For the history buffs out there, Kingdom is known to be lifted from the history of warfare in China. Although some of the characters were gender-bent, it still left an impact on its audience with its genius storytelling and compelling character development. It gives us an exciting perspective when viewing and learning historical aspects. Though it may seem weird during the first season with the CGI going on, don’t worry about it! Things get better with the succeeding seasons as we get to see our favorite characters grow up. With four seasons and a live-action movie in the mix, why don’t we take a quiz and see which character we might be?

WHICH KINGDOM CHARACTER ARE YOU?

Characters Included
Ri Shin
Shin is the protagonist of the series and is a charismatic individual. As a general, he exudes loyalty and confidence—as he should since he’s won countless battles. Though his war stories are long and plenty, his temper, on the other hand, is quite short. His hotheadedness would often cause him and Ka Ryo Ten to butt heads, but that could be due to their sibling-like relationship.
His temper may be considered harmless when bickering with his comrades. But his rage knows no bounds when provoked by his enemies. No doubt, this courageous and headstrong commander would wipe us out of existence. I’d rather not be on the receiving end of this one, thank you very much.
You’re probably like Shin, who serves as a beacon that makes everyone around you pumped up. You’re definitely the life of the party. Everyone would probably look for you and would only show up if you were there! You are also a good friend that others can lean on and look up to. Just don’t forget to set boundaries—you may also want some me time.
Ka Ryo Ten
Ka Ryo Ten, or Ten, is a survival expert that can bring victory to any war. She is an important asset to the Hi Shi Army. As a strategist, she prides herself on her keen perception and inquisitive nature. Her skills were shaped during her childhood journey as an orphan. She had to fend for herself at the age of five.
Despite being the last descendant of her tribe, she makes the most of her life by fighting for her friends. She is able to keep her focus during battle while devising plans to ensure their victory.
You are likely to be her! You are able to juggle several tasks and be able to deliver results. Though life may not have been entirely kind to you, you do what you can in order to protect those who are dear to you. You’re an important individual that most can’t live without. But don’t forget to take a breather now and then. You worked really hard in order to get where you are, and that’s amazing! Just remember to breathe when you can!
Kyou Kai
Kyou Kai is known to have a quiet and reserved personality. She’s a woman of few words who would prefer to only speak when giving advice. Though her personality doesn’t quite add up, she’s a beast with her swordsmanship. She is also goal-oriented as she constantly planned how she would avenge her sister. She has incredible control of her strength and is proud of where she came from.
Like Kyou Kai, you are reserved and would prefer to keep to yourself at times. But you have close-knit friends you care about and would do anything for them! Aside from this, you have dreams of your own and you are eager to achieve them, but you may also have this side where you ask people not to cross the line… or else all hell may break loose. I mean, how often do they see you get mad?? Let’s just hope you don’t blow up like a volcano.
Ou Hon
Ou Hon is of noble heritage; he prides himself on his nobility and his position as a commander. He sees himself as higher than the commoners, resulting in his arrogance at times. Along with his twisted ideals, he is harsh on himself, making sure to practice with his spear with precision and perfection. Ou did not like Shin initially, because of his belief in a hierarchy. But soon enough, his views slowly change, and he respects those who are powerful.
If you got Ou Hon, then you pride yourself on who you are. You also make sure that everything that you do, you do with perfection—no mistakes. Although you may be comparing yourself to others, try to remember that we’re all equal and everyone’s different. You also acknowledge those who are able to make something of themselves with their hard work. Although you may rather surround yourself with people who are a lot like you, try to remember that a little diversity ain’t so bad.
Ei Sei
Initially, Sei had a cold demeanor because he was not treated well despite being a royal. Their exile taught him several aspects of life, one of which made him think those beneath him were nothing but tools. He viewed Shin in this way initially, he clearly had his walls built since what happened to him was traumatic. He slowly grew closer to Shin and eventually learned to depend on him. Trusting someone was something that he had to learn, and his friendship with Shin depicts that.
Nothing wrong with being similar to Ei Sei, it shows that you may have struggled in the past with people around you, and that’s okay! The world has its ups and downs, and people can act mean around you. But, like Sei, you are able to vibe with certain individuals and let your guard down. Remember to choose your friends wisely, and keep those people who help you grow and learn about yourself. Those walls you built can stay there, but don’t expect people to not try and climb them! Just make sure those people who are trying to understand you, are your real friends.
Kingdom in a Nutshell
Kingdom is essentially a retelling of China’s history in the era of the Warring States. We start with two war orphans, Shin and Hyou, who aspire to become the “Greatest Generals of the Heavens,” but the dream would never be achieved. Hyou was suddenly abducted with no explanation whatsoever, only to return to Shin barely alive. Hyou was able to convince Shin to travel to another village where vagrants live.
There, he finds the ugly truth about his friend’s state. Hyou was used as a body double for Ei Sei and was gravely injured and later died. Though enraged, Shin decided to help Ei Sei take the throne. Shin takes the opportunity to help the young king reclaim the throne.
They succeeded, and by doing so, Shin became the Qin commander and is close to achieving his dream of becoming “The Greatest General in the World.” Not only that, but he also acquired a new dream from Ei Sei, to unify all of China and finally end the war for good.
