29+ BEST Haikyuu!! Players (UPDATED & RANKED!)

Who doesn’t love sports? Well! Almost all of us have played some kind of sports as kids and teenagers, haven’t we? Football is the most popular sport out there and is loved by fans all around the world. However, despite its popularity, football anime aren’t that popular. Only Captain Tsubasa and Inazuma Eleven were able to make a name for themselves.

The sports anime/manga that actually rules this specific genre is none other than Haikyuu! Haikyuu is the best sports anime out there, in my opinion ofc. And it is about Volleyball, Yess! Volleyball! You read that right. It has everything, like action, suspense, amazing characters, great storytelling, just everything.

It basically follows the story of Hinata Shoyo, a teenage boy, who was inspired by a Volleyball player known as “The Little Giant”. As Hinata himself was pretty short, The Little Giant was the biggest source of motivation for him. He decided to play Volleyball and represent his country. However, as Volleyball is a game for tall people, it was really difficult for Hinata to make his name among all the great players.

Well! This list is about the Top 30 Best Haikyuu!! Players, so let’s just start the list.

30- Ryuunosuke Tanaka

Let’s talk about our favorite Tanaka Senpai. Well! His full name is Ryuunosuke Tanaka. He serves as a wing spiker for Karasuno High School Volleyball Team.Tanaka is a very important member of the team serving as their support center. Tanaka is the kind of guy who raises the spirit of the entire team. It can be seen on several occasions like in the match against Aoba Johsai. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 51)

His spiking abilities are also great. He has an amazing straight spike, literally one of the best. He is the one who supported Hinata and Kageyama during their early days, especially Hinata.

Tanaka, sure, is a good player. But, when compared to other players like Kageyama and Hinata, his worth falls. That’s why he’s placed last on this list. You can clearly see it in the game against Date Tech (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapters 42-47)

29- Hajime Iwaizumi

How about we talk about Aoba Johsai’s Ace Hajime Iwazumi? Iwaizumi has a powerful spike along with great strength and accuracy. Imagine coupling this strength with Oikawa’s tosses! Ouffff!

Iwaizumi is also Oikawa’s childhood friend so he trusts him a lot and is seen tossing to him whenever the team is in trouble. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 49)

Besides his amazing spike, Iwaizumi has great defensive skills as well. At first, he thought that only spiking was cool and fun. However, as he got older, he realized that receiving has its own charm. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 144)

Currently, Iwaizumi works with the Japanese National Volleyball Team as an athletic trainer.

Hajime Iwaizumi, despite being the Ace of Aoba Johsai (one of the strongest teams in the entire series) is placed second last because of his lack of strength and motivation. His main motivation is Oikawa Toru, who is his childhood friend.

28- Michinari Akagi

Michinari Akagi is a member of the Inarizaki High School Volleyball team and serves as their Libero. Aren’t liberos just great? I mean, most of them are short, still they were able to find a way to endorse their passion.

Well! As we all know, Inarizaki High School has some really insane players including the Miya Twins, and Aran Ojiro. This makes it really difficult to make a name for yourself, right? However, Akagi made great use of his sharp instincts and his extraordinary ability to coordinate with his teammates.

During the match with Karasuno, Akagi can be seen receiving Kageyama and Asahi jump serves like they were nothing. This is a proof of his abilities.

You might be wondering, why Liberos are placed so low on the list? Well! Here’s the reason. In my opinion, Liberos can be easily replaced. I, myself, am a Libero, so I know this. Liberos are important, but they are usually replaced whenever a team is in need of more points.

27- Kenma Kozume

Ahhh! A fan-favorite character. I don’t know why, but fans really love Kenma. I also like him though!

Kenma is a member of the Nekoma High School Volleyball Team and serves as their setter. He is also the man behind all their attacks, basically their Mastermind. Kenma’s abilities as a setter are not that great, however, his intelligence is what makes him great. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 192)

He closely analyzes his opponents and is able to find their weakness in a really short time. He is also an expert in exploiting those weaknesses. Ehhh! He’s scary, lol.

Fun Fact. Kenma is not good at socializing and doesn’t even want to socialize.

Kenma is placed over Michinari Akagi due to his intelligence and unrivaled game sense. Kenma, being the mastermind of his team, deserves this spot.

26- Tatsuki Washiou

Tatsuki Washiou was a member of the Fukurodani Academy Volleyball Team as their starting middle blocker. As we all know Middle Blockers are really important and the most important thing about them is their height. So, like other middle blocker, Tatsuki is really tall and strong. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 193)

Later on in the series, Tatsuki becomes a professional Volleyball Player representing EJP Raijin, a Professional Division 1 Volleyball Team.

