Oshi no ko is an intriguing narrative about the idol industry. The plot is a nice blend of mystery, romance, and the competitive world of Japanese entertainment and idols.

Oshi no Ko tells the story of a countryside gynaecologist who was murdered and reincarnated as the child of a famous idol. On a quest to find his killer, Aquamarine (the reincarnated protagonist) finds himself drawn deeper into the entertainment industry, as the killer is strongly linked to it.

We follow the story of Yusuke Saito, an average high schooler that vanished for six months and was found unconscious in a rowboat off the coast.

Due to this mysterious incident, he lost all his memories before that time. Apparently, Yasuke was an absolute monster before – There’s no end to the atrocities he has committed.

Over time, many people began confronting him and referring to him as the monster he is. However, the fact that he can’t recall his past actions and has incomplete pieces of information may imply that he isn’t the demon they’re all accusing him of being.

Although not so many people are aware of this manga, I believe it has a lot of potential, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes manga such as Juujika no Rokunin.

Then he meets his favourite idol, and his life changes drastically.

What a name! Let’s just refer to it as “The Power of Darkness” for easy navigation. Sounds a lot better, don’t you think?

The story revolves around Raul, the hero who defeated the demon king as he set out on a quest to avenge his companion and family after obtaining the power of darkness and being revived from death.

Similar to JNR, they both feature an extreme revenge plot with a twisted character change (from righteous and nice to evil and cold-blooded).

I looked up the English meaning of this title, which translates as “God, you (beep), I wanna kill you!” Like, who gives names to this title?!

From the title, you already get the extremely dark kind of vibes. The story revolves around a high school girl who lost her entire family. Lonely and hopeless, she decided to hurt herself, and just before she did, she changed her mind.

She made a deal with a psychotic killer to help her get revenge for her dead family, so long as she agrees to be killed by him in the end.

This isn’t your typical revenge story! Towards the end, you’ll be left wondering whether you’re reading a revenge story or a story about a group of insane loons. That’s how dark this manga is!

Misumisou is a mixture of romance, bullying, death, and revenge. The story is set in a small village outside of Japan, and essentially the new girl is bullied by psychopathic tweens. And as the story progresses, unexpected events occur, causing the plot to shift dramatically.

One aspect of the story that I like is how it combines a revenge storyline with a touch of romance.

We follow the story of Fujisawa Ayana, a girl who was bullied a lot in school. She realizes that her classmates were eventually going to kill her after being shoved into traffic. And that’s how her revenge story began.

Usually, we would assume her target would only be the bullies. But that isn’t the case here; her revenge plan included the students who bullied her, as well as those who stood by and did nothing to stop it.

We follow Hiroki Dan, a detective and the son of a former police superintendent general. He hides his true identity as a serial murderer who has killed over a hundred individuals he feels are beyond the reach of the law.

Both manga have a “revenge beat” to them. Although the protagonist in Brutal: Confessions of a H*****e Investigator is more of a vigilante, the other is seeking revenge on cruel people from his past.

Games are all fun because we always have the option of replaying a failed task or quest. If we were the character in the game, and dying in the game meant death in real life, I’m confident no one would choose to put their life on the line for the sake of entertainment. That is to say, no gaming for everyone!

Alice in Borderland tells the story of three friends trapped in a mysterious borderland where every game puts their lives in jeopardy, and a slipup can cause their doom. Would they be able to clear the game and return to the real world in one piece? Find out for yourself.
