When we think of Isekai, we usually think of overpowered MC with girls or boys surrounding them throughout their journey (YES! I’m talking about the HAREM). Isekai is, in general, a genre of light novels, manga, anime, and video games that surround around a person who gets transported to and has to survive in another world.
With that being said, today, we are going to talk about some of the best isekai anime that’s been created and if you’ve been keeping up you know, there has been a lot of isekai anime being made during the past few years.
Table of Contents
The genre today has become an overused and saturated method for anime production houses to make good money. So, here are the best isekai anime worth watching-
Table of Contents
26. Princess Connect! Re: Dive

Normally when we see some anime come out of a mobile game, we assume it’s trash. But that’s not the case here. The show is pretty simple. Guy falls from the sky into a fantasy world with all his memories lost and somehow gets his own harem.
I know, you already like the plot. The show is pretty much cute girls doing cute things in another world. The MC is not even that important. The girls literally steal the show in this one. Do give this one a try if you’re into wholesome anime.
25. Kekkai Sensen
Kekkai Sensen is similar to the anime Gate. Similar to that anime we get a portal that opens up one day connecting the human world to the demon world. Our story begins after 3 years when the humans and monsters are living in harmony.
The scenery and art style alone was a big selling point in this one. Give this one a try for amazing visuals.
24. InuYasha
Only the older generation remembers this one. We millennials grew up watching Inuyasha and it has a lot of memories intertwined with our childhood. In Inuyasha, the heroine gets dragged down a well by a demon and she gets isekaied.
She gets dragged down because a powerful wish-granting jewel is reborn inside her body. But since the jewel gets smashed, she gets the help of a man. They go on a journey and collect all the shards. It’s a really classic show that you should watch if you’re into old-school anime.
23. Do You Love Your Mom And Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?
If you ever thought, where did we go wrong? Then this is it. From banging oni chan to now trying to bang your mom in another world. This is a real trash isekai filled with fan service. Some people even call this milfsekai genre. The plot is self-explanatory.
The MC and his mom get transported to another world but the mom gets very overpowered by swords and skills but the son gets unlucky and has to rely on his mom to save him every time.
22. Problem Children Are Coming From Another World, Aren’t They?
If you thought the title was self-explanatory, then you are right. The main trio consists of teens who already possess psychic abilities and are bored in the real world. But when they are offered to go to a different world, they get to relieve their boredom.
Soon, they are seen fighting under a guild named “no name”. This is a typical isekai where everyone is overpowered but the plot is somewhat good so you can binge this one.
21. I’m Standing On A Million Lives
Well, how many has it been? Another game-related isekai. This one gives us a twist by introducing us to the game master and the protagonist receiving random class-based powers. The second twist is the protagonists go to another universe meaning there are probably two plot lines.
But the problem is none of the people who are summoned have ever played a game and do not know how to survive in a game world. So it is up to our MC to save them and become the hero that he was destined to be.

30+ Strongest One Piece Characters (RANKED)
Updated July 25, 2022 by The Wano arc is at its end, and we’ve seen a lot of action go about Onigashima, which gave spotlight to a lot of characters especially the Yonko, Supernovas, and the Straw Hats. The bloodshed around Onigashima is an indication of how it’s riddled by powerhouses on every corner. But
29+ Isekai Anime With Overpowered Main Character!
Updated July 27, 2022 by Ernie Isekai anime are notorious for their use of overpowered characters, most notably the protagonist, however, in recent years we have gotten to see even overpowered supporting characters. You might think it is weird watching a show where the protagonist can defeat his opponents by lifting just a finger, but
20. Didn’t I Say To Make My Abilities Average In The Next Life?
In this anime, the protagonist is literally struggling from success, living her entire life alone and isolated as people envy her for her skills. So when she is given the choice to be reborn, she asks to be completely average.
But the gods are complete trolls and make her the daughter of a noble with magical abilities. In short, the story is about how she tries to stay low and live her life as normal as she can.
19. Ascendance Of A Bookworm
This one is kinda unique, even for isekai genre. It’s about a girl who loved to read so much that she got reincarnated and she just continued to love reading. That’s it.
The twist is that she got reincarnated in a fantasy world so the books aren’t normal and she has to get creative to fix the problems that she faces inside the books. It’s a bit of a slice-of-life type isekai. But once you get invested in it then it’s good to watch.
18. Drifters
When Drifters came out, it was like a new dish everyone tried. Nobody imagined we would see so many historical figures in the same timeline, fighting for power.
The plot goes like this- Great warriors from all over the earth are transported into a fantasy world and are given the title of Drifters. It is their job to fight and end an all-out war.
The show has amazing visuals and very clever characters who use their strength to their advantage to win battles. Give this one a try for amazing fights and great storytelling.
17. Restaurant To Another World

