Hello everyone! Are you all excited about the new season of Mushoku Tensei? Most of the anime community is.
If you are, then boy do I have some great news for you. Today, we will be sharing a Mushoku Tensei Character Wiki. We will be discussing a character that should be talked about more: Nanahoshi Shizuka.

Let me guess. You don’t know her. That’s okay, well not really, but I am trying to work on my sassy to nice ratio.
Nanahoshi Shizuka or Silent Seven Star has a very subtle debut. Since there are four sources for the Mushoku Tensei story, it is only natural that I explicitly state where she debuts in each one.
Whenever you reach these points in any of the Mushoku Tensei sources, be sure to keep an eye out for our Silent Seven Star.

Isn’t Shizuka just the cutest?! If we are going to talk about her only in terms of her appearance, well then, all I can really say is that she is stunning. And stunning to the T. I mean, just look at her. Her physique is slim.
You know, just the other day, I did a Yuichiro Hanma Baki Character Wiki, which we should show some love to when it comes out. Anyway, Shizuka is nothing like Yuichiro! If you don’t believe me, that’s fine. Just compare the character designs side by side. Actually, that would be sick if Shizuka had the same build as Baki’s Grandfather.
Usually, she is seen with a mask. And a white one at that. She is gorgeous and I’d like to put that out there, however, she is easy to miss. Hold your horses and pitchforks, let me explain! Maybe it’s her dark hair and grey eyes, but for some reason, she seems to effortlessly blend into the crowd.
Perhaps not much attention is drawn to her in the series because of Rudeus’ three waifus. I don’t think that was a spoiler. Roxy, Eris, and Sylphiette are all of our waifus. But it does suck that Shizuka does not get the spotlight she deserves. Going back to the mask, the mask that she wears is super plain. The only noticeable feature on it are two thin rectangles placed right above her eyes.
When we first saw her, she was in a generic Japanese school uniform (Mushoku Tensei Anime: Episode 2 Master). But throughout the series, we usually see her with a large cloak that is angled more downward in the front. The cloak is black with a pale white hem—very typical of Shizuka.
Underneath her cloak, she has a white skirt that stops just above her knees. She has a white blouse underneath with short puffy sleeves. There is this ruffle detail near the buttons of her shirt.
On top of her white blouse, she has a charcoal black vest. It sort of looks like a corset; I wouldn’t know. I’m not used to this fancy attire. I am more of a hoodie and flared jeans kind of gal.
She also wears these straw-like boots that reach right below her knees. They have little cute flaps on the top. I personally wouldn’t buy them, but hey, each to their own, I guess. Everything else looks comfortable, aside from that vest. It just looks too tight and restrictive. But that is to be expected in harem anime. This is a harem show, right?
Anyway, Nanahoshi Shizuka has an ordinary outfit. But it is still adorable. She can make anything work honestly. Her hair is beautiful. It looks so silky and smooth. Her hair is pretty long, and I just don’t know how she can work with that length. That alone is incredible. She also trains too. Doesn’t her hair ever get frizzy? Does humidity not exist in Mushoku Tensei?
She has bangs, but they are parted in the middle. The reason why I said ‘but’ is because usually, characters in anime have some part of their bangs covering their forehead. I have quite the forehead, and because I was practically raised by anime, I felt the need to cover it up.
But we now have Shizuka who displays her beautiful forehead loud and proud. Who said anime and manga are not empowering?! Side note: I love her ears because they are pointy, just like her nose.
There is nothing wrong with non-pointy noses, but I find it cute that it matches her ears. Her side profile is breathtaking too! Gosh, she is so pretty. And her jawline could rival Yuichiro. Okay, maybe that one was a stretch, but her jawline is fierce. I normally write long descriptions of characters’ appearances because it is arguably one of, if not the most, important impressions you can make.
We are shallow creatures. Sorry to break it to you. Humans suck. It is in our nature to judge, and that is not okay. That is why I spend so much time talking about every little feature a character has because, at the end of the day, manga and anime are considered art forms.
Sure, the plot is good. But what makes manga and anime separate from a web novel and light novel (minus the occasional pictures) is that we can actually see the characters and the scenes.
