Who’s up for another Blue Lock blog? Because I am and I hope you are, too! And this time we’re gonna have another strongest blog in Blue Lock but this time, they’re divided according to their position. Which means in this one, we’re gonna see a more accurate list of how strong or skillful these characters are! Blue Lock indeed is one of the best sports anime that’s keeping us hyped!
Table of Contents
BEST PLAYERS IN BLUE LOCK BY POSITION
Strongest Strikers

As the saying goes, goals win games. This is especially true in soccer or football, where strikers are the players who are tasked with scoring the goals. While all players on a soccer team are important, strikers are often seen as the most important because they are the ones who can make the difference between winning and losing. With that in mind, here are the best strikers in Blue Lock!
8. Kenyu Yukimiya

We begin this with the strikers list and one of our contenders for that is Kenyu Yukimiya of Bastard Munchen, a professional football team in the German league! Just like most characters in the series, Kenyu is also a Blue Lock Project participant and was a member of Team C.
Aside from being an amazing striker in the field, he has a big downside and that would be his poor vision. This is obviously the reason he wears glasses but even so, he still pushes himself to his limits into becoming the best striker there ever is.
7. Chigiri Hyoma

Our next strongest striker is the red-haired Chigiri Hyoma of Manshine City! In his early days in the Blue Lock Project, Hyoma was a member of Team Z along with the main characters such as Isagi, Bachira, and Kunigami. Among Team Z, he was deemed as their quickest runner and is almost unrivaled compared to his fellow teammates! Aside from being one of the best striker in Blue Lock, he is also one of the best husbandos in the series!
Other than that, there was a time when he suffered a major ACL injury during his days in middle school. This led him to restraining his strength in playing the sport but never intended to quit. This goes to show Hyoma’s immense passion in playing football and using this as a tool to overcome his traumatic past injury (Blue Lock, Episode 7).
6. Rensuke Kunigami

Rensuke Kunigami is a tall dude with orange hair who is also a member of Bastard Munchen alongside his friend, Isagi Yoichi! Kunigami is the type of guy who always gets energized especially when soccer is involved. This is because of his dream of becoming a football superhero and becoming an inspiration to anyone who loves the sport (Blue Lock, Episode 4)!
During the events of the Neo Egoist League, Kunigami became a Wild Card participant who eventually became one of the contenders of the Blue Lock Project.
5. Meguru Bachira

Next up is Meguru Bachira, one of the members of Team Z and is now one of the players of FC Barcha! Bachira is a player who always follows his instincts or more accurately, the “monster”, who speaks inside of him! Everytime Bachira’s “monster” is shown, that is where his true potential is displayed in the field making him almost an unstoppable player (Blue Lock, Episode 9)!
For Bachira, participating in the Blue Lock Project is probably the best thing that’s ever happened to him because he always has this yearning of beating other players who are far better and stronger than him. This selfish desire of Bachira’s is what led him to becoming one of the best players in the big leagues. The monster inside Bachira keeps on telling him to be the best too!
4. Ryusei Shido

Another one of the Blue Lock Project’s contenders is Ryusei Shido. You can easily tell that he is one of the best players in the series by being a part of Team A in the project. He’s also deemed as the ideal candidate of what Jinpachi Ego wants a striker to become.
This means that Ryusei Shido is definitely one of the most egotistical players out there and will definitely do everything it takes to become the best player in Japan. Because for Shido, football is a sport where he becomes complete and that is why he really is a true expert in the field.
3. Barou Shouei

For our 3rd best striker in this list, that would be Barou Shouei who now plays for the Ubers, an Italian football team and was Team X’s most valued member during the events of the First Selection Arc. What makes Barou deserving to be one of the best strikers is because of his explosive moves and expertise in scoring goals.
Moreover, Barou even earned the title of “King” among football players because it’s almost like he’s the one in control of the field whenever he’s playing. He can also be a jack of all trades because he can easily fill any type of position and the striker position happens to be his forte where he shines the most. So, could he be considered one of the best kings in anime? (even without a crown! ‘coz he doesn’t need one!)
2. Isagi Yoichi

