Synopsis
Platinum End is a new anime series that was adapted from the Manga of the same name. It was created by the same people who worked on Death Note, Hikaru no Go, and Bakuman. They are the legendary Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba. It was released on October 8, 2021, and was planned to have a total of 12 episodes.
For starters, Platinum End is a psychological, drama-shounen anime that follows the life of Mirai Kakehashi. Mirai decides to commit suicide after a series of unfortunate events happened to him. And by unfortunate, I mean really dark things! He was abused by his relatives. These moments took place after Mirai was the only one left in his family when an accident happened and killed everyone but him.
Table of Contents
As Mirai jumps off the rooftop, he wonders if there really is an afterlife. Unexpectedly, Nasse, an Angel, catches him and tells him that she is his protector. But you know what Mirai did? He asks Nasse to let go. The man just wants to die, let him be. However, Nasse refuses and reveals to him the truth about his family’s death.

Mirai uses the Red Arrow to force the truth out of his relatives which leads his aunt to kill herself because of the guilt. As he recovers the money that was stolen from him, Mirai and Nasse have a clash in their morals with Mirai saying that he just doesn’t care about power and wants to live a normal, happy life. But what you wouldn’t expect is that Nasse is more ruthless than that kid that called you fat at Mcdonald’s.
After a series of unfortunate yet satisfying events occur, Mirai discovers that 13 people were chosen as the next God candidate. This dude literally went from “I want to kill myself” to “I’m gonna be the next God”. Talk about some big sigma male energy. Now, Mirai must join a competition that looks as if the Hunger Games had a baby with Death Note. Will Mirai let his morals get the best of him? Or will he and Nasse rule Heaven and Earth together?
