Anime With The Best Endings

24+ Anime With The Best Endings Of All Time (RANKED)

If you thought Bitcoins and the Stock market was hard work, try writing a list about anime with the best endings without spoiling its endings. To me, a good ending would be, when a show ties up all the loose ends and questions that needed to be answered in that show.

While most anime try to give a good ending, often it has been seen that many questions remain unanswered to the viewers and the viewers are left speculating. With that being said, here are 25 anime with the best endings.

Chotto Matte 1

Please understand that this list is completely subjective, and this is just my version of the anime with the BEST ENDINGS, so let’s jump right into it!

The thought of being in a room alone frightens me and here we have a show where we experience what lost in space feels like. This show is the absolute dark horse of 2019 that went under the radar. But here I am once again asking for you, the viewers, to try this show.

The show’s plot is in the year 2063, space travel has become common and we are in a world where humans have started traveling to space

Our protagonist, Aries, arrives at the spaceport but she probably woke up that day and watched the ending of Sword Art Online, because her day was about to get trashy. She loses her purse to a space thief and gets stranded during her space journey and is now fighting for her life to survive in space.

I know what you’re thinking. What kind of sick weeb would ever go for a…I don’t even dare to say it, 3D Girl!!! Eww, who needs 3D girls when you have 2D waifus.

Real Girl is an anime that revolves around the story of two outcasts coming closer and supporting each other’s needs. The story consists of Hikari, a boy whose life revolves around 2D girls, games, and anime. He thinks life is simpler that way. This has made him socially awkward and the class weirdo.

On the other hand, there is Iroha, the girl with lots of rumors. Rumors about her character, about her personality, about her just being a normal human being. Real Girl shows us how a day of punishment brought these two together and from then on, how they overcome their problems.

Do you know what’s worse than hiding the fact that you are a fan of anime? The answer is hiding the fact that you are a fan of fujoshi. Wotakoi is an amazing rom-com anime that shows us the life of four weebs and their struggles with office work and anime.

Narumi, our heroine, woke up late for her first day at work because someone was probably binge-watching One Piece when they should have been sleeping. As she enters her office, she finds out her middle school friend Hirotaka works in the same office and he could sabotage her reputation by spreading the news about her being an otaku

If that wasn’t enough, she also blows her cover in front of Hanako, her senior. Luckily Hanako and Hirotaka are otakus and they promise to keep Narumi’s secret. The show represents the love life of Narumi and Hirotaka or should I say, it’s a Gamer and Otaku love story. I guess dreams do come true, some of us gamers do get a girlfriend if we know their dark secret.

As the title states, Tada Never Falls in Love. That’s it!!! That’s the anime. Go watch it.

Tada is a guy who focuses on his career more than anything and in his life, he has never even thought about falling in love with someone. His passion for photography is his way of focusing on his life and that has made it difficult for Tada to get a girlfriend.

One day Tada meets a girl named Teresa, a typical blonde European girl that would be a tsundere if they followed the rules while making this anime. Instead, Teresa is a sweet girl who was lost that day while sightseeing, and Tada helped her find her partner.

He also clicked some photos for Teresa. While doing so, this was the first time Tada felt something for any girl. The story is very wholesome with an even better ending.

As we have seen from time and time again, necromancy is never a good idea in any anime. Unless you are watching Sankarea. Rea, our heroine, comes to a well and screams inside it about her embarrassments and oppressions. What she doesn’t know is, that place is a hideout of Chihiro. A dude who has been obsessed with zombies ever since he was a child.

After an encounter of these two, Chihiro tells Rea about his dead cat, wow man, very smooth. You’re definitely going to get laid. So Chihiro wants to resurrect his dead cat and Rea, being bored, wants to help. They get the potion made with hydrangea flowers (poisonous when eaten).

One day Rea had a fight with her parents and tries to commit suicide by drinking the resurrection potion. The potion did kill her, but she did not die. She came back as a zombie. Now, suddenly Chihiro has a heart for her. Overall, it’s a great love story about a human and a zombie falling in love.

You know, back in the 2000s there was this trend of making anime where the school had many secrets and the protagonist solves the secrets. This is like one of those shows. But this time, we got a hot ghost helping us.