A good middle blocker sure comes in handy, and Tatsuki Washiou is one of those middle blockers who will make your team better in terms of defense. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 193)

Tatsuki’s lack of game sense is the main reason that he’s placed this low on the list.

25- Asahi Azumane

Asahi Azumane

Asahi Azumane is the Ace of the Karasuno High School Volleyball Team. Asahi might look like a delinquent, but he has the heart of a child. At one moment in time, Asahi even left Volleyball as he got disheartened after a loss against Date Tech. In that game, all of his spikes were stopped by the giant middle blocker, Aone. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 63)

Despite all this, Asahi was able to make a comeback after seeing Hinata and Kageyama play. Asahi made huge improvements to his game. His spikes got stronger and he was also able to jump higher. He also learned the Jump Serve and was able to use it effectively in matches. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 283)

Asahi is currently working as an apparel designer in Tokyo.

You guys might be wondering that Asahi is such a good player and is so hard working, so why couldn’t he even make the top 20? Well! I agree that Asahi is a really hard working player, but his skills are mostly average. He has a good spike, but it’s not powerful enough to force its way through blockers. The same is the case with his Jump serve. So, it makes sense I guess. You can see it in the matches against top teams like Inarizaki and Shiratorizawa. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapters 150-189)

24- Nishinoya Yu

Nishinoya Yu

Nishinoya may not be the best Libero out there, but he surely is one of the best. Nishinoya represents the Karasuno High Volleyball Team. He is also known as their Guardian Deity. Without Nishinoya, Karasuno’s defense just crumbles away. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 352)

Other than his amazing defensive skills, Nishinoya is a really cheerful guy. He is the main source of inspiration for the other Karasuno players. His energy on and off the field inspires them to give it their all. Nishinoya is also the type of guy who doesn’t give up and always strives to improve himself. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 51)

One fun fact about Nishinoya is that he is even shorter than Hinata. This basically makes him the shortest Karasuno player. He also has a special move namely the Rolling Thunder. Well! It is just a normal rolling receive.

About Nishinoya’s rank on this list, Nishinoya is an exceptional player but, as I said earlier, Liberos can be replaced. He is better than the players below him in terms of his sheer talent and sharp reflexes. His defensive skills alone are enough to change the tide of the game. He was also able to receive Oikawa Toru’s monster serve. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 50)

23- Keiji Akaashi

Keiji Akaashi

19/40

Keiji Akaashi is the vice-captain of Fukurodani Academy Volleyball Team and also their setter. Akaashi also appears to be the closest friend of Bokuto.

Akaashi’s main ability is to closely analyze the game and provide more opportunities to Bokuto, so that he can score freely. Well,we all know that Bokuto is a pretty moody fellow and managing him is not an easy task. Akaashi is the only person who knows all about Bokuto’s different moods and how to handle them. Pretty Handy, I guess! (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 244)

Other than this, Akaashi is able to do a jump serve as well. As of now, Akaashi works as a manga editor.

Setters really are important, aren’t they? You can’t win a game without a good setter, even if you have the number one Ace. Keiji Akaashi’s position on this list is well deserved in my opinion. His defensive skills are also pretty solid. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 194)

He is a really good setter, but when compared to other setters like Kageyama and Miya Atsumu, he lacks talent and those sharp instincts that other setters have.

22- Kuroo Tetsuro

Kuroo Tetsuro

6/10
20/40

Kuroo Tetsuro is a middle blocker representing the Nekoma High School Volleyball Team. Well! Nekoma High is commonly regarded as the Arch Rival of Karasuno High. Kuroo also captains his team.

In terms of skills, he is an amazing middle blocker. His Read Blocking skills are also pretty amazing. In fact, he was the one who taught Kei Tsukishima read blocking. Kuroo’s main asset is his ability to match his jump timing with that of the spiker’s. This allows him to easily block stronger spikers like Bokuto. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 192)

He is also Nekoma’s only player who is known to be able to do a Jump Serve. (Haikyu!! Manga: Chapter 193). Kuroo Tetsuro is one of the strongest Middle Blockers on this list. His read blocking and jumping timing skills are unmatched. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 192)

What he lacks is the impact his presence has on the pitch. Unlike Aone, who is known as the Iron Wall, Kuroo lacks the instincts and the motivation. That’s why he’s placed just outside the top 20.

