Today, we’ll be talking about VINLAND SAGA SEASON TWO. Dude, this anime only has 1 season and 24 episodes, but each episode gave us goosebumps that we just can’t forget. I still get chills in my whole body when I think about this anime.

Season 1 of Vinland Saga is a great success, and fans went crazy after season 1. It was even awarded as best anime of 2019. And yeah, finally, after almost 3 years, we will have a new season. Ahh, I’m going crazy just by thinking about it.
Not just the anime, but it’s manga; dude, its art is just crazy, not to mention the manga has sold almost 6 million copies by now. And for seinen manga, it’s quite a lot. Well, everyone wants to see Thorfinn’s new journey so it makes sense.
I’m gonna tell you everything we know so far about the Vinland Saga, its release date, production cast, predicted plot and more. I’m telling you season two will break the internet. I’m pretty sure this will hype every anime watcher.

RELEASE DATE
Well, season 1 of Vinland Saga covers about 54 chapters of the manga. 54 chapters were transformed into 24 episodes. So we can expect that season 2 will cover manga chapters from 55 to 109 or 110. It’ll again get 24 episodes, or it’ll have two halves. One will be of 12 and the other 12 as well.
However, the series will not end in the 2 seasons. That’s because there are a total of 185 Chapters and 25 volumes. It means the Vinland Saga can actually have 3 to 4 seasons. But yeah, we still have to wait for season 2 first.
So, here comes the main question for Vinland Saga created by Makoto Yukimura, when season TWO is coming out? We all want to know, right? We just can’t wait for it. If you are not waiting for this anime, you don’t have good taste. It is what it is.
Anyway, let’s keep everything aside and talk about the release date. Well, I’m sorry to say, but we don’t have the confirmed date for the SEASON TWO. But don’t be sad. We might get the new season in JULY 2022. I mean, this might be the month. So let’s hope for the best.
By the end of MARCH, there’s a chance we can get the official date. However, there are going to be some differences in the production team. I mean in the studio. We’ll discuss that later. But we can hope to get a release date by the END OF MARCH.
One thing is sure, the anime is already in production, and by this year, season 2 will start airing for sure. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. Ohh god why just why they are giving us so much suspense over a release date? Can’t they just announce it already?
Never mind, it’s just my frustration, and I’m pretty sure right now you are like this as well. Don’t lie. Well, what can we do now? You can rewatch season 1, so when season 2 comes out, you’ll be prepared, or you can read the manga, but it might ruin the fun for the anime.
PREDICTED CAST
We got a little information about the Release Date, right? But one more important thing is the cast. Who are the cast for Vinland Saga season two? Look, the cast actually plays the most crucial role. I don’t just mean charters; I mean the Voice Actors, aka Seiyu.
A Seiyu is the one who brings a character to life. Can you imagine a character without a voice? It’ll be like Monsoon without rain or us weebs without anime. Look, it doesn’t matter if the voice actor is not so famous or they don’t have voiced popular characters.
What matters is that they put their 100% into what they do. We should APPRECIATE SEIYUS more. Without them, an anime is incomplete. We all admit it, right? You better say yes.

Yuto Uemura has voiced some of the most popular MCs in his Seiyu career.This includes Atsushi Nakajima from Bungou Stray Dogs, Hiro from Darling in The Franxx, Shinki from Boruto: Naruto Next Generation, Amajiki Tamaki from My Hero Academia and many more.
Kensho Ono
Canute, our PRINCE, is voiced by none other than Kensho Ono. Kensho Ono works as an agent in Animo Produce. He has given voice to some of the popular side characters and main characters.
This includes Tetsuya Kuroko from Kuroko’s Basketball, Mikaela Hyakuya from Seraph of The End, Larcade Dragneel from Fairy Tale, Shikadai Nara from Boruto: Naruto Next Generation and many more. His Seiyu career is quite impressive.
Hiroki Yasumoto
Our beloved Bjorn is voiced by Hiroki Yasumoto. Hiroki Yasumoto is known for voicing side characters. He is 45 years old, and he works as an agent for Sigma Seven. He is not just a voice actor; he is also a narrator.
Look, side characters are essential as well. They work like salt for a dish. It gives the flavour. Hiroki has voiced characters like King from One Punch Man, Azan from Berserk, Elhart from The Rising of The Shield Hero, Yasutora Sado from Bleach and many more.
Atsushi Ono
So many of us might not like Floki for some reason, but it doesn’t matter; his voice actor is quite impressive. Atsushi Ono is the Seiyu who voiced Floki. Atsushi Ono has been a voice actor for more than 18 years, and he has voiced so many side-characters.
Some of them are Giriko Kutzusawa from Bleach, Yozo Hattori from Demon King Daimao; he is voicing Kaoru Gojo from My Dress-Up Darling lately.
Akio Otsuka
To be honest, I like Thorkell. I mean, he is not cruel. He doesn’t want to harm weak ones. He just wants to fight strong opponents. Anyways, Thorkell is voiced by Akio Otsuka. He works as an agent in Mausu Promotion. He will be 63 years old in 2022.
Some of his popular voiced characters are Rider from Fate/Zero, Sango and Jugo Yokomizo from Detective Conan, Uvogin from HunterXHunter, All For One from My Hero Academia, Shunsui Kyouraku from Bleach, and many more.
Yoji Ueda
Lief Ericson is a side character, but he is actually loved by Vinland Saga watchers and readers. He is voiced by Yoji Ueda, a professional Seiyu who works as an agent for Amuleto. He is 51 years old by now.
Some of the characters he voiced are Maned Shinigami from Bleach, Robert E.O. Speedwagon from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Bill from Akame Ga Kill, Drive Knight from One Punch Man, and many others. He has mostly voiced side characters.
ENGLISH CAST
Look, everyone is not the same; some like subbed anime and some like dubbed anime. We should not judge anyone for watching the Dub. Well, we can’t deny that Sub is superior to Dub but never mind. Let’s talk about the English voice actors of Vinland Saga.