Yuuko, our friendly neighborhood ghost, haunts Seikyou Private Academy. She doesn’t remember how she died, nor does she have her memories. Together with her, Taiichi, our MC, solves the seven mysteries of their school to find out the truth behind Yuuko’s death. The show is both horror and romantic at the same time. The comedy really hits hard with this one and it’s ending is just a cherry on top.

It has been our dream to take mankind to Mars one day. In this anime, mankind has already started the migration to Mars. Humanity has reached its scientific research to the point where AI now controls most of the work for humans

During this age, you might think people almost forgot about music and let robots take over every industry. But Carole still stuck to her roots and plays the keyboard at night.

Tuesday, on the other hand, is frustrated with her wealthy family and their expectations. She wants to pursue her career in music. One day, she ran away from home to pursue her career and met Carole during one of her street performances.

This lucky encounter made them want to join together and spread their love for music. The show has low drama and comedy but it still surprised us all with its amazing animation and beautiful music. Definitely, a must-watch show. It’s very underrated.

Adventure anime has become somewhat of a rare genre today. Besides Shonen anime, how many anime can you name where the protagonists go on a wild adventure filled with memories. A Place Further Than the Universe shows us that we should enjoy our youth while we can. Make enough memories to tell stories to our grandchildren. The show has amazing visuals and great storytelling.

Humans have a tendency to fear the unknown. They do not want to face it unless they are forced to. The show has four protagonists Shirase, Hinata, Yuzuki, and Mari.

After the sudden disappearance of Shirase’s mother, she has been wanting to go on a journey to find her mother. But because of the funding and ridicule of society, she always lost hope at the last moment.

Until Mari, a wannabe traveler, filled with curiosity joined her and supported her journey. Joining the two of them, Hinata and Yuzuki embark on a journey to Antarctica to find Shirase’s lost mother. The show gives us an amazing visual of the struggles of traveling and the excitement of finding something new.

We have always had that moment in life when we thought if only we could go back and change the past, maybe then our life would become a little better. Most of us have regrets like that. ReLife focuses on that exact regret.

Arata, our MC, despises his life and the choices he made in his high school. He has become a 27-year-old loner with almost no achievements in life. But one day, a mysterious company approaches him that offers him a second chance in life. They offer a pill that would make his appearance look 10 years younger.

Arata didn’t think much about it and agreed to their terms. Later on, he goes to High school for a second time and makes new friends. He falls in love, makes memories, gets into goofy situations, and enjoys his life. The show is very dramatic at times but getting a second chance in life is like a dream to us and Arata is living this dream.

For some reason, Japan has a thing for long anime titles. For the sake of keeping things short, let’s just call it Chunibyo. Chunibyo is a word used in Japanese to define someone who has grown in age but not in mind. People who are called Chunibyo are still childish and they live in a world of their own.

Most people outgrow this phase, but not this girl. Rikka, our protagonist, suffers from Chunibyo syndrome and often gets ridiculed by society for showing her delusions to others.

Love Chunibyo Other Delusions 1

Yuuta on the other hand is a former Chunibyo. He felt shame at a time because of his delusions and now tries to hide his personality. He used to go by the name “Dark Flame Master” during middle school. Not going to lie, that name does sound pretty cool.

So, Yuuta and Rikka are in the same class and Rikka has taken a weird interest in Yuuta. Though at first, Yuuta tries to avoid Rikka, later on, he opens up to her and protects her many times. The show has very wholesome comedic timing with a hint of romance.

If you’re a 2000s kid, then you definitely remembered Toradora’s opening song just now. That song is so catchy that it still plays in my mind today. Toradora is a show that focuses on how people see you as a person. It teaches you how to overcome your physical appearance and better yourself. The show has amazing comedic timing and just slaps it when it comes to romance.

Taiga, a rebellious girl, has earned the name of “Palmtop Tiger” because of her small appearance yet amazing strength. Then there is Ryuuji, who has a golden heart but nobody comes close to him because of his intimidating appearance. The two of them team up to help each other get their loved ones. But everything seems to fail somehow.

conclusion

Despite that, the two still support each other and are there for each other when needed. Correction- Ryuuji is there for Taiga when she needs it. Taiga’s solution for helping is punching Ryuuji in the face.

