Captain Tsubasa is one of the most popular soccer anime of all time. Well! This anime is a bit old school, yet it is loved by fans all around the globe. I’m sure most of the peeps here have at least heard about it. Well! It used to air on the TV when I was a kid.
This anime follows the story of a teenager named Tsubasa Oozora. Tsubasa loves soccer and can do anything for it. He even leaves his hometown just to pursue his dream. His dream is to represent Japan in the FIFA World Cup. Can he do it?
As he leaves his hometown, he faces a lot of difficulty. He found some good friends and some amazing rivals who motivate him to do better. The animation of this anime is a bit old. But, I’m sure you’ll love it.

Chobits follows the story of a guy named Hideki Motosuwa. Hideki lives alone as he studies hard to get into college. Hideki is also pretty poor and is barely making ends meet. Well! Most rich people in this world have persocoms. What are persocoms? Persocoms are personal computers that look like human beings. However, Hideki cannot afford one.
One day, Hideki found an abandoned Persocom. He takes it to his apartment and finds out that this Persocom is defective and cannot download information from the internet. Hence, he decides to teach this Persocom. I don’t think it will be easy though, lol!

Yet another amazing anime on this list. Claymore is another pretty popular anime. This anime aired in 2007 and quickly gained popularity.
Claymore follows the story of a girl named Raki, and a Claymore named Clare. What are Claymores? Well! A Claymore is half Youma and half human. Youma are demons that want to destroy humanity. Clare saved Raki when her village was attacked by a Youma and they started traveling together.
As their journey continues, we find out more secrets about Clare and her organization. And one of those secrets is that Clare wants to take revenge against a certain Youma. You’ll find out when you watch the anime.

The animation is pretty decent for an anime this old. I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy this one.

Another romance anime on this list. Clannad is one of the most popular anime of the 2000s. This anime aired in 2007 and quickly gained popularity.
Clannad follows the story of a guy named Tomoya Okazaki. Tomoya is a delinquent who often gets into fights and skips school. He has no motivation and plans to waste his whole life. However, everything changes as he meets Nagisa Furukawa. Nagisa is a quiet girl who lacks self confidence.
Soon, both of them became friends and Tomoya started to change. He decided to help Nagisa achieve her dream of reviving the drama club. The club had other members as well.
The animation style of this anime is a bit awkward and some people might not like it. However, if you can ignore the art style, then this anime is a gem. I can guarantee.

Another romance anime!!! Aren’t there too many romance anime on this list?
I think you can guess that I’m a huge fan of romance, even though I’m not involved in any form of romance in real life. Sad, right?
Chuunibyou follows the story of a teenage girl named Rikka Takanashi AKA the “Wicked Eye”. Well! This title is self proclaimed, lol! Rikka suffers from a condition known as Chuunibyou. In this condition, a person thinks of himself as something special.
The other protagonist of this show, Yuuta Togashi, had already suffered from this condition. But, after meeting Rikka, the scars of his past started to hurt again. The story follows as both of them become friends.
The comedy in this anime is just too good.

Charlotte is another popular anime. The genre of this anime is supernatural and romance. The romance is minimal, but it is still there.
Charlotte follows the story of a teenager named Yuu Otosaka. Yuu is not your ordinary high schooler as he possesses the ability to take over people’s mind and body for 5 seconds. With this ability, he got into a prestigious high school. However, another student who possessed supernatural ability saw through him.
This event leads to the point where Yuu joins the student council of Hoshinoumi High School. The purpose of this council is to find teenagers like Yuu and lead them to a good path. The plot might seem a bit simple, however, it is not.

After a fateful encounter, both of them became friends and decided to pursue their dreams. However, they are up against an AI that rules the music world. Can they achieve their dream? What do you guys say?

Ahhh! This anime was bound to make this list. Chihayafuru is one of my personal favorites. The animation is just amazing.
This anime is about a Japanese card game named Karuta. This game is inspired by traditional Japanese poems. The main protagonist of the show is named Chihaya Ayase. Ayase is an ordinary yet cheerful girl. She has an older sister who is perfect at everything.
However, everything changes as Chihaya meets Arata Wataya. Wataya loves Karuta and is an expert at it. Seeing Arata, Chihaya also fell in love with Karuta and decided to become the Queen. Can she do it?
Also, there is some romance in this anime. You’ll love it for sure.

Classroom of the Elite is another amazing anime. This anime is also quite popular among fans. And guess what? It is getting a new season after 5 years. Fans have been waiting impatiently for this.
Classroom of the Elite follows the story of a teenager named Ayanokouji Kiyotaka. Ayanokouji studies at the prestigious Koudo Ikusei High School. This school is famous for the amount of freedom its students have and the facilities.
However, the ranking system of this high school is far from ideal. Students were ranked according to their intelligence and merit. The worst class is class D in which Ayanokouji studies. But then, Class D still progresses and proves themselves by scoring better than the students of higher classes. The anime is a lot deeper than you think.

Lelouch is a Britannian student in Japan. One day, he got caught in a conflict between the Britannian forces and the Japanese people. In that particular moment, Lelouch got a special power known as “Geass”. This Geass allowed him to manipulate people. Overpowered, right?
With this power, Lelouch decides to take revenge against the Britannian Empire. Revenge? Why? Well! You’ll find out when you watch the anime.