To be honest, I’ve heard Thorfinn’s voice in English, and it’s good, actually. In English Dub, Thorfinn is voiced by Mike Haimoto. He has worked for Funimation, Sound Cadence, etc.
In the English Dub, Mike Haimoto has given voice to characters like Takanobu Aone from Haikyuu, Demon Cleric Leonard from Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle, Burando Ayame from Blade of The Immortal and many more.
Josh Grelle
In the English Dub, Canute is voiced by one of the famous dub voice actors. His name is Josh Grelle. Josh Grelle mainly works for Funimation, and he has so many popular characters that he has voiced. You all are familiar with his work, but you didn’t know it yet.
Some of his famous English dubbed characters are Armin Arlert from Attack on Titan, Mao Sadou from Devil is A Part-Timer, Issei Hyodo from Highschool DxD (legend for this one), Yukiteru Amano from The Future Diary, Futaro Uesugi from The Quintessential Quintuplets, and Shido Itsuka from Date Alive.
Dude, he has so much more, and all of them are so popular.
Andrew Love
So let’s talk about Bjorn’s English dubbed voice actor Andrew Love. Andrew Love is an American voice actor who has worked for a couple of studios like Funimation, Sentai Filmworks etc. He usually gave a voice to side characters, but he also has some popular characters.
Some of his popular dubbed characters are Akio Furukawa from Clannad, Daigo Aoki from Food Wars!, Sentaro Kawabuchi from Kids on the Slope, Akainu from One Piece, Manji from Blade of The Immortal and many more. His voice acting career is quite good.
Jay Hickman
Jay Hickman is the dubbed voice actor of Floki. Jay Hickman has worked for Funimation, ADV Films, and Sentai Filmworks. Jay Hickman has been a voice actor for almost 20 years, and that’s a lot of time. However, he did not get so much fame.
His popular English dubbed characters are Kagetane Hiruko from Black Bullet, Crusty from Log Horizon, Kurama from Elfen Lied, Ryuya from Air and many more. Jay Hickman deserves more popularity.
Patrick Seitz
So, our beloved Thorkell is voiced by Patrick Seitz. Patrick Seitz has worked for Funimation, New Generation Pictures, Viz Media etc. Patrick has done over 100 projects that include voice acting in anime, video games, movies etc.
Some of his popular dubbed anime characters are Soichiro Kuzuki from Fate/Stay Night, Franky from One Piece, Sloth from FullMetal Alchemist, Laxus Dreyar from Fairy Tail, Kunikida Doppo from Bungou Stray Dogs and many more.
John Swasey
In the English dub, Lief Ericson is voiced by John Swasey. John Swasey has worked for Sentai Filmworks, ADV Films, and Funimation. He is a scriptwriter and ADR Director as well. Wow, he sure can do a lot of things.
His famous voiced characters are All For One from My Hero Academia, Senzaemon Nakiri from Food Wars, Crocodile from One Piece, Bols from Akame Ga Kill, Van Hohenheim from FullMetal Alchemist, Undertaker from Black Bullet and many more.
NEW CHARACTERS
It’s a new season so it’s obvious we’ll be having new charters as well. So, let’s take a look at our new characters who’ll be there in season 2.