21- Takeru Nakashima

Takeru Nakashima

20/40

Takeru Nakashima was a member of the Wakutani Minami Volleyball team. He was also their captain. Takeru used to play at the position of an outside hitter, however, after graduation, he decided to play as a Libero. Why? Because he thought that position suits him more, duh! (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 383)

As every player has a specific skill, Takeru also had some tricks up his sleeve. His main ability was to confuse the blockers by changing the angle of his spike. He was also able to trick them by bouncing the ball off their hands and scoring points. A pretty handy player, I guess! (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 116)

Takeru’s most powerful asset was his ability to confuse the blockers. However, other than this, he has no particular strength. He is pretty average strength wise as well. But, his game sense alone is enough to earn him a spot this high on the list.

20- Tendou Satori

Tendou Satori

5/10
3/10
7/10
21/40

Tendou Satori was a member of the Shiratorizawa Academy. He served as their Middle Blocker. Well! His skills as a middle blocker were really exceptional. His most important asset was his ability to guess where the spiker would spike. This also earned him the title of the “Guess Monster”.

His guesses are mostly based on his intuition and his ability to read the signals of a setter. This technique, however, has one huge disadvantage and that is it doesn’t always work. Well! It makes sense, you can’t always guess right, lol.

Also, If we talk about his personality, his personality isn’t that great. He seems reaaalllllly creepy. Guess monster, huh! I guess Tendou’s guessing ability is what earns him a spot in the top 20. I mean, it’s really a handful. If he guesses even 80 percent of the spikes, his team is sure to win.

His main downfall is his lack of focus and strength.

19- Tsutomu Goshiki

Tsutomu Goshiki

3/10
5/10
6/10
7/10
21/40

Goshiki is one of those players whom you can easily underestimate, but they’ll prove you wrong with their performance. Goshiki is a member of the Shiratorizawa Academy Volleyball Team. His position in the team is as a Wing Spiker. Despite the presence of the Star Spiker, Ushijima Wakatoshi, Goshiki was able to make a name for himself.

Goshiki’s strong point is his high jump and super strong spike. However, his “Super Straight” shot is considered to be his most powerful ability. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 167)Goshiki is currently a member of the Azuma Pharmacy Green Rockets, a professional Volleyball team.

Goshiki might look a bit weak and fragile. But, he has some immense strength. Although not on the level of Ushijima Wakatoshi. As he is a wing spiker, he manages his lack of strength using his extraordinary stamina and agility. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 211)

This earns him a spot in the top 20.

18- Kei Tsukishima

Kei Tsukishima

22/40

How can you not include this guy on this particular list? It’s impossible. Kei Tsukishima is unarguably one of the best players of the Karasuno Volleyball Team. His extraordinary game sense and ability to judge his opponents guarantees him a spot on this list. Kei usually plays as a middle blocker due to his tall stature.

About his attitude? Hehe, we’ll skip that here, lol! The most memorable moment of Kei Tsukishima was his block against Ushijima Wakatoshi. That moment still gives me goosebumps. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 163)

I guess you shouldn’t be surprised to see this guy here. Tsukishima has proved himself countless times. His agility and game sense is on par with any other top player (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 342). His only downfall is his lack of determination. I think this is a major drawback for him. If he tries, he can become even better.

17- Aone

Aone

3/10
22/40

Aone is one of the main players of the Date Tech Volleyball Team. His main position in the team is as a middle blocker, just like Kei Tsukishima. Unlike Tsukishima, Aone is like a giant wall, almost impossible to get across. Spikers fear him.

Aone has a great game sense as well. He is able to predict a spiker’s next move and act accordingly. This makes him even more dangerous. You might be wondering, Isn’t calling a giant wall a bit too much? Well! Asahi Azumane from Karasuno High School left Volleyball after failing to score even a point against him. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 63)

His ability to read movements is known as “Read Blocking”.

Aone is literally known as the “Giant Wall”. And his stats are proof of that. He is a great combination of strength, agility and amazing game sense. His determination and hard work make him a great player. Why is he better than Tsukishima? In my opinion, his determination alone makes him a better player than Tsuki. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 42)

16- Toshiro Heiwajima

Toshiro Heiwajima

4/10
7/10
23/40

Ahh! Finally a Libero in the top 20. Well! Libero is my favorite position and I, myself, am a Libero. Hehehe!