Coming up 2nd is the main character, Isagi Yoichi! This already goes without saying because in almost every anime, the main character will always end up at the top, especially in the sports genre. In this case, Isagi Yoichi is a player who also thrives to become the best striker in the world and the Blue Lock Project gave him that opportunity (Blue Lock, Episode 1).
During his early days in the Project, he started at the bottom tier with him ranked at 299. Fast forward to the Neo Egoist League, he’s now one of the top guys playing for Bastard Munchen as a contender for the Blue Lock Project!
1. Itoshi Rin

Now for our top striker in the series… well that would be the eccentric, Itoshi Rin! Even though Rin is more of a silent type, he’s a real beast in the world of football with an unrivaled skill at that! During the Third Selections, Jinpachi Ego even declared that Itoshi Rin is the best striker among them and just like Ryusei Shido, Rin is also the ideal egoist player that Ego dreams of!
One of the factors that makes Rin an excellent player is not just because of his expertise but also his genes due to the fact that he’s the younger brother of Itoshi Sae, the best player in Japan! With that in mind, Rin was inspired to become a great player just like brother. And we could consider him as the best rival of Yoichi Isagi!
Strongest Midfielders

A good midfielder is the heart of any team as they can make or break a game. They’re the glue that holds the team together and the ones who are always looking for the pass that will put their team-mates in a good position. However, they’re also not afraid to take the shot when the opportunity presents itself. So, let’s take a look to see who these amazing midfielders in Blue Lock are!
5. Haru Hayate

Switching to the midfielders position and the first one we have here is Haru Hayate, one of the players of Japan’s national team, Japan U-20! During his time in the team, he was a defensive midfielder who didn’t focus much on doing the strikes but rather keeping the ball from going to the enemy. After their match against the Blue Lock Eleven, Hayate transferred to FC Barcha, a Spanish football team (Blue Lock, Chapter 155).
4. Tabito Karasu

Tabito Karasu is another participant of the Blue Lock Project and was a member of Team B. After the Third Selections, Karasu was picked to be one of the players of Blue Lock Eleven and will face off against the opposing team, Japan U-20.
As for his position there, Karasu was appointed to be a defensive midfielder making his role similar to Haru Hayate. During the Neo Egoist League, Karasu is now one of the players of the French football team, Paris X Gen. Tabito also said quite powerful quotes in the Blue Lock series that we would surely remember.
3. Reo Mikage

Reo Mikage was one of Team V’s best players in the Blue Lock Project along with Nagi Seishirou. Reo has a strong sense of charisma and is a very outgoing, cheerful person. He had many friends, was a fairly popular student, and attracted a lot of admirers during his time in high school. Despite his popularity and status in life, he seems to be one of the most selfless anime characters we have encountered. He also excelled academically and took part in a variety of sports.
During the course of the series, Mikage took part in different football roles such as being a forward, center back, and a center midfielder making him an amazing all-rounder and a great teammate. After their match against the Japan U-20, Mikage now plays for Manshine City (Blue Lock, Chapter 172).
2. Nagi Seishirou

The next midfielder we have is the introverted Nagi Seishirou! He’s a guy with pure talent when it comes to football despite having no experience playing it when he was recruited by Mikage in their highschool football team.
Along with Mikage, he also participated in the Blue Lock Project and ended up in the same team as him which is Team V. After that, he reached new heights such as playing for Blue Lock Eleven and now as one of Manshine City’s best players (Blue Lock, Chapter 172)!
1. Itoshi Sae

The best midfielder we have here is none other than Itoshi Sae, the older brother of Itoshi Rin! He is considered as a prodigy due to his expertise in playing the sport making him a top professional football player in Japan! He even managed to go overseas and joined a foreign professional league in Spain! That’s how amazing this guy is!
After he learned about the Blue Lock Project, he decided to stay in Japan and joined the Japan U-20 so that he could have a match against the Blue Lock Eleven. Now that Sae has achieved his dream of becoming a professional player, he now thrives to become the best midfielder among football players. If you’re a fan of Sae who wants to celebrate his birthday, then here’s what we got on Blue Lock Characters Birthdays!
Strongest Defenders

The defenders are the backbone of the team since they’re the ones who prevent the opposing team from scoring and clears a path for the strikers and midfielders. Without them, the team would be lost as they can also act as the main core of the group.
6. Teppei Neru

