So first things first, BL stands for Boys Love, if you didn’t already know that. Boys Love is a fairly recent anime niche especially in the ever growing Korean anime industry. Korean animations have experienced a rapid growth in recent years due to the high quality of source materials and the current exposure of the public to webtoons. We also have gay manhwa collection for you guys! 

There are a lot of bold stories in the Boys Love manhwa category, and this is evident when you look at Manhwa like Killing Stalking. Sadly it isn’t the same on the anime scene as Boys Love stories are hard to find in Korean anime. A lot of our favourite BL or Yaoi manhwa have not yet been animated, leading to a limited number of such Korean anime however we have been able to compile these gems for your viewing pleasure.

6. Someone Else’s BL Cartoon

This fantastic anime is based on the manhwa authored and illustrated by Bobari. The slice of life in a school setting is well done, spiced with dramatic romance involving some level of bullying that is expected in an anime such as this.

Seunghee is a high school boy who loves to cross-dress, he reads Yaoi comics and you guessed right, he is gay! His life is about to change drastically when the class president finds out about his secrets after spying on him. How does Seunghee fare with his secret now out in the open? The anime inspired a 1 episode prequel.

5. Unbelievable Space Love

A 10-episode anime that each lasts for 1 minute, so this whole experience gets wrapped up in 10 minutes. It is short and straight to the point and all BL fans will admit that this is a cute anime with adorable characters.

The anime is a bit heartbreaking, while there are beautiful moments to make you smile and relive your past experiences, this anime also promises to make you shed a tear. It features more of an emotional connection rather than physical romance, Unbelievable Space Love was released in 2018.

4. Love Love Campus

There’s no love better than college love, and this anime further enforces this notion. Our protagonist, Dojin Kwon, is living his daily life, carrying out all of his activities but something seems wrong… he starts to get a lot of suitors. Did he suddenly get more attractive? What changed?

This BL anime is quite short, just like the previous one on the list but it is sure to put a smile on your face. It aired from 2018 to 2019 with just 4 episodes, it is also known as Dugeun Dugeun Campus.

3. Semantic Error

This hilarious series is exactly what a BL show should be like, the romance in this show is amazing, aided by its stellar animation. Love blossoms even in the midst of adversities, this is the story of a computer science major named Chu Sangwoo and the artist, Jang Jaeyoung.

Chu Sangwoo is a highly principled young man, and when he is fated to work together with the carefree Jaeyoung, their different personalities collide and their world intertwines. This anime is short like the others, and it aired this year.

2. Hyperventilation

This a 2017 Korean Yaoi anime, Hyperventilation is a masterpiece that does its best to draw out all your emotions. In the short run, you will experience anger, fear, sadness, and the greatest of all emotions–love!

The characters are lovely and relatable, their love blooms after high school and while it looks like a red-flag relationship, connections are established. The story develops really well and we are able to understand the dynamics between Myougi and Sunho as they continue their romantic adventure.

1. Mignon

Imagine romance between a boxer and a vampire. Doesn’t it sound too fantastical? 

This romantic story between Mignon and Young on Oh is well animated, the storytelling is great and there is simply no reason not to watch this original anime.

Conclusion