We haven’t seen much of Toshiro Heiwajima as he was introduced pretty late in the manga. His only feature is in the match between MSBY Black Jackals and Schweiden Adlers. Toshiro is a member of Schweiden Adlers and as I mentioned earlier, he plays as a Libero. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 380)

Toshiro has amazing reflexes and pretty sharp senses. His hand eye coordination is just spectacular. Despite just one appearance, he was able to make it to this list. This just proves his extraordinary abilities. He is a well-balanced player. Other Liberos usually lack something like strength, agility, or motivation. However, Heiwajima has it all.

15- Motoya Komori

Motoya Komori
Game Sense Agility Strength Stamina Total

6/10
5/10
7/10
24/40

Another Libero on the list. Ahh! I’m too excited. Motoya Komori is a member of the Itachiyama Institute Volleyball team. Besides being a Libero, Motoya is one of the tallest characters in the entire series. He is 180 cm, oufff!

Motoya was named as the Best High School Libero and was even invited to the All-Japan Youth Training Camp alongside Kageyama. Other than being a skilled Libero, Motoya’s setting abilities are also top-notch. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 231)

At this point, you can say that most Liberos are usually short and it is a big downfall for them. Imagine being a Libero who is tall! This alone makes Motoya better than the rest of the lot.

Other than his height, Motoya has amazing reflexes as well, which allow him to make better use of his height.

14- Rintaro Suna

Rintaro Suna
Game Sense Agility Strength Stamina Total
7/10
7/10
4/10
6/10
24/40

There are quite a few Middle Blockers on this list. Rintaro Suna is another amazing middle blocker representing the Inarizaki High School Volleyball Team. Rintaro is like the quiet kid of the team. He carefully analyzes the game before making any move.

Suna is also a great spiker. His spiking range is just too troublesome. He can rotate his entire torso to increase the range of his spike. Ouffff!! (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 268)

These skills even earned him a spot in the Japanese National team. He is a great asset for his team.

Although Suna is a middle blocker, but, his overall skills are what make him a better player than Aone and Tsukishima. Especially his spiking skills. You won’t see many middle blockers with such insane spiking abilities. (Haikyuu!! Manga:Chapter 250)

13-Yudai Hyakuzawa

Yudai Hyakuzawa
Game Sense Agility Strength Stamina Total
3/10
5/10
9/10
7/10
24/40

Yudai Hyakuzawa is one of the tallest players in the entire series. I think you can guess that he’ll probably be a middle blocker. But, he used to play as a wing spiker. He is a member of the Kakugawa High Volleyball Team.

His biggest asset is probably his height. However, most of his Total went to waste as he was kinda new to Volleyball. As the series progressed, he got better and his game improved a lot. He even became a member of the Japanese National Team.

Like Toshiro Heiwaijima, Yudai has a huge advantage of height. Being pretty tall, Yudai can play as a middle blocker as well as a wing spiker. Alongwith height, Yudai has immense strength as well. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 102)

This alone is enough to earn him a spot just outside the top 10. His only downfall is his game sense and lack of experience. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 103)

12- Morisuke Yaku

Morisuke Yaku
Game Sense Agility Strength Stamina Total
6/10
7/10
4/10
8/10
25/40

Ahhh! Another Libero on the list and that too from the fan-favorite Nekoma High School Volleyball Team. Yess! Morisuke Yaku is the Libero of Nekoma High.

Morisuke has insane receiving skills. He was able to stop Asahi’s spike and was praised by Nishinoya. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 34)

One more amazing quality of Morisuke is that he doesn’t stand out too much. Still, he was able to make a name for himself because of his skills. He also earned a position in the Japanese National Team. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 191, 192)

Morisuke is literally the best Libero out there. He is better than the others in every aspect, agility, reflexes, game sense, and ofc receiving. He is ranked just outside the top 10 as he is not a complete player, like the ones in top 10.

11- Wakatsu Kiryu

Wakatsu Kiryu

Another Wing Spiker on the list. Well! After Blockers, we’re getting some Wing Spikers. Wakatsu Kiryu, being the captain and the ace of the Mujinazak High School Volleyball team, is considered to be one of the best players in the entire country.

As he is the captain, Wakatsu is a great analyzer of the game. However, he sometimes over-analyzes the game and it goes against his team. This is his only downfall, I guess. Other than this, his hand-eye coordination is amazing as he is able to add incredible power to his spikes.

