RELEASE DATE

So when will the series be released? There was a lot of speculation around the dates but for a while nothing was confirmed – however – now the good news!
The first announcement regarding the new season was made at the Kadokawa Light Novel Expo in March 2021. Following that, at the Degki Bunko Winter Festival Online 2021 which was held on 12th December 2021, it was announced that the predicted release date for seasons 2 would be July 2022. Earlier news had put the predicted date as 2023 so this news will be welcomed amongst fans.
PREDICTED CAST

It is predicted that the main cast, including the sub voice actors from Season 1, will be returning to their roles for Season 2. So, who are the actors?
JAPANESE CAST
Ryôta Ôsaka as Sadao Maou

A popular voice actor, Ryôta Ôsaka has been confirmed to pick up his role as the voice for Sadao Maou. Married to a fellow voice actor, Manami Numakura he has provided voices for some of the most popular animes over the years including, Marco Bodt in Attack on Titan, Keiji Akaashi in Haikyuu!! and most recently, Naoto Tachibana in Tokyo Revengers.
Yoko Hikasa as Emilia Justina

Another popular voice actor and singer, Yoko Hikasa is the voice for Emilia Justina (Emi Yusa) and is confirmed to be returning for season 2. She has also provided voices for Irene Adler in Moriarty the Patriot, Utahime Iori in Jujutsu Kaisen and Rias Gremory in High School DxD.
Yuki Ono as Alciel

Another voice actor who also has a career as a singer, Yuki Ono provides the voice for Alciel. His other credits include, Josuke Higashikata in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, John H. Watson in Moriarty the Patriot, and Takigi in Fireforce. As with all the Japanese voice actors on this list, his list of credits is impressive.
Nao Tôyama as Chiho Sasaki

Being able to sing seems to come hand in hand with being a voice actor, and Nao Tôyama is no exception to this rule. Providing the voice for Chiho Sasaki, she is also known for the voices behind Katia/Kanata Oshima in So I’m a Spider, So What?, Eiko Kawasegawa in Remake Our Life and Misa in Hiyokoi OVA. Also like many voice actors, Nao provides voices for video games.
Hiro Shimono as Lucifer

As well as providing voices for some of the most popular anime franchises out there, Hiro Shimono is the voice behind Hanza Urushihara (Lucifer) in season 1 and will be returning for Season 2. Hiro is the voice of characters including, Dabi in My Hero Academia, Nacht Faust in Black Clover, Rindou Haitani in Tokyo Revengers, Connie Springer in Attack on Titan and Taketo Aida in Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. He lends his voice to some of the biggest popular anime out there.
Hina Kino as Alas Ramus

A newcomer to Season 2 Hina Kino will take on the role of Alas Ramus, the young girl from the Golden Apple who states she is the child of Sadao and Emilia. As of yet, there is no news as to who will provide the English voice.
ENGLISH DUB CAST
The English Dub appears to be bringing back the same voice actors, for those of you who prefer a dubbed anime.
Josh Grelle as Sadao Maou

Josh Grelle is a popular English voice actor, and he takes the role of Sadao Maou in the first season, and it is believed he will be returning for Season 2. Josh has done the English dub for some of the big anime hits such as Armin Arlert in Attack on Titan, Glenn Radar in Akashi Records of B*****d Magic Instructor and, my guilty pleasure Yuri Katsuki in Yuri!!! on Ice.
Felecia Angelle as Emilia Justina

You will have heard Felecia in other roles, notably Toru Hagakure in My Hero Academia, Perona in One Piece and Kohaku in Dr Stone. She will be returning to voice Emilia Justina in season two of The Devil is a Part Timer.
Anthony Bowling as Alciel

Although his back catalogue of roles is not as large as some of the others on this list, Anthony Bowling is a steady working voice actor providing voices to Vanir in Isekai Quartet and Reinhart Jamil in By the Grace of the Gods. He will be returning to season 2 in the role of Alciel.
Tia Lynn Ballard as Chiho Sasaki

Returning to her role as Chiho Sasaki will be Tia Lynn Ballard, who is an extremely popular English speaking voice actor who has provided some recognisable anime voices, leaving quotes many fans recognise. In particular, she has voiced Happy in Fairy Tail (Aye Sir!), Zero Two in Darling in the Franxx (Darling) and many more.
Aaron Dismuke as Lucifer

Aaron Dismuke is the voice behind Lucifer and will be returning to that role for Season 2. He has provided the voices for popular characters such as Alphonse Elric – Fullmetal Alchemist, Senku Ishigami – Dr Stone and William James Moriarty – Moriarty the Patriot. As well as voice acting, Aaron has worked as a director on the English dubbed versions of Black Clover and Dr Stone.
PREDICTED PLOT

Season 1 left fans with a cliff hanger and so finally, after such a long time, fans are interested to see where the story heads when Season 2 launches.
As season 1 covered the first two volumes of the light novel, it would be reasonable to assume that Season 2 will pick up at the beginning of the third volume. This is further supported by the release of a new character preview for the adorable Alas Ramus, who appears at the very beginning of volume 3.
Alas Ramus, who is born from a Golden Apple, claims to be the daughter of Sadao and Emilia! How and when did that happen????
When I was a child, I was told babies were delivered by storks, but this one was inside a Golden Apple. How will Sadao react to being told he has a daughter with Emilia who has always been his enemy? Will he be able to cope on just a part time wage? Will Ashiya finally have a breakdown trying to cope with everything?
Anything could happen and we will have to wait for the long-awaited release in July 2022 to find out

Comment Down Your Excitement!

The Devil is a Part Timer is a fun, easy to watch anime and many people were disappointed when a second series did not appear soon after the first. Although it has taken 9 years, you know how the saying goes, it is better late than never! The story could be seen as fluffy with no depth but who needs serious stories all the time? If you want more crazy behaviour, slapstick comedy and a blatant rip-off of a popular fast-food chain then buckle up because season 2 is guaranteed to fulfil all those needs!