Everyone knows Food Wars. This is the toned-down version of Food Wars where they threw away all the romance and gave us a wholesome food anime.
The plot is different though. The show is really good. Instead of the usual isekai where everyone fights for survival, we get a show where our protagonists are running a restaurant.
But this restaurant is different. On off days, its door becomes a portal from where people from another world come and eat at the restaurant. The show is pretty funny, has an amazing atmosphere, and has stunning visuals. If you want a chilled laidback anime to binge, then this would be it.
16. The Familiar Of Zero
Do you like to be whipped? Well, then this show is just for you. As the name states our protagonist is familiar in this world, meaning, he has been summoned and as familiars are in a bond of master and slave, Zero, our main girl is the master and boy does she like slavery.
The MC is overpowered in thought but he is basically a slave. The show is about a girl who can not excel in magic and the boy is her familiar from modern Japan.

55+ Best Isekai Anime (RECOMMENDATIONS)
Updated July 27, 2022 by If you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know what Isekai is, I’ll explain it to you. Isekai is an anime genre where the main character/s gets reincarnated, teleported, or gets stuck in another world. The Isekai genre is one of the most popular genres in the decade and
15. How Not To Summon A Demon Lord
Since people liked the Isekai genre so much we were introduced to this hidden gem called How Not to Summon a Demon Lord.
The setup is very typical with our protagonist being a summon who is a gamer and is specifically good in this game where he is summoned.
Claiming to be the demon lord, we enter a world of adventure and lots of fan service. But there is some breathing room there because the show is equally funny and has good fighting scenes.
14. The Ambition Of Oda Nobuna

This is an odd isekai. You never hear cute girls and historical battlefields in the same sentence. Well, this is what the anime is about.
Our protagonist gets sent back in time and with a quite harem twist. The warlords in Japan are now cute girls. So the MC uses his knowledge of history to predict battles and aid the best girl, Oda Nobuna to conquer Japan.
13. In Another World With My Smartphone
This show is exceptionally good. The premise goes like, the guy gets struck by lighting and on accident and God says “sorry man here is your phone now go to this fantasy world”
You can’t make this up. The show does go into harem mode pretty quickly though. But the show has clever jokes and good fighting scenes. So, it’s worth watching.
12. My Next Life As A Villainess: All Routes Lead To Doom!
Have you ever played a dating simulation? Well, this anime is exactly that. The only problem is, you are the villainess of the game and no matter what you do, all routes lead to death.
Our protagonist, reborn inside her favorite game, quickly regains her memories and struggles to find a way to remove the red flags and not die. It is a romcom and a really feel-good anime if you’re into watching that.
11. Arifureta

Arifureta is straight up a story about how someone goes from Zero to Hero. The plot starts when the protagonist and his class get transported to a fantasy world with the mission of saving the world. Being given an unexceptional power, MC gets screwed and is betrayed in a labyrinth.
He then has to use his wits to make his unique power even more powerful and become the strongest in the world. Arifureta is somewhat similar to Shield Hero but it has its own comedic tone at times.

10. Konosuba
Considered as one of the funniest anime to exist, Konosuba is a roller-coaster of a show. With goofy characters and even goofier protagonists, the plot focuses on MC getting into ridiculous situations with his acquaintances.
Being accompanied by a useless god, a magician who only knows one spell, and Konosuba brings in a whole lot of comedy to the plate.
9. The Rising Of The Shield Hero
Remember the time when the Rising of the Shield Hero took social media by storm? The rising shield hero was the first-ever isekai that surrounded its plot in a revenge story.
Naofumi is summoned to another world and is given a power that is only good for defense and if he wasn’t unlucky enough, he is also charged with trying to force the princess.
So yeah, you can already guess, this show gets dark real fast and it’s the audience’s hate for the culprit and the want to see MC succeed is what makes this show so great.
8. Saga Of Tanya The Evil

