SERIES RELEASE ORDER
Nana Season 1 (47 Episodes)
Well! Nana has just one season. It aired from 2005 to 2006. It was adapted by the famous Madhouse Studio. It has just 47 episodes, lol! Most romance anime these days are pretty short.
This anime follows the story of two girls named Nana. No! They are not related by blood. They just met coincidentally and became best friends.
We will now talk about the main characters of this anime.
The first Nana, Nana Komatsu is your typical teenager who easily falls in love and just wants an easy life. This trait is pretty toxic in my opinion, it can get you into a lot of trouble. Nana Komatsu is a passionate girl. She tries to give everything to anything she does. She also cares a lot about her friends. This thing earned her the nickname “Hachi”. Her personality might get a bit childish at times.
About her appearance, Nana Komatsu has short brown hair. And she keeps bangs. She would later marry Takumi Ichinose, the Bassist of Trapnest Band.
On the other hand, the second Nana, Nana Osaki is a village girl. She also has a huge dream. She wants to become a professional singer. A pretty big dream, right? In order to achieve this dream, Nana decided to travel to Tokyo. There, she worked as a singer in a small band. Later on, she would become the lead singer of a well-known band named Black Stones.
Nana Osaki was raised by her grandmother. Her mother abandoned her at a very young age. Nana is pretty conscious about her appearance. Well! She wants to become a singer, duh! She takes care of her nails and everything. She has short black hair. Nana Osaki is engaged to Ren Honjo.
She is often portrayed as a strong character. However, she is pretty kind and cares a lot about her friends.
The main question here is, how did both of these girls meet? Well! Both of them met on a train. Nana Komatsu was travelling as she was chasing her boyfriend and Nana Osaki was travelling to chase her dream. This fateful encounter changed their life forever.

Nana’s first live-action movie was released in 2005. The same year the anime aired. This movie was directed by Kentaro Otani. It was based on the original manga, Nana, by Ai Yazawa.
The story of the movie is quite similar to the anime. If you are looking for a short version of the anime and don’t want to watch 47 episodes, then you should watch this movie. This movie covers most of the main events of the manga. However, if you really want to enjoy the adaptation, then you should first watch the anime.
So now, let’s talk about the cast of the movie.
Mika Nakashima played the role of Nana Osaki and Aoi Miyazaki played the role of Nana Komatsu. Both of these actresses are quite pretty.
Nana 2 (2006)
The second live-action movie of Nana was released in 2006. This movie was also based on the manga by Ai Yazawa.
The plot of this movie revolves around Nana Komatsu and her love life. The story continues as romantic tensions develop between Nana Komatsu, Trapnest’s Bassist Takumi, and Black Stones’ Guitarist Nobu.
On the other hand, Nana Osaki focuses more on her career. The main cast of this movie is a bit different from the first movie.
Yui Ichikawa plays the role of Nana Komatsu while Mika Nakashima plays the role of Nana Osaki.
One interesting fact about this movie is that its shooting was completed in just 1 and a half months. Isn’t it amazing?
