One of the hottest anime of the moment is, of course, Blue Lock! The manga almost broke the internet, and the announcement of the anime was the most exciting news in months.

With only a few episodes out, it’s already THE topic of conversation among the Otakus of the world, and I can understand why production outdid themselves.
A lot of powerful sentences were mentioned in the series, things were said that imprinted on us and maybe that’s why this manga became so popular so fast. Let’s check out some of them, shall we?
BLUE LOCK QUOTES THAT WILL MAKE YOU THE BIGGEST EGOIST
25. “Football is a sport played with 11 people. So, one person can’t win on their own. Football isn’t just for one… One for all… I wanted to win!” – Yoichi Isagi
In a way that is stated is true, you can’t play football on your own. You need a team. However, sometimes, it all comes down to one person, one decision, and one shot.
To go to Nationals, to have a chance to win the match, Isagi needed a goal, just one to equalize the scores.
He decided to pass, but his teammate missed the shot, a shot that he would’ve probably gotten into the net. One wrong choice and it was all over for them.
24. “Nonsense? It is nonsensical indeed. But then, so is the world. Either you win or you lose. While you were getting excited over your mediocre successes, true strikers tread a path of winning or losing everything. Every single day, in order to keep on surviving.” – Jinpachi Ego
It might be a gamble to choose egoism, however, you can’t make it big without taking immense risks. Playing safe won’t get you anywhere, or maybe a mediocre career at best.
You have to bet all you have to gain all that you desire. It might get you a win, it might get you a loss. But in the end, that’s how great strikers are born.

I really would have been happy just being able to keep playing soccer with Isagi by my side. I don’t want to lose the first friend I’ve ever made. Bachira has a monster in him, just like Isagi. When he first appeared in the series, he was just a carefree character doing everything the voices told him to do. I guess he still does.
However, he evolved. He found something greater than just playing football and that’s playing with a partner you have complete faith in, a friend, a true one.
As badass as Bachira is, we all know that when he sets his mind to something, he’ll probably get it. Go Bachira!
22. “If you’re surrounded with all your special buddies, you could be able to synergize, by your lonesome, your coordination is nothing but mediocre. I guess watching all those VTR videos had results after all. I’m gonna crush you and your team.” – Tabito Karasu
Big talk coming out of the mouth of a big guy. Extremely confident and with good reasons, that amazing football player is a challenge in itself.
If enemies get stronger, that will only pump him up, nothing better than powerful opponents to crush.
However, underestimating people might one day become his Achilles heel.

Luck plays a huge role in any kind of sport. You can’t play without taking into consideration its unexpected effect. And the problem is, at some point, you will have to rely on it.
You have to have faith, trust your instincts, hear the voices inside your head, and move without thinking and luck will be on your side.

Ohhh!!! What an insult! Predictable, that’s what Isagi is. in front of great erratic players, he was the easy prey, the weak link in the chain.
That sure had to hurt when Nanase said it and to his face at that. Well, now, the challenge would be to prove him wrong of course. Is Isagi man enough to do it? Talented enough to do it?

Giving his all to achieve something we dream to fulfill is inspiring. Struggling and fighting harder and harder every day to get one step closer to that goal is beautiful.
This is exactly what Kunigami is doing. In front of adversity, he doesn’t back down, he pushes harder. He doesn’t care how he looks or what other people may think.
This is how all of us should do, he is an example to follow, and there is absolutely nothing embarrassing about that.

This is actually very accurate. Very deep Hiori. The same concept can be applied to a football game.
At the beginning of the match, the scores are zero – zero. No need to rush, everyone is taking their time, analyzing the enemy, and coming up with tactics.
However, when the buzzer is about to come off, everything changes. No time to think, no time for hesitation, you just have to go with your guts.

It’s the very act of living an explosion of life, you could say. Let’s have at it, hero. You won’t find anyone as fair or as in love with football as me, you know?” – Ryusei Shido
Passion, it’s beautiful, isn’t it? Sometimes that’s all you need to go from average to great. That’s all you need to overpower players that might be better than you.
Fair play and love for the game make all the difference. A strong opponent becomes an exiting challenge, a loss becomes the reason to try harder, and a win will turn into the most astonishing feeling on Earth.
15. “Congratulations, you unpolished gems. All you Under-18 strikers have been chosen solely based on my criteria and biases to be here. All 300 of you. I am Jinpachi Ego. Jinpachi’s introduction was just epic. He went against everything that is taught in sports. He threw away teamwork, camaraderie, and fair play and made football a game of survival made to be practiced by the strong.
He has a vision, an unusual one, something that is completely out of the box and that’s exactly what Japan needs.
He lit a fire in the eyes of young strikers and there is no doubt they will come out of the experience transformed, for the better of course.
14. “As long as I can win against Nagi, I don’t care about anything else… I will make him say that he needs me.” – Reo Mikage
Rivalry, or is it? The desire to be acknowledged by someone stronger than you, we all felt that. The feeling that we are indispensable to someone is great but difficult to acquire.
Thing is, the easiest way to make it happen is to crush that person, utterly destroy him, and make him experience what it is like to be against you, what he is missing out on.
In short, that’s Mikage’s plan, now the hard part will be to make it happen successfully.