You don’t have to agree with me, but at least try to understand where I am getting at. Character designs are important whether you like them or not. Art needs to be appreciated, just like Shizuka. I am killing two birds with one stone. Wait. Killing is bad. Don’t do that at home kids.
Oh! How about ‘Eating two cakes with one stomach’? That’s a good one.
Personality
Again, if we are only talking about Nanahoshi Shizuka’s personality, then I like her. She reminds me a lot about myself. Shizuka wants to go back to her real home. Not the magical one she was thrown into, but the world she was born in.
I am in university right now and I’m also living in a dorm. Campus life is not as thrilling as you see in movies, I can swear on that. I have never related to a character so much like now. Sure, there are perks in the worlds we don’t want to live in, but you just can’t beat your home. You can’t, even if you tried to.
Shizuka is a very responsible and reliable girl. When she does her job, she does her job, and she does it right. It is good to be serious while you are working. At the end of the day, you are what you do. I do nothing, so what am I? Nothing.
She would spend most of her time indoors. Shizuka did not like meeting new people in the world she was summoned to. Why? Well, because she did not want to become attached to anyone.
I am a firm believer that when you meet anyone, you are linked to them for the rest of your life. You may never see them again, but you did at least one time. And you cannot overwrite or change the past.
Nanahoshi Shizuka isolates herself. Do you know what her reason is for that? To avoid contracting any foreign pathogens. Listen, we should have followed in her footsteps two years ago. COVID-19 is not going anywhere anytime soon. Take this as a public announcement: Quote the Anime wants you to wear your masks and wash your hands.
Overall, Shizuka maintains a distant attitude concerning the magical world she now lives in. I wish we can see more sides of her than just getting excited over talking about her previous world and trying to get away from this world.
Shizuka, you are not alone. I am also trying to devise a plan to escape from this hell hole they call a ‘university’. How about we meet up and help each other out?
Strength And Skills
Shizuka has absolutely no magic. None whatsoever. She does not have magic because she was summoned from a world where magic did not exist.
That sounds reasonable, correct? So, she cannot cover herself with fighting spirit or use magic in battle or in general. However, that does not mean she can’t use magical items. I specifically did not mention Nanahoshi Shizuka’s age in the Appearance part of this Mushoku Tensei Character Wiki because I was waiting to talk about it in this section.
Shizuka does not age. She is considered to be seventeen in Mushoku Tensei. Why doesn’t she age? Well, I haven’t the slightest clue. Shizuka thinks it is because she is from an entirely different world. Or, she could have been summoned from the future. I like the future theory. It makes sense. Her hair does not grow any longer in the Mushoku Tensei world, nor do her nails. If you are from the future, you can’t grow in the past.
Despite her not being able to grow, she still functions like any normal person. She can get sick, she goes to the bathroom, and she must eat.
I was confused about this when I compared Rudeus to Shizuka. Nanahoshi Shizuka was summoned, whereas Rudeus Greyrat was isekaid or reincarnated into the Mushoku Tensei world. Check out a theory we have about that called “Why Was Rudeus Greyrat Reincarnated?”
Although she does not have an ounce of magic in her, she has trained and learned about magic to make up for her shortcoming.
She was trained by Perugius Dola. Dola was one of the great heroes who banished Laplace. He looks a lot like Orsted, but he does not have a curse of hate—notice how I did not say ‘he does not have a curse on him’. He also likes art which is nice. I am glad to know there are people that can truly take in fine art (Mushoku Tensei Light Novel: Volume 14)
Rings
Why is there a ‘Rings’ section in this blog? Good question! Shizuka has three rings in her possession. No, they are not from Claire’s. These are magical rings. They are not for display, but instead, they can be used as tools for defense and offense attacks.
Look at my girl go! Like I said before, she has trained hard to be where she is battle-wise. I’m so proud of her.
What is interesting is that she has a ring on her ring finger. Nanahoshi is not getting married, so you can relax now. When I first saw that, I got a bit nervous there. She is only seventeen! That is too early to settle down!
Anyway, this ring is like a GPS for Orsted. He knows where she is, sort of like a compass, at any point in time when it is fueled by magic (Mushoku Tensei Light Novel: Volume 9 Chapter 6).
