The Shikon Jewel is an important jewel that can increase one’s strength and no other jewel exists in the world of InuYasha. Therefore, everyone’s after it. It is of great importance. This is the story of a half-human on a journey with a full-human aka Kagome to find the lost pieces of Shikon Jewel.
The plot begins with Kagome’s fifteenth birthday. She’s looking for a cat but in that process, she gets dragged into a well known as “Enshrined Bone Eater’s Well” by some demon. Since Kagome lives on the ground of her grandmother’s shrine, she went through such a situation. Kagome didn’t really fall into the well, instead, she got teleported to a whole new world. It’s the parallel universe where this demon was defeated by a priestess, a strong one, named Kikyo. Kagome turns out to be the reincarnation of Kikyo.
Since Kikyo had the Shikon Jewel, Kagome also ends up having that powerful jewel. Now, a guy named InuYasha lives in this world who’s after this jewel and who fought Kikyo. Inuyasha
Inuyasha is one of our main characters who is known to be a “dog demon”. His father used to be a great demon who went by the name of Toga. While he was trying to get the Shikon Jewel from Kikyo by the sacred tree, he was attacked by an arrow. He thought that this jewel would make him even more powerful and he would become a full demon.
Kikyo’s reincarnation freed him from this spell. But after some time, the Shikon Jewel was torn into pieces by Kagome. And now Inuyasha has to find the lost pieces along with Kagome. Inuyasha’s childhood was rather lonely since the kids made fun of him being “half-breed”. He was neither accepted by humans nor demons.
Since Inuyasha was unable to fight back as a kid, he usually hid. This made him hostile and defensive towards everyone. He didn’t open up to Kagome for a long time and wasn’t even nice to her. He intended to protect the Shikon Jewel mostly that’s why he protected Kagome.
Inuyasha has an intense fighting style. He’s always devoted to winning, his strong will is worth-appreciating as well. It takes him some time to trust others and open up to them. We mostly see him speaking in a harsh manner. So, if you got Inuyasha, you tend to take your time to open up to others and are a tsundere.
Kagome Higurashi
Kagome Higurashi is the OG Female MC who was the reincarnation of Kikyo in a parallel world. She didn’t know that she was born with the Shikon Jewel inside her body until her fifteenth birthday when it was taken out by a Yokai. This Shikon Jewel was later shattered by Kagome which dispersed into pieces. Now, Kagome along with Inuyasha, has to find those pieces.
She’s a risk-taker. Even though she was reincarnated into another world, she didn’t panic that much. Kagome is a brave girl and on top of that, she’s empathetic and she loves helping others. Kagome is a pure-hearted girl who might come off as naive at times. She’s quite expressive and that’s why she doesn’t have to say how she feels.
Since she got reincarnated into a completely different world of horrors, she did panic at times. I mean, who wouldn’t panic after seeing those giant centipedes flying in the sky? Kagome gets quite mean, she gets so done with Inuyasha that she casts a spell by saying “Osuwari” which makes him sit down impulsively. Mostly, this girl gets saved by Inuyasha in battles. However, she tries her best to come up with solutions. So, if you’re Kagome, you’re kind and strong!
Kikyo
Kikyo used to be the love-interest of Inuyasha. She was a priestess who lived for around 50 years. She was responsible for purifying the well-known Shikon Jewel. Since Kikyo was betrayed by Hanyo Naraku, she put Inuyasha against the tree and tried to defeat him with a bow and arrow. Kikyo did something epic though, she sacrificed her own life to protect the Shikon Jewel. Little did she know, her reincarnation, aka Kagome, will bring the jewel back into this world.
Kikyo is known to be very kind, caring, and loving. She was exceptionally good with children. As a priestess, she was quite dutiful and did her responsibilities just on time. She was compassionate as well. She cares a lot about her loved ones, especially her sister. So, if you got Kikyo, you’re nice and compassionate.
Sesshomaru
All hail the king aka Sesshoumaru. I won’t mind him stepping on me, FOR REAL! He’s also known as the “Destruction of Life”. Did that intimidate you? Unlike other yokai, Sesshoumaru had no greed towards the Shikon Jewel. He’s one of the strongest yokai. In fact, he’s the brother of Hanyou Inuyasha.
He’s quite an experienced fighter. He’s prideful and he should be, because he’s quite powerful. When someone looks at him, they get intimidated by his graceful yet powerful aura. If you don’t believe me, see for yourself. If you got Sesshomaru, you’re strong and calm most of the time.
Miroku
Miroku is one of the travellers who got cursed by Naraku. Even though he’s a bit easygoing yet he’s strong. His bravery is on the next level, he is ready to sacrifice himself when the situation requires it. Miroku has played a vital role in protecting Kagome and Sango. Though, at times, he tends to become prideful but that doesn’t stop him from helping his loved ones. So, if you got Miroku you’re brave and prefer to help those in need.
Naraku
Naraku is one of the antagonists in the anime. Just like any other villain, he has wicked schemes for his opponents. He’s powerful and manipulative. He’s very sadistic and loves to see people suffer. Naraku wants nothing more than “power”. As the story progresses, we see how Naraku lacks the ability to understand the true meaning of friendship and love. Even Kagome explained how he could have been different, if he understood the true power of friendship and love.
Shippo
Shippo is one of the fastest characters. He’s like Anya but belongs to the wild. He’s cute and bubbly. Shippo possesses the features of humans as well as foxes. When I first saw him, I thought he’d be a girl but then it turns out he’s actually a boy! Shippo has a strong spirit, he doesn’t give up easily. It’s true that this little guy got smacked on his head by Inuyasha several times for being super annoying. Shippo is full of life and his strategies to defeat enemies are second to none!
Sango
Sango is one of the waifus in the anime. She’s known to be the strongest demon slayer. (Tengen Uzui in the background: Am I a joke to you?) Since she worked and grew up as a demon slayer, she’s brave, independent, and strong. She doesn’t let her feelings get in the way of her duties. Sango is really nice to her younger siblings, her selfless love for her family will make you cry. If you wanna know more about her, watch InuYasha!