The show also shows us both character’s weaknesses. It shows Taiga’s loneliness and struggle for acceptance. On the other hand, it also shows Ryuuji’s social anxiety and awkwardness. Here is some advice, next time you meet someone that has a badass name like Palmtop Tiger, maybe don’t call them chibi.

You might criticize me for putting Katanagatari here. But to me, not every ending has to be a happy one. After watching Katanagatari’s ending, many fans were sad for some time and took it to social media. But what the show did was show us what reality often is. It showed us the ending that made the MC, Shichika, who he is today.

A great historic anime, placed in the Edo-era of Japan, Shuchika is a unique sword-style user. His technique uses his own body to become a lethal weapon. Shichika lived quietly, until one day a genius strategist arrived.

Togame, the strategist, wants Shichika to accompany her to find the 12 legendary swords. Shichika, being interested in the offer, embarks on the journey with Togame, where he fights strong opponents and hones his skills as a swordsman.

Coming in at number 13, another historic anime during the samurai era. When Dororo ended, it gave us chills. It was the dark horse during that season. It came from nowhere and became one of the best anime of all time. Its ending was very simple, yet very impactful. Definitely watch if you’re into revenge plots.

During the famine, Daigo, a greedy samurai lord wanted to save his land and its people from dying. Though the main reason was for him to not lose power and status, Daigo strayed from the path of Gods and started praying to the demons

The demons heard his prayers and 12 demons saved his land but at the cost of his newborn child. This child had no eyes, no ears, no skin, no limbs, yet he lives. The child was forced to walk on earth as a living corpse. That child was Hyakkimaru. Now, after all these years, Hyakkimaru returns, killing anything in his path to take his revenge.

Your Lie in April is the tragic story of Arima, a genius who once was famous for his piano playing skills but his mom made him grind too much in his skill and this dude lost his ability to hear his own music. Though I am joking about the anime, this is a real tear-jerker.

After watching the ending, we, the viewers, were left with nothing but tears in our eyes and respect for the production house that did everything right.

During Arima’s high school days, he meets Kaori, an amazing violin player. It’s her dream to one day play on the grand stage with Arima. Throughout the anime, Kaori pushes Arima to his limits and cures him of his illness while she suffers from her own problems.

After hearing Dattebayo every 5 seconds and watching the wretched swing for at least 500 episodes, we viewers finally got the satisfying end to Naruto. You might argue and say, but the show continues in Boruto. No, we don’t talk about that. Boruto isn’t at that level yet. That brat needs a good beating.

After watching 500 episodes of Naruto outgrowing his annoying voice and doing dumb stuff, we finally see Naruto achieve everything he ever hoped for. We also wished the show would end there as we were satisfied. But they just had to release Boruto. Maybe my view on Boruto will change in a few years but right now, Naruto Shippuden’s ending was very satisfying. The only regret I have is master Jiraiya not getting his 106 centimeters.

Even now, after all these years, Assassination Classroom is the one series that makes me tear up. Never have I ever seen a teacher this much dedicated to their students. Koro-sensei taught us the joy of learning and how to murder a space octopus.

The plot starts when a mysterious creature chops the moon in half and threatens to destroy the earth at a certain time if his claims are not met. That’s when we see Kuro sensei first enter the classroom and a room full of kids shoot with bb guns at him.

The show has shown us that every student is different and everyone learns differently. The ending of the show not only fills all the plot holes but also shows us what the students become in the future.

Gurren Lagann had one of the satisfying endings in my opinion. The final fight gave us goosebumps. Don’t get me started at the amazing animation of that fight. Also, if nothing gets you to watch the show, there is always a sniper wearing a bikini that might motivate you to check it out.

When humanity started living underground, Kamina and Simon wanted to see what the surface had for them. They wanted to explore the unknown. One day they found a mecha with a drill that finally gave them the opportunity to explore what’s up top. I don’t know how to even explain the show, it’s pure hype.

From snipers wearing a bikini to girls sword fighting in their swimsuits, Kill La Kill is a show that portrays a revenge plot in an amazing comedic way that eases the show for anyone to understand.

