You’ve probably noticed by now, but not everyone was gifted with amazing fighting skills in the Tokyo Revengers series. The main protagonist, Takemichi Hanagaki, is probably one of the weakest fighters in the show but that doesn’t stop him from achieving incredible feats of heroism. Not only Takemichi, but his merry band of delinquents is the same. Let’s get to know the leader and fashionista of Takemichi’s friend group, Atsushi Sendo.

Appearance
Atsushi Sendo has different appearances in the past and in several future timelines. As of now, there are a total of 4 variations. One when he was in Middle School, another when he was a Toman executive, when he became a trainee hairstylist, and when he was in High School.
During Middle School, Atsushi Sendo or called Akkun by Takemichi and the others, styled a lush pompadour hairstyle with hairpins keeping it in place. Akkun also wore the uniform of his middle school with baggy pants Chapter 1.
When Takemichi went back to the future for the second time after befriending Mikey from the past, the two met when Takemichi and Naoto tried to investigate what happened to Toman. Akkun had shaved his hair and was an executive of Toman. He wore a plain white t-shirt, black pants, sleeve tattoos, and accessories Chapter 7. However, Akkun went back to his Middle School appearance when Takemichi saved Draken from Kiyomasa Chapter 30.
Lastly, after Takemichi got killed by Mikey, he went back to the past and met Akkun and the rest of Toman in High School Chapter 207. In all of his appearances, Akkun has Plum-colored hair and his eyes are a shade of heather
Personality
Akkun is one of the few characters that displays leadership abilities. Although a below-average fighter, he makes it up with confidence and determination just like Takemichi and Shinichiro. He is also very caring and will even resort to murder to protect his friends, such as the case when he killed Kiyomasa in an another timeline after Kiyomasa abused them Chapter 3.
Despite having courage and determination, Akkun however doesn’t have a strong resolve like Takemichi. He was subjected to several manipulations by Kisaki and was the reason Hina was killed in almost all of the timelines. Akkun admitted in several instances that he fears Kisaki and can’t do anything but follow his orders.
Strengths and Skills
Subpar Fighting Abilities
Birds of the same feather flock together. That’s the only phrase that could describe Takemichi’s friends in middle school. All of them don’t have an advantage when it comes to throwing punches but they make it up with pure determination and the drive to win. They helped in fighting Kiyomasa’s group when they attacked Takemichi and Draken in Chapter 27 and even showed up at the fight against Tenjiku.
Even when they were easily beaten by Kiyomasa and his group in their first encounter Chapter 1, they still walked forward with Akkun and Takemichi leading the way.

Past/History
During the first instance Takemichi went to the past, he, Akkun, Makoto, Yamagishi, and Takuya waited at a park after they picked a fight with the second-years of Shibuya Middle School. To their surprise, Kiyomasa and the third-years arrived and beat up Akkun and his friends. Kiyomasa then made them their slaves and proclaimed that they were now grunts of the Tokyo Manji Gang Chapter 1.
After Takemichi changed the future when he stopped Draken from dying, they met Akkun who was now an executive of Toman. Akkun figured out that Takemichi was a time-traveler and came clean that he was the one that pushed Takemichi off the tracks. He told Takemichi to save him and committed suicide Chapter 7.

Takemichi Hanagaki
Takemichi Hanagaki is the main protagonist of the Tokyo Revengers series and is called the “Crybaby Hero” by his friends. Takemichi is not a very strong fighter but rose the ranks of Toman.
Makoto Suzuki
Makoto Suzuki is probably the biggest in their friend group but is still weak when it comes to fighting. He has semi-long black hair and also went to the same High School as Akkun.
Kazushi Yamagishi
Kazushi Yamagishi is the most idiotic in the group and often sticks with Makoto. He wore glasses because he thought it would make him smarter.
Takuya Yamamoto
Takuya Yamamoto has a very frail body even though he’s a delinquent that loves to find fights. He’s the weakest member of the group due to his condition but they care for him nonetheless.
Plot
Akkun appeared in several big moments in the series. In an alternate timeline, he killed Kiyomasa and became your typical punk but because of Takemichi’s actions, he became an executive of Toman. After he revealed that Kisaki was the mastermind behind Toman’s corruption, he killed himself Chapter 7.
When Takemichi successfully prevented Draken’s death and Toman from being split in half, Akkun became a trainee hairstylist. Takemichi went to see Hina. He left the car for a moment but another vehicle crashed on the car while Hina was in it. When he checked who was the driver, he was shocked to see it was Akkun and that Kisaki gave him the order to kill Hina Chapter 33.
Akkun eventually became a member of Toman’s 1st Division and participated in the battle against Tenjiku Chapter 153, Chapter 154. As the battle ended with horrific results and several deaths, Mikey decided to disband Toman Chapter 188, Chapter 189. Everyone thought this was the end of Takemichi’s journey but Takemichi went back to the past once more and saw Akkun in High School Chapter 207.
Final Verdict
Akkun was not just any side character that was given the spotlight a few times. He had important roles that drove the story and was one of the reasons why Takemichi wanted to change the future. Akkun influenced the decisions of Takemichi and his actions helped in achieving Takemichi’s perfect outcome.
