However, when he gets more involved in the band of mercenaries, he experiences the realities of the violent and bloody world in which he lives. That’s when he starts questioning his actions and the path he has chosen.

Thorfinn
Thorfinn is the main character of the series and the son of the most famous Jomsviking named Thors. He is driven by a desire for revenge against Askeladd, the man who killed his father. He joins Askeladd’s band of mercenaries, hoping to one day have the opportunity to kill him. However, as he spends more time with Askeladd and the other members of the group, Thorfinn begins to question the violence and bloodshed that defines his life.
As a child, Thorfin used to be innocent and cheerful. He used to look up to his father and was impressed by his feats. However, after the death of his father, he became cold and quiet. He was never shown to talk openly with anyone. He developed a nasty temper and became impulsive. He stopped caring about anyone as he was blinded by revenge. However, after the death of Askeladd, he lost his purpose and became empty. No matter how brutal or grumpy he looks, Thorfinn has a heart of gold.

Askeladd
Askeladd is the leader of the band of mercenaries and the main antagonist of the series. He is a ruthless warrior who is driven by his ambition and his desire to gain power and wealth. Despite his cruelty and willingness to kill without hesitation, Askeladd is also a complex character who is haunted by his own past and the actions that he has taken. Askeladd was a manipulative and cunning guy who cared about nothing more than himself. He was absolutely brutal during the battles he took part in. He had this natural charisma that moved people to do whatever he wanted. While he looks like a ruthless and cruel individual there are moments when he has shown a sense of compassion and humanity. This shows that he was not entirely an evil person.

Canute
Canute is the young prince of Denmark and one of the main characters in the story. Canute is portrayed as a kind, compassionate and well-intentioned young man who is driven by a desire to bring peace to his people. He is initially naive and inexperienced, but as the series progresses, he matures into a strong and capable leader.
Canute is a good listener and is willing to hear other people’s opinions. He also cares deeply about his people and is genuinely interested in their welfare. Throughout the series, we see him struggling to balance his desire for peace with the harsh realities of the political landscape of his time. He is also quick to learn and is able to adapt to different situations, this is evident when he quickly learns the language of the Vinland and makes alliances with the local people.
In addition, Canute has a strong moral compass, he is a person who is motivated by his sense of duty and justice and is always trying to do the right thing, even if it is difficult. This is evident in his willingness to put his life on the line to protect his people and his determination to bring peace to his kingdom.

Thorkell
He is a massive, powerful warrior and one of Askeladd’s top fighters. Thorkell is initially portrayed as a loyal and fierce warrior. He is dedicated to his leader and his comrades and is willing to fight and die for them. He is skilled in combat and has a calm and stoic personality. He’s also a mentor and a close friend to Thorfinn, as well as a key figure in the story as he becomes a mediator in many conflicts and decisions that shape the story. However, as the series progresses, it becomes clear that Thorkell has his own motivations and desires that go beyond his loyalty to Askeladd. Thorkell is a complex and multifaceted character, whose actions and motivations are driven by his own personal beliefs and experiences. He is someone who is not afraid to question authority and challenge it. He’s also one of the most interesting characters with blonde hair.