Saga of Tanya the Evil follows the story of a salaryman who is reincarnated into a new world as Tanya.
Tanya enlists in the military, armed with knowledge and power, she rises through her ranks in hope of having a life of luxury and world domination.
Personally speaking, the show is worth the watch. It has amazing visuals and even better fight scenes.
7. Grimgar: Fantasy & Ash Follows A Group Of Novices Rather Than Gods
When we talk about isekai shows, the topic of overpowered characters comes to mind. While there is nothing wrong with watching overpowered MC, it is refreshing seeing a change of pace to see one show that follows a novice adventure group.
The series is a bit slow-paced but overall, the experience is very enjoyable.
6. Log Horizon
Similar to Overlord, this is also an MMORPG-based isekai where MC gets trapped in a game world. But Log Horizon is different because of its intelligent writing. The show is very clever, political, and has a well-written story.
Even though the plot is slow sometimes, I assure you will not get bored. Watch our MC climb to the top of the power chain and help create a better more sustainable game world with his acquaintances.

15+ Anime Where MC is an Overpowered Transfer Student
Updated July 26, 2022 by Ernie Transfer Students. Yes, those guys that suddenly appear, steal the whole show, get the girl, and make us all feel like side characters. And if you add the overpowered to that, well…good luck buddy because you’re not the main character of this story. Overpowered main characters in anime aren’t
5. Re; Zero Starting Life In Another World
The first Isekai to ever focus on a down-and-out regular guy with no powers. Though many of the classic tropes are displayed in this series, all those are thrown out of the way because the story is so good.
The world is gruesome and our MC has to go through a bunch of hardships to keep his friends alive. Also, Rem is the best girl and you can’t change my mind.
4. No Game No Life

No Game No Life is a unique show that dives into the psychology of a hikikomori sibling that just happens to be one of the best gamers. When challenged by God, MC is transferred to this fantasy world where he and his sister solve every problem with some sort of game.
The show has great taste in comedy and some fan service here and there. The best part of this show is the showdowns they do to get the chess pieces that they need to challenge God to a rematch.
3. That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime
This show is an Isekai that somehow manages to get every isekai feature in one show and then just breaks the feature. That’s what makes reincarnated as a slime such a good show.
The show starts in the most generic way as every isekai does. Our MC dies in his world and magically is reborn in this fantasy world. But this time he is a slime. The lowest creature in the food chain. The story is about how a puny slime became the all-mighty Demon Lord of this world.
Reincarnated as a Slime has more characters than any isekai show made and surprisingly, the anime has been done justice.
Every important character has had some sort of character development at some point in the show and that’s what makes this show one of the best isekai ever made.
One of the strongest points is the characters and how they evolved as the show has gone.
2. Overlord
One of the most well-known and popular isekai series is Overlord. It has everything you wish every Isekai had. It’s epic, funny, heartfelt, and most importantly well-animated. The story focuses on what it feels like to have near limitless powers.
Overlord is about a long-time RPG gamer being stuck in the gaming world and not being able to log out. It’s like one day he was suddenly teleported to the world he was playing in.
While stuck in a gaming world is not a new concept, overlord does the show justice by putting in followers of our MC who have hilarious and sarcastic lines that only the audience gets. The show is super fun and definitely makes you feel how badass the MC is.
1. Mushoku Tensei

Mushoku Tensei or Jobless Reincarnation incorporates the story of a 34-year-old man who gets reincarnated in a different fantasy world filled with magic, beasts, and cute demi-humans. (We all stand Raphtalia)
Personally speaking, the show sets itself apart from other isekai shows by setting the stage from the beginning and showing us the hardship of the MC who is at the end of his rope and is given a second chance in this new world.
Mushoku Tensei has amazing storytelling and character development. It has occasional fanservice scenes and an amazing way of setting a dark tone when it needs. It feels like one moment, you’re enjoying light jokes, and the other moment people are dying. The show is considered the father of all Isekai. So, do give it a try.
Conclusion
That’s it for the world of Isekai and its harem-oriented storyline (Just kidding.) But seriously, Isekai anime where MC Get’s transported to another world is a whole nother story, isn’t it? What is your favorite anime out of these?

Cautious hero:the hero is overpowerd but cautious.
Nice writing style. Very creative !
The image and actual description for number 12 My Next Life As A Villainess: All Routes Lead To Doom! do not match are actually of two separate things>
The name and description are of, My Next Life As A Villainess: All Routes Lead To Doom!, where a girl is reincarnated into her favourite dating sim, but as the villainess character.
Whereas the image between the title and description is for the manga Master Villainess the Invincible which is a story about a romance fantasy author who gets transported into the story of a popular martial arts novel.
Ah, nice catch! Thank you. I’ll fix that.
