Every teenager and their soon-to-be-born child knows what this anime is. It basically took the anime community by storm when it first started airing. It has everything we want. We got fights, we got badass gangs, we got a bit of romance, and best of all, we have that amazing thing we call TIME TRAVEL.

The most beautiful phrase I can use to describe Tokyo Revengers is that it’s basically “an edgy Steins; Gate”. It’s not like it’s subpar but it actually created a very unique concept of its own. Some people might compare it to erased but did the characters there punch the living daylights out of somebody?
Enough of that because we’re not here to compare anime. We’re here to teach you how to watch Tokyo Revengers in order! Come with me my fellow delinquents and let me show you the way.

TOKYO REVENGERS SEASON 1
Tokyo Revengers Season 1 started airing its first episode on the Spring Season of Anime in 2021 or more accurately, on April 11, 2021. We all know what happened in April, don’t we? Sayonara, blonde-haired girl who can play the violin.
Other than airing in April, it had 24 episodes in total and each lasted for more or less 24 minutes. It was animated by LIDENFILMS who are famous for animating shows like Arslan Senki and some parts of Berserk’s remake. Honestly, they did a decent job animating the show, especially the first half of the series.
The first season starts off with an everyday nobody who’s getting chewed out by his boss. Takemichi Hanagaki’s daily life consists of nothing but mood-destroying events. As he reaches his rundown apartment and casually turns on his TV, a piece of breaking news starts broadcasting on his TV. There was an incident involving a group called the Tokyo Manji Gang.
It didn’t bother Takemichi until the names of the ones who died were revealed—Hinata and Naoto Tachibana. Why did it feel familiar to Takemichi? As his memories started flooding back, he remembered that Hinata was actually his girlfriend way back in middle school. She was the only person that supported him, the only person that actually loved him.
After another hard day at work, while he was waiting at the train station, someone suddenly pushed him off the tracks. While he was processing what was happening, fate had other options. The train was already only a few meters from him. A bright light enveloped his surroundings and then everything turned black.
Next thing he knew when he opened his eyes, he was already back in middle school, 12 years ago. He met his friends again. They had a delinquent group and they had each other’s backs, a far cry from the life he led when he was an adult. They tried to fight some other middle schoolers from another school but what they got was something much worse. They were destroyed by a group of third years and at the end of it, they were bloodied and bruised.
As he was walking home, Takemichi thought about the most important thing he could do right now. He left his friends and started running through the dark alleys and empty roads until he finally arrived at the apartment building. He can’t remember the face, he can’t remember the voice… all he can remember was the warmth he felt when he was with that person.
He arrived at one of the apartment doors. He rang the doorbell and waited anxiously. Someone opened the door and Takemichi was dumbfounded. It was the person he valued the most, Hinata Tachibana. As Hinata told Takemichi off for fighting, his tears started pouring out. It was her alright, without a doubt.
After a series of events, Takemichi promises himself that he’ll save Hinata even if it means going through time back and forth. Even if it meant fighting against a goliath of an enemy. Even if it meant he had to destroy or rather, take over the Tokyo Manji Gang.
CHIBI REVENGERS
Chibi Revengers is basically Tokyo Revenger’s Isekai Quartet. It had 24 2-minute long episodes which were considered specials referenced from the manga. The first episode aired on April 12, 2021, while it ended on September 20, 2021.
This compilation of specials was a collaboration between Studio PuYUKAI and LIDENFILMS. Nothing interesting happened and it only featured the daily lives of the different characters in the series.
CONCLUSION
That’s it for the official Tokyo Revengers Watch Order! It’s only a short anime so far but it’s without a doubt that it’ll most likely have more and more seasons as the years go by. Tokyo Revengers’ manga sales were massive and the anime became popular even in the west.
So, I’ll leave you with that, my ninjas! Let us know in the comments if this blog helped you or if you want us to make a watch order about an anime you like.