10- Aran Ojiro

Aran Ojiro
Game Sense Agility Strength Stamina Total
4/10
4/10
10/10
8/10
26/40

Aran Ojiro is a member of the Inarizaki High School Volleyball Team. Inarizaki’s Team really has some powerful members, lmaoo! Like Bokuto, Aran is also considered one of the best Aces in the entire country, just outside the top 3.

Aran’s most powerful asset is his amazing Jump Serve. His serve earned Inarizaki valuable points in the match against Karasuno. His defensive skills are also amazing. He is also a member of the Japan National Team. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 252, 253)

Aran Ojiro, being one of the top 5 Aces, deserves a spot in the top 10. His main ability that distinguishes him from others is his diversity. Other than spiking, his jump serve is his main point. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 259)

His only downfall is that his spike isn’t powerful enough. You can see in the match against Karasuno that his spikes were constantly received. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 255)

09- Korai Hoshumi

Korai Hoshumi
Game Sense Agility Strength Stamina Total
7/10
7/10
7/10
6/10
27/40

Korai Hoshumi is one of those few players who are able to play at any position. Like our MC Hinata, Hoshumi is also pretty short and it seems like he has made up to it pretty well. He is a member of the Komomedai High Volleyball team. He was also their ace.

Hoshumi might be a bit short, but his strength is still amazing. His spikes are seriously powerful (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 343). His defensive and offensive skills are equally amazing. His skills also earned him a spot in the Japan National Volleyball team.

At this point, you’ll only see all round players on this list. Players who can do everything and Hoshumi is definitely one of them. All round players are just better than others in every way. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 245)

Their only drawback is that they are not specialists in anything. Hoshumi is good at everything, but he is not the best.

08- Bokuto Kotaro

Bokuto Kotaro
Game Sense Agility Strength Stamina Total
4/10
8/10
9/10
7/10
28/40

Another Wing Spiker on the list. Bokuto Kotaro is the ace of the Fukurodani High School Volleyball Team. Alongside Aran Ojiro, Bokuto is considered to be in the top 5 aces of the country. Bokuto is also a fan-favorite character. His catchphrase is “ Hey Hey Hey!”

Like Hoshumi, Bokuto is a complete player. His serve and defense are both top-notch. His most powerful asset is his cross spike (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 192). I think these things guarantee his spot in the top 10. He is just outside the top 5 due to his seriousness. His play depends on his mood. This is a huge drawback.

However, his play depends upon his mood. Like literally, if he is in a bad mood, he’ll mess up the game. But, it’s really to make him happy, lol! (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 243). Bokuto is also a member of the Japan Volleyball Team.

07- Shoyo Hinata

Shoyo Hinata

29/40

Finally! We have our MC, Hinata Shoyo, on the list. Well! He definitely isn’t the best player in the entire series. Still! He is one of the best. Hinata used to represent the Karasuno High School Volleyball Team. Hinata’s main asset is his insane jumping ability and extremely sharp reflexes. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 380)

Hinata is also known as the Ultimate Decoy. Well! He struggled a lot due to his height. But, over the course of the story, he developed his skills to such an extent that he was able to represent the Japanese Volleyball Team. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 384)

Being a decoy isn’t easy. You need to have some extreme game sense and insane reflexes. Hinata is known as the “Ultimate Decoy”. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 23 and 362)

This instantly earns him a spot in the top 5. One thing that troubles him is his short height. However, he has definitely overcome that issue.

06- Atsumu Miya

Atsumu Miya

30/40

The Inarizaki High School Volleyball Team really has some amazing players. Like seriously, they have players like the Miya Twins, Oran, and Rintaro Suna. No wonder they were the second seeded team.

Atsumu Miya is one of the main players of the Inarizaki High Volleyball Team. He plays as a setter and his setting skills are just too mesmerizing. He is considered to be the best setter in the entire country, even above Kageyama Tobio and Oikawa Toru. Besides his setting skills, Atsumu’s serve is also amazing, literally unplayable. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 249)

His incredible skills earned him a place in the Japanese Volleyball Team for the 2021 Olympics.

05- Kiyoomi Sakusa

Kiyoomi Sakusa

31/40

Another Wing Spiker on the list. Kiyoomi Sakusa was a member of the Itachiyama Institute Volleyball Team. He was also their ace, ofc. Despite being only in second year, Sakusa is a member of the Top 3 Spikers in the entire country.

Sakusa’s game sense is really incredible and he excels in both, defense and offense. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 394). His most powerful asset is his flexible wrist, which allows him to add spin to his spikes and serves. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 382)

His jumping capability is also superb. He also represented the Japanese Volleyball Team in the 2021 Olympics.