The second ring she has is on her middle finger. This ring allows her to form an invisible barrier. This is evident when Sylphiette (my personal favorite of the three known waifus of the series) was going to hit Shizuka. I also have a ring on my middle finger, but that’s for different reasons. When I wear it, it does the exact opposite of protecting me. That is all I will say about that.
Last but not least, her third ring is on her pointer finger. Yes, it is supposed to be called the index finger, but when I was a kid in elementary school, the ‘pointer finger’ just made more sense to me. You point with your index finger. Thus, it should be officially and legally called the ‘pointer finger’. I rest my case.
This ring prevents magic from being channeled or summoned by the respected caster (Mushoku Tensei Light Novel: Volume 9 Chapter 6). So, when Sylphiette was about to cast an attack (that is of magic), it did not work and that was because of Shizuka’s ring. The ring on her pointer finger. I will not stop until all Anatomy books have the index finger labeled as pointer finger.
Facts
- Shizuka has three magic rings in the series. Whenever her hands are within view in the panel or screen, be sure to check them out.
- She has a disease named Drain Syndrome. This illness is when people who don’t have magical, or barely, slowly accumulate magic to which they are constantly being exposed. Mushoku Tensei is a magic-based world. This will continue up until Shizuka negatively reacts to magic.
- Ladies and gentlemen, please give a round of applause to the lovely Nanahoshi Shizuka who successfully obtained Rank A in the Magical Guild (Mushoku Tensei Light Novel: Volume 9 Chapter 6).
- Shizuka drinks tea daily to fight the Drain Syndrome disease. The tea she drinks is made from Sokasu grass.
- When Orsted almost murdered Rudeus Greyrat, Silent Seven Star asked Orsted to save him (Mushoku Tensei Light Novel: Volume 6 Chapter 10)
- Sokasu Grass allows Shizuka to eliminate the accumulated magic she absorbs. How? The magical power is excreted in her waste. This is not a cure, but it is instead a temporary fix to her life-threatening problem. Just another reason why Shizuka does not want to stay in this world.
- While she traveled with Orsted, she started taking on the name of Silent Seven Star—it’s got a ring to it, don’t you think?
Past/Background
Nanahoshi Shizuka was living a normal life on Earth. She was a student, and she wouldn’t have changed that for the world. And look what happened. She was summoned to a different world.
One day, she was about to get hit by a truck, but she and a few others were saved by this Fat Man. Plot twist (SPOILER ALERT) the Fat Man will become the main character of Mushoku Tensei- Rudeus (Mushoku Tensei- Anime Season 1 Episode 1)
I am not really comfortable in referring to him as the ‘Fat Man’, but that is how the fandom refers to him in his previous life. I don’t know. I just know I don’t like saying that title. So, she did not die. But she was mysteriously summoned into the Asura Kingdom. And because of her presence, she was the cause of the Mana Calamity in the Fittoa area.
She then comes across a man who is a member of the dragon clan. He is known as Orsted. After all is said and done, he takes her under his wing and teaches her the information she needs to know about this world.
Together, they embark on a journey to figure out a way for her to return to her original world. Perhaps on the way, they will find the reason as to why she was summoned here in the first place. There is always a reason for everything.
This duo is known as The Girl in The White Mask With Orsted. Isn’t it funny how Orsted is the Dragon God, and yet he is added as a sidekick in their team name? Hilarious!
Through Orsted, she met Perugius. Perugius is the one that taught Shizuka summoning magic, and by doing so, they may be able to open a door into her previous world. However, I do stress the word ‘may’.
Affiliations
Ranoa Magic Academy
Miss Nanahoshi Shizuka has a very nice list of affiliations. She is connected to Ranoa Magic Academy because she goes there. Not only does she attend there, but she has also made one heck of a reputation for herself. She has no magic, yet she obtained Rank A in the Magic Guild—and that’s mind-boggling!
Shizuka helped increase the quality of life at Ranoa Magic Academy. She has made the Academy her base, which is bonkers if you ask me.
