HOW TO WATCH IS IT WRONG TO TRY TO PICK UP GIRLS IN A DUNGEON?
Just to make things clear from the start, Danmachi isn’t the original name of this anime. However, the Japanese full version isn’t a title you would want to pronounce if it could be defined in one word, I would say that it’s a mouthful.

I mean, “Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka” you cannot make it any longer than that. “Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?” in English which is also considered one of the weirdest anime titles in our little universe.
The story takes place in a fantasy game-like universe, an RPG to be exact, however, it’s nothing like the typical ones, like Sword Art Online or Log Horizon, it focuses more on romance and love than action, it’s really closer to the isekai genre than anything else.
Of course, I’m not saying there is no action at all, on the contrary, we have some mind-blowing fight scenes and some out of this word special moves. Adding a cheesy love story to that, and that is how you get Danmachi.
Our MC called Bell also has a different goal than your everyday heroes, he doesn’t want to save the world or anything, nor leave this fantasy setting, nor defeat some overpowered Demon Lord, all he wants is to become a man worthy of accepting the love of his crush, Ais Wallenstein, an extremely beautiful and deadly swordswoman.
Like I said before, this anime is unlike any other and the characters are just as peculiar which makes them memorable. Okay, I’m not gonna lie, the fan-service bonus is what makes it a must-watch for a lot of us. Don’t judge, we are all humans after all.
This series was derived from a light novel written by Fujino Ōmori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda. and till now we have three animated seasons with a grand total of 38 episodes + one side story, three OVAs, one movie, and one special.

Conclusion
To tell you the truth, it won’t really matter to you if you follow the release order or the chronological order, Danmachi isn’t a complex series like Monogatari.
My advice would be to use the chronological order as a reference since the side stories and OVAs are really nice, enjoyable, and funny to watch.
You can forget about the special since it is only a recap of the previous episodes.
