She could kill anybody in the blink of an eye. General Gilbert was the only one who treated her like a human. But she always got confused with how he behaved with her.
Violet Evergarden soon got very close to General Gilbert, depending heavily on him. Soon, Violet’s life came crashing down when General Gilbert died during the war. The only thing he left Violet with were the words “I Love You”. She then woke up in a hospital, alone. She was then handed over to a family who was supposed to raise. However, they couldn’t do it and Violet was left abandoned.
Violet started her new life as an Auto Memory Doll at CH Postal Services. Now, what an Auto Memory Doll does is transcribe a person’s feelings in written form. It’s like sending a letter to someone but written by some other person. Violet goes to different places in order to meet her clients and writes their feelings on paper, delivering them to their loved ones. This will eventually lead Violet to the answers to her questions and will also change the lives of her clients.

She fails again and again to write something of Irma’s liking. It’s only when Ardu, Irma’s conductor, explains to Violet what Irma wants.
