are unique and come from rooted psychological beliefs that the main characters are upholding throughout the story. Some of those beliefs grew due to past traumas where others are just the consequences of the rotten society we live in. To support my theory, we will talk about each aspect of both anime separately. Diplomatic conflicts with Japan over their natural resources pushed the Empire to declare war on the small country. Using a new weapon called Nightmare’s, they started their attack. The Japanese didn’t stand a chance and became yet another Britanian territory. The Japanese had to forfeit their rights, their dignity, and even their identity. Area 11 was the name given to Japan after its defeat and its inhabitants were renamed Elevens. Now considered a lower race, the Elevens are discriminated against and live in constant fear. Using his extraordinary intelligence and his newfound power, Lelouch starts executing his plan to extinguish Britannia by taking the alias Zero, a terrorist and leader of the Black Nights. Death Note - A Badass Series for Intellectuals Death note is set in a realistic world, in our world. A world filled with criminals, corruption, and injustice. In that unfair world lives an A student named Light Yagami. Considered a genius, his deductive skills, and his intelligence are off the charts. Turns out that Light is also an idealist with a delusion of grandeur and a God complex. He wishes for a world free of criminals, a Utopia ruled by one God, him. A dream completely out of reach until he happens to pick up a notebook that he saw falling for the sky. That notebook was actually a Death Note dropped on purpose by the Shinigami Ryuk into the human world. Now in the possession of Light, he discovers that the Death Note has real powers and starts learning how to use it. The conditions of use are simple, you have to know the real name and the face of your target and write that name in the Death Note. Within 40 seconds, if the details of the death are not specified, the person in question will die of a heart attack. This is where the purge begins. Killing criminals after criminals the public and authorities realized that a higher power, an inexplicable power is killing every bad individual. They ended up giving him the name “Kira” meaning killer. Now on the police’s radar, Light is facing an incredible enemy, a mysterious detective named L whose intelligence rivals his. Living a double life, Light has to fool his father who is chief of the police, and L who is already suspecting him to keep moving forward. Powers in Death Note and Code: Geass Both main character’s powers have the ability to kill although Lights’ power is much more limited than Lelouche’s making him face more difficult obstacles and still thriving as if his supremacy was absolute. Light can only define the actions that his targets have to undergo just before their death or just kill them. His only obligation before doing so is to know the name and face of the target so that people who share the same name will not be affected. When those conditions have been met the target can no longer escape him. Lelouch on the other hand has the option to keep his targets alive and use them even in the long-term. He also has the option of using it on himself if necessary. His only constraint is that he has to see his target directly without even the interference of glasses and he can use Geass on a person only once so he has to use it very wisely. Once Geass has been cast the target no longer has the freedom to refuse him. Each skill has its own perks and drawbacks, and each hero learned how to adapt to use each ability to their full potential. Light even discovered ways to use the Death Note that even the Shinigamies didn’t know about. Furthermore, both main characters believe that their intelligence is also a powerful weapon, maybe even as powerful as their ability which is not wrong at all. Lights IQ is 211 and Lelouches is 210, all their plans are carefully studied, some of them didn’t even need the use of their special ability and both of them would have been Game Over pretty fast, despite their powers, if they were not as intelligent and resourceful as they are. Appearance-wise, Minami is a 15-year-old girl with an under-developed child-like body. She has short green hair and a long fringe over her forehead, reaching almost her sharp ocean-blue eyes. Because of her distant expressions and less use of speech, she is often mistaken as a cold-hearted person but is actually the opposite of that. She is often seen with a poker face, and it is hard to tell what she is feeling at the moment. In an outfit, she is often seen wearing her school uniform, consisting of a white shirt and red skirt along with red collars. She is one of the main characters, and this was one of the reasons why she is at the beginning of our list! 2-Suu from Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou This one anime girl is truly one of her kind! Even though what rests on top of her head can hardly be characterized as hair, but it's green! She is a slime by species from the anime Musume no Iru Nichijou. Her whole body is made up of blue gelatinous slime with a mop of greenish slime-like hair on her head. Because of her body's nature, she can easily change the shape and size of her body, hence can become bouncier, taller, or curvier than usual! 