1. The Slayers (1995)
The anime follows the story of a sorceress named Lina Inverse who traveled across the world to steal precious items from the bandits she came across during her journey. When a bunch of bandits decide to take revenge on her, she finds herself in a bit of a pickle. That’s when our very strong yet dumb swordsman named Gourry Gabriev comes there. He saves our damsel in distress from the bands of bandits and takes her to the city of Atlas where he was heading to. Initially, Lina didn’t want to go with him but decided to follow him later. Lina doesn’t know yet but she possesses a very precious magical item and she stole it from one of the bands of bandits. Now, two men are looking for Lina and the magical item she stole from them. Lina, on the other hand, has teamed up with a golem named Zelgadis, a princess named Amelia and obviously, our oblivious swordsman, Gourry Gabriev. The story is about their misadventures as they travel across the world.
2. The Slayers Next
Lina and Gourry are reunited with old friends Zelgadis and Princess Ameilia Wil Tesla Saillune in the kingdom of Xoana. They decide to thwart the King of Xoana’s and his daughter’s plan to conquer the world after learning of it. The group learns of Zelgadis’ plan to locate a valuable magical tome known as the Claire Bible, which could transform him from a golem to a human. Despite Zelgadis’ protests, the group decides to assist him with his plan now that they are aware of it. The group is unsure where to begin their search for the tome. They soon come across a priest named Xellos who claims to be able to assist them. Lina’s life is also threatened by some mysterious monsters. What do they want from Lina and who are they?
3. The Slayers Try
Lina Inverse and her companions are gearing up for their next adventure. Several kingdoms were trapped behind a magical barrier erected by demons, which prevented them from seeing the outside world. People within the barrier want to explore lands that were previously out of reach now that the barrier has been broken.
Lina receives a message from Filia Ul Copt, a mysterious woman. Filia tells the group that she wants to hire them for a mission that will take them to another dimension. Filia also wants to put their strength to the test, so she forces them to battle a dragon. By defeating the dragon, the group has successfully demonstrated their strength. They’re all set to finish the task that the mysterious woman, Filia, assigned to them. Will they be able to finish the mission in a realm they’ve never been to before?
4. The Slayers Revolution
Gourry had lost his Sword of Light in the previous battle. They set out on a quest to find Gourry a sword. They run into Princess Amelia and Zelgadis again while traveling through the kingdom of Luvinagard. Unfortunately, Lina is apprehended by Wiser Flayon, an inspector who accuses Lina of crimes she has never committed. Lina must now prove her innocence by locating the real criminal who committed all of the crimes against her. She has her group with her, and they will undoubtedly assist her.
5. Slayers Evolution-R
Our crazy group is back again with yet another adventure! This time, they’re helping out Pakota, a strange animal, in order to free his country that was sealed by the evil priest, Rezo. For that, they will need the Hellmaster’s jar that they must search for. Meanwhile, Zuuma is after Lina’s life and Xellos has other plans for the group. Will our group be able to avoid any mishaps while looking for Hellmaster’s jar that would free Pakota’s country?
Conclusion