Nothing is more entertaining than watching rivals destroying themselves before you while all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the show, right?
12. “I won’t let my teammates drag me down with them again!” – Wataru Kuon
It’s frustrating to be on a team that is clearly below your level. They drag you down, cost you victory, and make you look bad.
The question is, what can you do about it when you are stuck with them? I guess Kuon will be giving us the answer in the series.

What a great feeling it is when an opponent realizes that they have been underestimating the wrong people.
The look on their face when they realize that a battle they thought already won turned into a full-out blood bath on the field.
That’s a lesson we should all learn, never take someone lightly. Judge after facing them yourself and always go all out no matter who you are up against.

Isagi is getting roasted a lot here. Looked down upon, insulted, and treated like the weakest player in Blue Lock.
And yet, in that overly competitive environment, he is still standing, and there sure is a reason behind it.
He will shock us, in the end, he isn’t the main character of the series for nothing, right?
9. “Football’s most basic form is the 1-on-1. If I can drag the situation on that I can proudly say I’m the strongest in Japan.” – Kenyu Yukimiya
Mmm, I have many ways to argue on that, however, I won’t get any comebacks, so I won’t bother. However, I can see where Yukimiya is coming from.
The 1-on-1’s in football are crucial, with no help whatsoever from your teammate, it’s a stalemate that all depends on you.
Managing to win all the 1-on-1’s you ever got yourself into is of course the sign that an amazing player is out on the field right now.
8. “A striker who chokes in front of the goal simply doesn’t have what it takes to be one.” – Shoei Baro
Baro was completely astonished when Isagi just passed the ball to his teammate instead of taking the shot himself.
I mean, didn’t he learn? Good thing he at least put it on in, however, his action goes against everything that they are trying to achieve.
He let go of his ego and decided to let someone else have their great moment. If he is too unconfident to shoot when he gets the chance, then Isagi has no place in Blue Lock, he can’t even be called a striker.
7. “Back when becoming one with the ball was all that mattered. Back when that was the only reason I needed to play soccer!! For me there is nothing in this world that’s more fun than this!! Fight lose yourself!! That fire is within me!! I will become the monster even if there’s nobody else waiting for me!!” – Meguru Bachira
Bachira is a weirdo, the most interesting weirdo of the series. I think he is the only player that has so much fun playing football and that’s how it’s supposed to be, no? Why play a sport that you don’t enjoy?
6. “The difference between me and Rin is the difference in our resolve to accept. I sure am lame. I thought I’d finally reached Rin. No, I even thought I’d won against him. I lost to him, and was just picked to go on! I have to accept that reality!! Otherwise, there won’t be a next time. I have to incorporate that piece called ‘Luck’ in my thought process. I have to update my understanding on a fundamental level!! In order to win against Rin, I have to become a newer version of myself!!” – Yoichi Isagi
A loss doesn’t have to be the end of the world. A loss can be the start of a new beginning, a trigger that will push you to try so much harder that you will transform into an overpowered version of yourself.
Isagi digested his loss, accepted it, and it was that loss that helped him grow. He grew so much that no one will ever dare to say he is the weak link of the team!
5. “Remember, It’s one for all and all for one!” – Isagi’s high school coach
Goody two shoes are really the worst. They think that if they play fair and by the rulers if they indulge in teamwork, everything will work out just fine.
Isagi’s coach in high school had a motto: It’s one for all and all for one! Football is a game that is played by 11 people, you can’t win alone.
So when Isagi was about to make his shot, a shot that might have led his team to the nationals, that sentence passed through his mind and he passed the ball which cost him victory.
4. “The only reason I am who I am now is because of the guys on this team.” – Ryousuke Kira
In the first episode of Blue Lock, because of Isagi’s pass, Kira’s team won the game super easily. While Isagi was blaming himself for giving the ball to his teammate instead of taking the shot himself, Kira was having an interview and he said that if it wasn’t for his team, he wouldn’t be the player he is today, ironic, isn’t it?
3. “You can’t become the world’s best striker unless you are the world’s biggest egoist.” – Jinpachi Ego
Jinpachi invited a bunch of hopeful football players to participate in his “Blue Lock” experiment. However, his way of thinking wasn’t really welcomed with open arms.
To make his point, to convince the youth of who right he was, he gave many examples based on the top international football players.
Each one is more egocentric than the other, only one conclusion could be drawn. If you wanna become a great striker, you are going to have to think about you and you alone.
Take that egocentric shot, forget your teammates and stand on a pile of bodies even if those bodies belong to your friends.
2. “Abandon all common sense. On the field, you are the star.” – Jinpachi Ego
Even if passing is more logical, even if backing out would be the best option, on the football field you have to let go of common sense, and let your instincts guide your steps.
Be unpredictable, wild, and most importantly, egotistical. Trust only you and your skills. Don’t leave it to someone else, grab victory with your own hands, and become the star with your own talent.
1. “If I don’t change, I’ll still be the same person. I came here to change my life. I came here to become the best in the world. Unless I beat someone stronger than me, nothing will change!” – Yoichi Isagi
It was just a game of tag, however, it was a game of tag that was going to determine the future of so many talented football players. Lose and you will never be able to make it to the national team.
Isagi was “It”. Only 10 seconds remained on the clock and yet, instead of aiming at the injured guy on the floor, he went after the best player in the group Kira!
With the help of another crazy player, he put one right in the middle of his face, getting him out of the competition for good. He just ended someone’s career.
Conclusion
That was deep and inspiring. Many lessons can be taught from the player’s way of thinking, from their state of mind before or after a match.