Arnheid
Hmmm, Arnheid’s voice actors have not yet been revealed; she’ll be in season 2 for sure. We might see her in the first episode because, in the manga, she is introduced in chapter 56. She is actually a slave of Ketil. Katil is the person for whom Thorfinn works for as an enslaved person.
Einar
Einar is also another enslaved person who works at Ketil’s farm. He was seen in the last episode of anime and in chapter 55 of manga for the first time. Einar and Thorfinn became very close friends when Thorfinn came to the farm to work for Ketil.
Einar has his own dream: to make a country where peace will be stable. Later in the series, he even becomes one of the most loyal companions of Thorfinn. His voice actors are not revealed, but we’ll be able to see him in the first episode of season 2.
Ketil
Ketil is the owner of a farm. Thorfinn, Arnheid, and Einar work for him as his slaves. Even though Thorfinn and the rest are his slaves, he doesn’t treat them harshly. He seems to treat everyone properly and gently. His voice actors are yet not revealed.
Gudrid
So, it’s a minor spoiler, but Gudrid is the future wife of Thorfinn. Gudrid is the kind of person who wants to live freely and go sailing on adventures. One of the reasons why she stabbed her previous husband.
However, Thorfinn allowed her to join his crew, and eventually, they fell in love and later got married. Gudrid’s voice actor is also not revealed, but we’ll be seeing her in season2 for sure.
PRODUCTION CAST
Look, production is very important or in other terms, Animation plays a critical role. If we don’t have good animation, it doesn’t matter how good the story is; anime watchers will not like it. Well, let’s take Seven Deadly Sins, for example.
Anyways season 1 of Vinland Saga has pretty good animation. Its animation was actually loved by people. Well, it was animated by Wit Studio. It’s the same studio that animated the first 3 seasons of Attack On Titan.
Not just Attack on Titan, but Wit Studios has animated anime like The Ancient Magus’ Bride, Seraph of The End, and Great Pretender; right now, the most popular anime animated by Wit Studio is Ousama Ranking, and they’ll be the co-producers of upcoming anime Spy x Family as well.
However, Season 2 of Vinland saga MIGHT NOT be animated by Wit Studio. According to the rumours, it’s yet to be announced, but there’ll be new animators for the new season. So who’ll be the new animators?
Well, it’s none other than our favourite and most famous animation studio, MAPPA. After hearing this, you might be more hyped. We all know about MAPPA, right? The studio animated the latest season of Attack on Titan, Kakegurui, Jujutsu Kaisen, God of Highschool, Banana Fish, Dororo and many more.
We know they have the best quality of animation. But I kinda feel bad for the animators of MAPPA studio. MAPPA will animate Chainsaw Man, another most hyped anime, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku and Dance Dance Danseur. And now they have the Vinland Saga on their plate.
And there’s a chance that Solo Levelling will be animated by MAPPA as well. It means that the animators won’t see their family for a long time. I hope they’ll be able to survive all this.
According to rumours Takahiko Abiru, the original character designer, will again be in Vinland Saga Season 2. You might not know, but Takahiko Abiru is the animation director of Attack on Titan’s final season.
It seems like Vinland Saga season 2 is going all out. They will make the Vinland Saga the best anime of the year again. Shuuhei Yabuta will be there again, supporting Takahiko Abiru as the storyboard and episode director.
PREDICTED PLOT
Such a fantastic anime with a great storyline. We all agree that the Vinland Saga has one of the best plots, right? Season 1’s ending was quite shocking, but we should know that season 1 was like the trailer and the main thing will start in Season 2.
Let’s take a quick recap of season 1:
Our story is actually set in 1013 AD. The story starts with Thors Snorresson, called Commander of Jomsvikings and the strongest Viking. Thor was loved by his people; everyone admired him, he had a family as well.
However, Thors was killed in a fight with Askeladd and his crew. It was not a fair fight, Askeladd used a cheap trick and even took Thors’ son, Thorfinn, hostage. There was no chance that Askeladd would’ve won in a fair fight
Thorfinn saw everything, and swore that even if it meant death, he’d avenge his father and kill Askeladd. We can say Season 1 was about Thorfinn having character development to avenge his father.
But Season 1 had a shocking ending. Askeladd did die, but he was not killed by Thorfinn; instead, he was killed by Prince Canute. Well, he wanted revenge from Askeladd because Askeladd was the one who killed Canute’s father, King Sweyn.
Askeladd killed King Sweyn to save Wales, his home country. It’s more like he sacrificed himself for the sake of his people and for Canute as well so he could take the throne. When Askeladd died, Thorfinn could not accept it because he couldn’t avenge his father.
Before dying, Askeladd asked Thorfinn what he would do next in his life? That’s because revenge was the only thing Thorfinn knew. Askeladd told Thorfinn to follow in his father’s footsteps. He told Thorfinn to become a true warrior like his father and go far ahead than him.
So, this was the actual ending of season 1. It means in season 2, Thorfinn’s real journey will start. Significant character development and his adventure will begin in season 2. There’s quite a chance that Thorfinn might try to become the next Viking Commander/King.
And Thorfinn had a dream before his father died: it was to go to a place called Vinland, known as paradise on Earth. Who knows, Thorfinn might be the one to go to Vinland. After all, he is THORS’ SON.
Ahh, dude, I’m just so excited to see Thorfinn getting over avenging his father and finding true motive in his life. His life has not started yet. Everything will begin in SEASON 2. But we might get more plot twists, so we should be prepared.

As we can see in the above tweets done by Funimation and My Anime List officially announced season 2 in 2021. So, it’s a possibility that by this year, it’ll start airing. It’s been almost a year since season 2 was announced, and fans have been waiting for it.
The most recent tweet was done by AnimeTV チェーン where they confirmed that season 2 is officially announced. They even released a lot of information related to Season 2 including the animators. They said it’ll be Wit Studio but again Wit has not said anything.
Recently Anime Hype tweeted about Vinland Saga season 2 confirmation. Anime Hype also confirmed that MAPPA will be the animators, but the Core Staff will not change. However, MAPPA has not tweeted or said anything, so it’s a WIN-WIN situation. But we can get any news soon.