04- Kageyama Tobio

Kageyama Tobio

32/40

Certainly one of the best players in the entire series. Kageyama can be considered a complete player. His defense and offense are equally great. Not to mention, his serve is also amazing.  He represented the Karasuno High School Volleyball team alongside our MC Hinata Shoyo. He served as their setter.

As we all know, setter is the most important position in Volleyball, so it makes sense that the most talented players are supposed to become one. Well! Kageyama was considered to be a prodigy with his innate talent and skills. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 286)

Kageyama has this insane ability to draw out a Spikers full potential. He is nicknamed “The King of The Court” (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 389). Kageyama’s insane serve just adds to his skills (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 350). He represented the Japanese Volleyball Team at an early age of 19 and even participated in the Rio Olympics 2016.

03- Wakatoshi Ushijima

Wakatoshi Ushijima
Game Sense Agility Strength Stamina Total
9/10
8/10
10/10
6/10
33/40

I think I don’t have to say anything about this guy. He’s literally a Totalhouse. Wakatoshi Ushijima represented the Shiratorizawa Academy Volleyball Team. He was considered to be the best Ace in the entire Miyagi Prefecture

Wakatoshi’s most important asset is his great build and immensely powerful spike. He has another benefit. I’m sure you’re wondering what is that benefit besides his strong build? Well! Ushijima is left-handed, so his spikes are also from his left side. This just completely puzzles the opposition. Ushijima has the capability to completely turn the tide of the game in his favour, entirely by himself. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 151)

Ushijima’s game sense is also incredible. While receiving, he thinks about his next move, like how will he attack the opposition? (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 381). Ushijima also represented Japan in the 2021 Olympics.

How can we not talk about this guy in this list? Nicolas Romero represented the Brazilian Volleyball Team and currently represents the Schweiden Adlers. He is recognized as a world class player and is respected all over the world.

Like other players in the top 10, Nicolas is a complete player. He has no flaws, literally. His jump serve is just out of this world and his spikes are damn strong. Even his defense is just as amazing as his offense. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 383)

Well! You might be wondering, why isn’t he in the first place? Well! If you compare the stats of Nicolas and Oikawa, Oikawa is just a few inches ahead of him.

01- Oikawa Toru

Finally, the best player in the entire series is revealed. Some people might be surprised I guess. But, in my opinion, it makes sense. Oikawa is not a prodigy or a genius like Kageyama Tobio or Miya Atsumu, but his game sense and insane athletic abilities make him even better than them.

Oikawa served as the Captain of Aoba Johsai Volleyball Team. He was also their Setter. Besides his insane setting abilities, his serve is considered to be the best in the entire country. His serve is also known as “The Monster Serve”. (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 50)

Oikawa’s most powerful asset is his ability to find a weakness in his opponents and continuously target it.  (Haikyuu!! Manga: Chapter 50, 51)

Like Kageyama, Oikawa is a complete player. His offensive and defensive skills are equally great. Manga CHapter 365 Best summarizes Oikawa and his hard work. He represents the Argentinian National Volleyball Team after getting their Citizenship. Another fun fact about Oikawa is that he is the senior of Kageyama Tobio from his Junior High.

Comment Down Below

The second place on our list of the best sports anime goes to none other than Haikyuu. This anime is perfect in every way and has a remarkable plot with realistic characters. It also portrays the complex relationship between the characters flawlessly. This anime shows teamwork that no anime has ever been able to show before. You will feel attached to the players at an emotional level and they'll make you fall in love with them. It also features brilliant volleyball action that will keep you hooked to it throughout. Overall, Haikyuu is an all-rounder and the best Volleyball anime out there. Haikyuu is a story about a boy named Hinata Shouyo who despite his short height wants to be the best. He aspires to become the little giant of his team and works very hard for it. During middle school, he is crushed by the King of the Court, Tobio Kageyama. His self-esteem gets crushed and he vows to join a school with a volleyball team and decides to settle scores with Kageyama once and for all. A lot of things happen and Kageyama and Hinata end up on the same team. Along with their other team members, Hinata and Kageyama show amazing teamwork and make their way to the top.

To be honest, Haikyuu!! Is one of my favorite anime and manga out there. It has a lot of wonderful characters and I’ve tried my level best to do them justice. I really hope you like this list.

There aren’t as many manga references as you can see. I have avoided potential spoilers. Let us know in the comments which you think is the strongest out of them!