3-Tatsumaki from One punch man One punch is a name you must've heard if you're an Otaku. Tatsumaki is an utterly attractive woman with a small but attractive body from this famous anime. She is known by her title ' Tornado of Terror'. She has curly green hair, every strand of which rises and curls upward. She has matching green eyes and often wears distant expressions on her face. Despite being in her late 20's, she still looks way younger than her age. Her appearance not only helps her seem prettier and more youthful but also gives off the idea of her powerful personality. She is one of the most powerful characters of the anime. 4-Evergreen from Fairy tail This one is personally my all-time favorite anime. It contains a wide range and variety of characters so it was kind of expected for one or two green-haired girls from Fairy-tail to be included in this list. Bisca Mulan (later becomes Bisca Connel) is a member of the main guild Fairy Tail. She is a mage by profession, just like her husband, and has light greenish-colored straight hair with one side of her forehead covered with straight bangs. She is often seen wearing a hat over her head, and the rest of the outfit is very revealing and sexy as well. 5-Tsubomi Kido from Mekakucity Actors Tsubomi is a dope character from the anime Mekakucity Actors and has a very cool appearance with long straight green hair and spiky bangs. She often keeps her head covered with a light purple hoodie and has distant-looking red eyes, but in actuality, she has a kind nature. She is more of a mature person but can be mistaken as someone frightening because of the dark expressions she wears. Because of her tomboyish look, she is often mistaken for a boy, but she actually has a pretty face if observed closely. 6-Michiru Kaiou from Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S Sailor Moon, a very popular anime with a beautiful and unique art style. Michiru Kaiou, also known as Sailor Neptune, is one of them with her beautiful shiny green hair and a blue ribbon tied at the back of her head. She is the lead character and is portrayed as a Japanese schoolgirl. She also has contrasting green eyes, as well as the rest of her outfit, contain green in it. She is a fair woman of tall built with big fair breasts that are exposed through her deep-cut neck. She has an oval face with a small nose and lips and greenish eyes, just like her hair. Apart from that, the noticeable feature about her is her elf-like ears, poking out from between her elegant hair. She changes her dress frequently and wears really detailed clothes. One of her outfits is her wearing a dress with black shorts and a green overcoat, exposing her mid-thighs while she wears orange boots that reach up to her mid-thighs and other times, she is seen wearing a blue dress with white fur underneath along with a white cloak. 31-Chika Hakozaki from Hyperdimension Neptunia. Chika is a stylish-looking pretty girl with a slender body. She has very pale skin that stands out with the usual black mini dress that she wears. Her outfit comprises of black dress with large slits on either side and a train at the black with green colored cloth underneath. She also wears black shoes with high socks that cover her knees and extend up to her mid-thighs. She has beautifully curved, long pale green colors that reach almost up to her hips. She has a large, black-colored with green lines and a four-petal flower-shaped bow tied on her head in her ponytail. In her black dress, there is a hint of purple in her neck bow and the bow-tied in her shoes. This character of the anime is especially obsessed with Vert, the goddess of the series. Chika thinks of her as her elder sister and would do anything to get her attention. She would often pretend to be sick to get Vert looking after her or would bring video games for Vert to play. These little tricks show her sinister and mischievous nature. That's the only prominent thing about her personality. She is a very cheerful girl but can be serious when required. 32- Quetzalcoatl from Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Quetzalcoatl is also known as Lucoa is a supporting character of the anime series Kobayashi-san Chi no maid dragon and the main protagonist of Kobayashi-san chi no maid dragon: Lucoa wa Boku no xx desu. She is a former dragon goddess. In appearance, she is a tall, fair-skinned woman with an hourglass figure. She also has heavy breasts that are drawn noticeably big. She has long, wavy blonde hair, but the green died at the end of the beautiful strands stands out equally. Another noticeable feature about her face is her dual-colored eyes. One iris is of yellow color on the inside, surrounded by the green/ blue thick ring, the yellow color is just like half of her hair, and the other is of pale green, exactly like the end of her strands. Now for their personalities, it is true that both characters have a god complex and an inflated ego. They are viewed as Anti Heroes and want to reform the world the way they want. The major difference here is why are they doing it. And the why is directly related to their personalities. In Lights’ case, he personally rejects the way things work and took it upon himself to reconstruct the world free of criminals. He wants to build his own utopia where he will rule as a God. In general, he is doing a favor to the world but it comes from a place of selfishness to satisfy his own ambitions. To achieve his goals he is ready to sacrifice everyone around him even if they were family, dear friends, or innocent people and that act turned him into the very people he was trying to eradicate. On the other hand what Lelouch wants is a world deprived of inequality, a world where the weak and the strong have the same opportunities. He never intended to