After the murder of Ryuuko’s father, Ryuuko now wields the murder weapon to find the killer and take revenge for her father. Wandering in search of the killer, she arrives at Honnouji Academy where she meets Satsuki, a similar blade user that might know about the mystery of her father’s death.

The show is filled with action-packed fights and amazing animation. Even the supporting characters have their own personality and development here.

Ever wondered what it’s like in the afterlife? Angel Beats is a show that portrays a high school for the dead. Here they awaken with amnesia and fight against God. Angel Beats tells us how to let go of things and stop regretting life. It helps us find closure in the afterlife.

The show also has amazing comedy. We see a bunch of kids during exams doing goofy stuff to cheat during an exam. This has often lightened a serious scene and made the viewer chuckle. But the ending was the most heartfelt

As we watch the show, we slowly realize that it’s showing us to let our regrets go, even letting go of our friends is part of life. In the end, there is only you that can make your life filled with joy.

Cowboy Bebop is a show that almost any generation can enjoy. It’s filled with action, stories, and some comedy. I mean, you have space pirates, what’s not to like?

The year is 2071 and humanity has migrated to space. By doing so, they have also started doing criminal activities in space. That’s why there is a huge demand for bounty hunters. Spike, Faye, Jet, and Edward work as a team to find each bounty and that’s their livelihood. During some of their missions, we also get to see their character backstories.

This backstory made a huge impact when we saw the final fight and the epic ending. The ending really ties things together and makes us feel satisfied. Though many people might neglect this show because of its animation. But the story puts this show very high on the list.

I always had a feeling that we the viewers or the manga readers do not appreciate mangakas as much as we should. They create amazing works of art just for us and they don’t even get paid well.

Bakuman is a show that gives us a deep dive into how a mangaka struggles and how ruthless the manga community is. We are shown the hardship of different mangakas just to stay in employment. Because if your manga doesn’t sell well, the companies won’t even acknowledge your existence.

Mix that with an amazing mangaka that sells millions of manga each week and you just got an amazing rival for your protagonist. Bakuman might not be a show for everyone. It is slow-paced and story-driven. But it takes its time in showing us the reality and how two MCs, Moritaka and Akito chase their dream to become the best mangaka of all time.

After the huge roller coaster that Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood took us on, those boys deserve some happiness. If I ever had to answer what anime had the best textbook ending? That would be this one.

Edward and Alphonse lose their limbs while resurrecting their dead mother using alchemy. Because in their world, nothing is free and everything comes at a cost. Now both brothers are in the military, trying to find out the hidden secrets of alchemy and how to get their lost body parts back.

The show is filled with action and comedy regarding Edward’s height. But I’d say the most unique character that stole the show was definitely Scar. Without giving any spoilers, the show actually ended on a good note.

3. Death Note

Probably a controversial statement from me but I actually think Death Note had a decent ending. After all the things Light has done, don’t you think he deserved what came to him. Death Note played such a psychological game with us that the viewers got confused about which side is good and which is bad.

After receiving a notebook of the reaper, Light started killing all the criminals he saw on the news. This caused a mass fear among the people and Light became sort of the god of death. But when He met his match L, he had to take precautions to save his own life. The mental game in this show kept us on edge for quite a while. Truly, a masterpiece show.

The concept of time traveling always mind blows most anime shows. Steins;Gate took that to another level. Imagine time traveling with a banana. I wonder how many of you tried this after watching Steins;Gate.

After successfully traveling through time, Rintarou started messing with the timeline. This caused the timeline to split into two streams and reality to change. Now Rintarou, Kurisu, Mayuri, and Itaru need to go back to fix the timeline again. The show might confuse a few viewers but once you go past 8 episodes, it all becomes clear.

Lastly, we have Code Geass with its iconic ending that left everyone shocked. This is hands down the best ending I have ever seen. The storyline and the character development was so good with Code Geass that Lelouch stole the show until the very end.

Lelouch finally achieved his goal and brought a revolution to a new world. Do I even need to tell you the plot? You already know. Guy gets the power to control people and starts to conquer Britannia. Some big brain moves Lelouch did in this show makes him a clear MVP in the series.