Now for our best defenders, we start off with Teppei Neru. Not much is known about him but he was a player of Japan U-20 and participated in their match against the Blue Lock Eleven. His role in the field is a side back defender and doesn’t really go for the offensive role (Blue Lock, Chapter 110).
Neru is regarded as a speed-type defender who outran opponents and can steal the ball from them with his incredible speed. This speedster character, with his quick reaction, he can easily tell where the attacker will go and can instantly change his direction to catch up.
5. Kazuma Niou

Kazuma Nio is another player of Japan U-20 and has the role of center back. With his large physique, Kazuma is really the guy most fit for the role since he can easily become dominant over offensive players. Other than that, he even has immense stamina, and strength which allows him to do effective tackles to opposing players.
Nio can also charge his opponent by using his shoulders blocking them from moving forward, and use his entire core strength to his advantage.
4. Jyubei Aryu

In the Blue Lock Project, Jyubei Aryu was one of the best players during the 2nd selection with him having the 2nd rank. Because of his skills and jumping power, he was chosen to be one of the players of Blue Lock Eleven and plays as their center back (Blue Lock, Chapter 108).
Because of Ayu’s impressive jumps, once he catches up to fast runners, he can easily overwhelm them and can even block balls in mid-air while jumping. He can also be an offensive player since his long strides help him execute unexpected goals! He is quite an interesting character in the series making us want to look at his and other Blue Lock characters zodiac signs!
3. Miroku Darai

Another strong defender is Miroku Darai from Japan U-20. Other than having the looks of a Buddha, he even acts as one because he perceives the football field as a yin and yang. Currently, he plays for FC Barcha and has the role of a side back defender just like Teppei (Blue Lock, Chapter 110).
When playing football, he relies on his instincts and the smell of his opponents in order to predict what their next direction would be.
2. Niko Ikki

Niko Ikki was introduced during the First Selection Arc in Blue Lock as a member of Team Y and went toe to toe against Isagi Yoichi’s Team Z. After a suffering defeat, Isagi was the reason that Niko became a much stronger player and changed himself to become better than before. Stands out not only or his skills but because of his unique physical features and his thick black hair!
Fortunately, his efforts have grown into fruition and now he became one of the chosen players for Blue Lock Eleven and will face off against Japan U-20. During his time as a Blue Lock Eleven player, Niko has been assigned the centerback position which focuses mostly on a defending role.
1. Oliver Aiku

Oliver Aiku was once the captain of Japan U-20 when they had a match against Blue Lock Eleven. But after that, he transferred to a different league and now plays for the Ubers. Oliver is a dedicated centerback defender and you can say that he’s the best when it comes to that role since he’s not just good at keeping the ball from the opponent but also quick enough to outrun them!
Among the members of U-20, Oliver is considered as the core due to his unrivaled technique and profession in playing football and as a result, the team has earned the title “Diamond Generation”. Oliver Aiku is definitely one of a kind! And sometimes all you could do is be fascinated with these characters, think and take a personality quiz to find out who you might be in Blue Lock!
Strongest GoalKeepers

Goalkeepers are the last line of defense and need to be able to think strategically, have quick reflexes, and should be able to motivate their team. In many ways, goalkeepers are the unsung heroes of the soccer field and in Blue Lock, even the series have some of these great goalkeepers!
3. Okuhito Iemon

Okuhito Iemon was one of the members of Team Z and has the consistent role of being their goalkeeper in all their matches. With the help of his teammates, he was able to pass the First Selections, however, during the Second Selections, he got eliminated midway and is now ineligible to participate in the succeeding challenges.
Even though he got disqualified in the series, Iemon is still considered as a good goalkeeper since he was able to save a lot of goals especially when he was in the Second Selections.
2. Gen Fukaku

Gen Fukaku is a minor character in the series and was the goalkeeper of the Japan U-20 team. Even though he’s a member of a national team, not much is known about his skills in the field rather than being a great goalkeeper.
1. Gagamaru Gin

For the best goalkeeper we have… that would be none other than, Gagamaru Gin! During the First Selections, Gin was a member of Team Z and has overcome the challenges that Blue Lock has to offer. Now, Gin is now the goalkeeper of Bastard Munchen and is a teammate of Isagi Yoichi!
What makes Gin a great goalkeeper is that he has quick reflexes and can spring his body to deflect any types of shots coming for him! And thinking how handsome or cute he is, he is such a nice character to be cosplayed from Blue Lock!
