Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? or DanMachi for short, isn’t just famous for its story and great animation, you know? It is considered as one of the series with the weirdest title in the anime universe. But, what’s funny is that some of the anime that resembles it actually won the same award!

Now, we all know that DanMachi is pretty unique, it’s not an isekai but it feels like one, it’s not an action anime and yet the fight scenes, combos, abilities, skills, and special moves are just WOW!
This romantic comedy is like a puff of fresh air, refreshing, cheerful, and at the same time exciting and blood pumping. Let’s see what other anime falls into the categories.

Kazuma Satou was already a pathetic high schooler, a loner with no friends, and guess what, his death was just as boring as him. But at least, he didn’t actually die since when he opened his eyes once again and he laid them on a beautiful but obnoxious not-so-young Goddess known as Aqua.
The Goddess gave him a choice, he can go to Heaven and enjoy eternal peace or reincarnate in a game-like universe. He is a NEET, so guess what option he chooses.
He turned into a hero, his goal is to defeat the Demon Lord, and he also obtained some kind of a cheat bonus since he can choose any item he wants to start his adventure.
Thinking he was smart, the boy chose Aqua without knowing that she is a Goddess just by name, but the girl is actually a weakling.
I didn’t choose this anime just because the title also has an abbreviation. Just like DanMachi, you will find that romantic and comical vibe, plus the abundance of colors and neat animation are on par with the series. Oh and let’s not forget about the RPG element.

There is not one otaku that respects himself that hasn’t at least heard about Sword Art Online (SAO). I mean it’s just the greatest isekai anime ever made with the best RPG element.
Kirito, another NEET, super hyped about the new game that was just released, put his nerve gear on and his mind traveled into the fantastic world of Aincrad.
He played to his heart’s content and time to log out. But where is the log-out button? It seems to be missing!
Nope think again, they are now all trapped in the game. Sounds fun and all if it wasn’t for the fact that if you die here, you will also die in the real world.
The players now have to put their lives on the line to clear the game if they ever want to go back to their own world again.
I don’t need to tell you why it’s on the list right? I said it before, it’s the best RPG anime out there, even better than DanMachi I can guarantee that with utmost confidence.

You can consider Log Horizon as a lesser version of Sword Art Online. Players get trapped in their favorite game, the only major difference is that they don’t know what they have to do to get out.
The adventurers turn a town into their village, build an economic system based on work and rewards just like in the real world, and are all working together to survive. When they die, they will respawn but at a cost, a piece of their memories.
More based on politics, social and economical aspects than action with a hint of a love story and drama, this anime would be perfect to dive into just after finishing watching DanMachi.

I think Shinichi Kanou hit the jackpot. The boy is an otaku who knows nothing except anime, manga, and games.
Sure to become a failure as an adult in the future he didn’t try to improve himself or anything, it’s just that, for once, the government came through for someone, even if the method was a bit extreme.
They kidnapped him, threw him into a fantasy world filled with any dirty otaku’s dream, beautiful elves with their traditional no-clothes style on, and were tasked with the mission to spread the otaku culture in this new world.
A dream job that we deserve more than him right? He was also given a Kakkoii title, he is now an “Otaku Missionary”.

What I’m about to say will most probably get you all hooked in a second, so prepare yourselves. The only anime that utterly destroys DanMachi in terms of fan service is your one and only No Game No Life.
This series is a very weird mixture of overload of intelligence and dirtiness at its peak and for some reason, it turned into an amazing combination.
Two genius siblings, when I say genius I mean maybe smarter than Light and Lelouch, got isekai’d into a world ruled by games, Disboard
See, the God of Disboard challenged them to a game of chess and lost. He was such a bad loser that he brought them to his world just so he can have a rematch!
While any normal main characters would try to go back to their original universe, those two just intend to turn that paradise place into their very own kingdom by using their brains.