rule over the new world that he was creating, he wanted to prove that the weak are not to be trampled upon by putting his crippled sister in a position of power. He wanted to create a world where she would not have to suffer. He made sacrifices, cruel choices and was labeled as a villain but would always draw the line when the lives of his loved ones would be in jeopardy. He did what he did in the name of love and not for himself even if everything started only for the sake of his sister, he will end up having a change of heart after realizing how many people are now depending on him. Goals - Different Ideals As for their respective goals, they are also very different. Light intended to keep on killing every single criminal until he completely eradicated crime. The logic behind his action is that if people know that something or someone is killing wrongdoers all over the world and they have no way of defending themselves they will be too scared to dare commit any kind of crime no matter how puny. Not even a week after Kira had officially acknowledged the crime rates in every country dropped considerably so his plan worked perfectly. However, Lelouch wanted to destroy the current world and create a new one. A world where the resources were not used to fund new weapons or wars but were used to solve hunger and poverty. For this he deviated all the hatred of the world unto himself so when he would die the world would finally be freed of that vicious circle and start moving forward to the future. Everything went according to plan as expected. Now the styles of both anime are very different, Death Note goes beyond the concept of good and evil, it’s very psychological and forces you to reflect on yourself while trying to deduce if Light became a real Villain or is still on the side of justice. There is not much action, it’s more of a game of deduction between two great minds trying to corner each other. The ingenuity that Light and L will demonstrate will keep you on your toes and surprise you when you least expect it. Code Geass vs Death Note Code Geass is more on the Heroic side offering great battles, duals, and excitement. It will feel like each side is playing chess and the board is the entire world. It also has a comical side since Lelouch has absolutely no physical abilities and his friends tend to take advantage of that fact. As the storyline is very different and the overall mood of these anime are also incomparable since one is on the brooding side and the other much more cheerful, to determine which one is better I will focus on each anime’s second seasons. You all know that it is very difficult to pass to season 2 while keeping the same level of quality, interest and excitement felt in season 1. The biggest challenge for any manga is to make Season 2 as good or maybe even better than season 1. Well sorry to disappoint but both anime failed that test, however one crashed harder than the other and it would be Death Note. In Death Note, they killed off the most loved and interesting character L, and introduced new enemies that just didn’t meet expectations. They were unable to replace the charisma of L even less to fill the gap left by his death. The chemistry felt between Light and L and the fact that they were working together is what made the first part so exciting since the faintest slip-up would ruin everything and that was something that disappeared entirely afterward making the second part kind of boring. Also, Light becomes a bit psychologically unstable and is regarded more as troubled than the unstoppable genius he previously was. As for the second season of Code Geass, it was just not as well polished as Season 1. You just don’t get the same satisfaction felt before. Too many new characters were introduced stealing the spotlight from much more interesting ones. The plot suddenly became a bit expected but they still did a good job by making us want to come back despite the shortcomings. The mystery of Zero’s Identity was also gone at this point and no surprises were to follow, it was just the unfolding of a plan. However, the ending saved the Second Season since it didn’t follow your typical cliché. And also revealed a continuation that all the fans were looking forward to. In terms of ingenuity, deductive skills, and battles of wits, Death Note is one step ahead of Code Geass, by offering much more interesting strategies and more elaborate plans and tactics. The development of the story is way less predictable and surprises you in each episode. I would say that fans of detective work and investigations will enjoy watching Death Note more than Code Geass, which focuses on physical battles and wars between armies. For fans of action, anime Code Geass would be the right choice. Conclusion We established that those two anime don’t really have much in common, but determining which one is better will actually depend on your own personality and taste. Both anime can be considered masterpieces but following the general opinion, Death Note is still way more popular than Code Geass and is considered by many people the best anime. However, that may be the case because it was a very popular manga before getting an anime while Code Geass wasn’t based on one. So it can be considered a real achievement for Code Geass to be compared to that Iconic anime. Death Note is also actually considered the perfect anime for beginners, an anime that will surely get you hooked. I would personally recommend Code Geass since I enjoyed it more and because of the recent movie that was released that was really well made.
