Combining the elements of Youkai battle with a good dose of a slice of life or romance, Noragami is the series that every anime fan loved watching. It’s intense but fun at the same time. The balance of light and dark moments in Noragami is no joke. It pulled it off so perfectly that it kept us hooked to it till the end. Just like every anime, Noragami also has a proper watch order. There are a few OVAs that do follow the original story. Today, we’ll let you know about the right way to watch Noragami.So, let’s get started

1. Noragami
Noragami introduces us to Yato, who is a deity. He also introduces himself as a “Delivery God”. Now, Yato’s dream is to have a million followers and worshippers. However, he doesn’t even have a shrine and people don’t even know about him. Yato’s days pass by as he does all kinds of odd jobs for five yen. He’s left by his weapon partner when she gets fed up with him.
One day, Yato comes across a girl named Hyori Iki who saves Yato from getting hit by a car, taking a hit herself instead. She survives surprisingly but now, her soul is able to leave her body as it has gotten “loose”. Hyori panics and tells Yato to turn her soul back to normal. However, Yato reveals to her that he must find a new partner in order to do so. And that’s how Hyori gets involved with Yato and decides to help find a partner.
2. Noragami Aragoto
This season of Noragami starts right where the previous one ended. Yukine’s relationship with Yato has finally gotten better. Yato is still taking all kinds of odd jobs for five yen. He still needs to fix Hyori’s soul. He still wants to have a million worshippers.
Things seem to be back to normal until Bishamon appears. Bishamon has a history with Yato and is back to fight Yato. However, Bishamon’s Regalia, Kazuma, can’t fight Yato because he’s indebted to him. Will Bishamon be able to let go of her grudge against Yato?
3. Noragami OVA (God’s Possession, God’s Curse)
This OVA is the first OVA episode of Noragami and it came out in February 2014. It opens with Hyori starting her first year of high school. Yato decides to possess Hyori, making her solve the math problems on the blackboard easily.
Because of repeatedly stating that she’s a god, Hyori’s friends get worried about her. Yato sure is having fun in the situation. He uses Hyori’s charm to get the attention of the boys. He also makes statues of himself in every class. Hyori is trying to get her body back but she can’t really catch him. Kofuku also joins Yato.
Yukine is observing the situation and rants to Mayu that Yato is being irresponsible. He decides to get Tenjin to stop Yato in school. Yato and Kofuku continue their fun. Yato decides to play soccer and defeats the other team instantly. Hyori is watching everything and desperately wants to get her body back.
Yato is in the girls locker room, changing clothes in Hyori’s body. There is a guy who is filming what’s going inside the room. After he’s done filming, he’s confronted by Yukie, Hyori and Kofuku. He’s conscious about his reputation and jumps right out of the window. However, Yato catches him, leaving everyone impressed. But he ends up dislocating Hyori’s shoulder in the process. Yato is punished by everyone because of what he did. But later, he is forgiven by Hyori. The next day, Hyori gets a lot of attention from everyone because of the events that happened a day earlier.
4. Noragami OVA (A Promise in Spring)
This OVA is the second OVA episode and it came out in July, 2014. We see Yato, Hyori and Yukine going on a picnic. Hyori invites Bishamon, Kofuku, Tenjin and Daikoku as well. While Bishamon and Yato are no longer enemies, they still don’t get along well. Hyori and Kazuma go to grab some more beer and when they come back, they see Yato and Bishamon fighting, both drunk. Bishamon loses and starts blabbering about how she couldn’t save herself and Yato had to save her twice.
Later, the group went to chill at Kofuku’s house. A magazine appears out of nowhere and before Yukine can read it, Yato rips it. Yukine wanted to read the magazine because it included ads about Regalia in it.
There are also some questionnaires inside the magazines for the Regalia in order to review their gods. The gods receive the reviews from their Regalia. Bishmaon got a few complaints but Kazuma told her that she’s still great. On the other hand, Yato is punished by having his emblem changed into the shape of poop. But still, he’s glad to know that Yukine is going nowhere and will stay with Yato, doing odd jobs.
5. Noragami Aragoto OVA (The Yatomi Serial Murder Incident Noragami Suspense Theatre)
This OVA is the third OVA episode and it came out in November 2015. We see Hyori going on a ski trip with her family and coming across Yato and Yukine there. They see Tenjin there as well. Hyori sends her parents away, telling them that she’ll come later with her friends. The group goes to a hot spring and there they find Bishamon with her group. There’s a clash between Yato and Bishmon, like always.
A strange man observes all the fun they’re having and decides to kill Yato. He attacks Yato with a stick when everyone’s sleeping and ties him against the wall. He also draws a bloody eye on the wall, trying to be all dramatic. The next morning, everyone’s making fun of Yato and the man wonders why he hasn’t died. The man attempts to kill Yato again and again but fails everytime.
The man then decides to kidnap Yato and tries to throw him off a cliff. He fails again. He then reveals to Yato that he was a novelist and couldn’t be successful. He wanted to murder someone and write a novel in the prison. The man then told Yato that he’ll write a novel about him not knowing that he’ll be sent to a mental hospital later by his editor.
7. Noragami Aragoto OVA (A Picture Together)
This OVA is the fourth OVA episode and it came out in March 2016. We see Ebisu looking at the old photographs of his predecessors. He intently looks at the photographs, especially at the Capyper land. Yato offers Hyori that he has some extra money and he can take her somewhere nice. Hyori is very excited at first but when she finds out that Yato had taken her to Capyper Land, she gets disappointed. She remembers what happened in Capyper Land last time. Her chain of thought is broken when Yato asks her if she’s alright. Apparently, Yato thinks that Capypers are real. Hyori keeps playing along with that idea.
The group then comes across Ebisu who’s reading the note his predecessors had written long ago. They ask Ebisu what he’s doing there and Ebisu starts running off and tripping. Just then a Capyper comes to them, wanting to take a photograph with Ebisu and Yukine. Yato is asked to take a picture and he starts becoming eccentric about the Capypers.
Bishamon and Kazuma also go to the Capyper land and see Ebisu with Yato. Bishamon is curious about the place and Kazuma shows her around.
Yato and Yukine buy Capyper merch and are having fun. Hyori is not interested in the electrical parade but is dragged by Yato.
When Yato notices that Hyori is not having fun watching the electrical parade, he apologizes to her and tells her that she should go home. Hyori tells him that she would stay with him till the fireworks and she really wanted to come here.
At the end of the day, Yato is drunk and sees a little Capyper talking to him, telling him that Capypers were ghosts inside the costumes and will be his friends. Yato is delighted and passes out. It is then revealed that it was Hyori that had a Capyper toy, acting like a real Capyper.
Are You Going To Watch Noragami?