Orsted and Perugius Dola
She is affiliated with Orsted and Perugius because they travel together, and they are practically her teachers.
Rudo Mercenary Company
Nanahoshi Shizuka is sponsored by the Rudo Mercenary Company. This company was founded and led by Aisha. Rinia also founded this Mercenary Group. The company is a platform for selling services such as jobs for recruitment, guarding, and other standard tasks mercenaries do.
I want to be sponsored too. But like at the same time, I don’t want my sponsor to expect anything from me. If you know of any companies like that, let me know.
Rudeus Greyrat
She is affiliated with Rudeus not only because he is her friend, but he is the president of the Rude Mercenary Company.
Others
Shizuka is also affiliated with money! She made major bank by creating trade routes with the help of Orsted’s powers. Like in any world, if you have money, you have influence. And she has plenty of that too.
Shizuka uses her money and influence in hopes of finding a way back to her original world. I don’t want her to go, but I do want the best for her. And if that means returning to her world, then so be it.
Relationships
Rudeus Greyrat
It is only standard that we have the main character of the Mushoku Tensei as the first relationship that is to be discussed in this section.
There is no romance between Rudeus Greyrat and Nanahoshi Shizuka. Thank God. They both have so much potential, and although love is an inevitable aspect of this series, I really want these characters to focus on themselves and their growth.
These two are friends, and they get along just fine. That is most likely because they both are Japanese and that is a topic in which they can both discuss naturally.
Shizuka even confided to Rudeus that she has no choice but to stay in this new world that they are in because the most likely reason she was summoned was to create a method for his next generations to defeat the Human God (Mushoku Tensei- Light Novel Volume 15 Chapter 4). Unless she does what she needs to, she can’t go back to her home.
Orsted
When I think of Shizuka, I always think of Orsted. He met her after she appeared in the metastasis event. They travel together, and she has learned a lot from him.
I briefly touched on Orsted and curses. It is now the right time to expand more on that. See? It is all about the timing!
Orsted has a curse, and that curse is what makes people scared of him—literally. He has the curse of fear. However, Nanahoshi Shizuka is not affected by this curse. She is immune to it just like her fellow Japanese friend, Rudeus Greyrat.
Perugius Dola
Isn’t that such a cool name? I confuse Perugius with Pegasus more times than I can count though, but that’s fine.
He is famous for his involvement in taking on Laplace, and also for rebuilding the ancient sky castle—which is pretty sick!
He helped Shizuka in her research about magic circles and summoning. I love a researching queen. Is it just me, but whenever I read about a female character who is passionate about her education and goes beyond what is possible for her, I get too excited!
Again, she has no magic, but she tries to soak in all she can about this world. But that is because she wants to leave it. Detail, details.
Shinohara Akito
This is the one time where I won’t judge you for not knowing a character. Shinohara is one of Nanahoshi Shizuka’s friends. He was with her during the truck incident.
The Fat Man, or now known as Rudeus Greyrat, was not about to save him (Mushoku Tensei: Volume 22 Young Man Period ). Thus, Shinohara died.
Voice Actors
Shion Wakyama
Nanahoshi Shizuka’s Japanese Voice Actor is done by Shion Wakyama. Miss Shion has quite the list of roles in the anime community. She has voiced characters from Dr. Stone, Red Garden, Gundam Build Diverse Re: Rise, and even Her Blue Sky.
Miss Shion Wakayam is also voicing Destiny who is a main character in the new Takt Op. Destiny anime series. Unfortunately, I have not started that anime, but I will start it soon. Let us know in the comments if you are interested in Takt Op. Destiny blogs!

Back to Shizuka! She is a fantastic person to look up to. In my major, most of the class is familiar with this field and they have plenty of experience in the field, so they can grasp key concepts a lot quicker than I can.
I, on the other hand, have zero experience. But like Shizuka, I am taking the initiative to learn, and maybe one day, I can succeed like her.
Even if we are at a huge disadvantage, we must adapt and survive the challenging environments we are put in. And that is exactly what Shizuki did.
Heck, she made an entire Academy her base. She is an inspiring woman, and despite her not wanting to be in the world she is in, she is doing everything she can to be on top of this mess.
