Darling in the Franxx had quite the diverse set of characters. Each one of them has a very unique personality paired with their own set of morals. They all have different goals, use different methods to try and achieve them.

Thing is, in the end, each one of them is here to teach us a lesson by making us see the world through their eyes, their perspective. Thanks to them we learned something about the people around us and most importantly we learned something about ourselves.
You think I’m being too deep? That’s what anime is all about. They probe into your heart, dig out your weakness and insecurities and then show you that you are not alone in this mess and that there is still a chance for a better future, yes even for you!
A lot of series helped us get through tough times and get over some agonizing emotions and Darling in the Franxx was one of them.
There was surely a character you related to more than others, a character that touched you deep into your soul. And maybe there were other characters you looked up to and wished you could be more like them.

Plot
Humankind is in big trouble. Earth is nearly done for, our beautiful Blue planet is only the shadow of what it used to be. It turned into a post-apocalyptic wasteland with nothing left to offer.
On the brink of extinction, humans are still trying to save what is left of them. What are they up against? Just a giant overpowered alien species that came from outer space just to annihilate them. They ended up calling them Klaxosaurs.
They divided that species into four sub categories based on size, “Conrad”, “Mohorovičić”, “Gutenberg” and “(Super) Lehmann”, you know, to make it look like there are at least some enemies weaker than the other. Let them find some hope where they can.
Outnumbered and outgunned, let’s just say humanity had limited options and had to choose the most extreme option to insure victory. They artificially created some sort of parasites that they implanted into small kids to turn them into the weapons that will turn the tide of the war. The kids themselves aren’t the actual weapon of course, they are the weapons pilots. Every male and female pair are entrusted with a mecha, a giant robot called Franxx. The male pilot is called “stamen”, and the female one is called “pistil”. Fun Fact: Those names are what the reproductive parts of a flower are called. Oh, and one last detail, those parasites don’t have much of a life span and thus the kids they are transplanted to as well. Cruel isn’t it? Cruel but necessary…
Raised to be soldiers, the children were not given names but codes and when the experimental phase was over, the first experimental platoon was created.
Code 016 was assigned to this platoon. Once a prodigal pilot, he suddenly lost the ability to synchronize with his female partner. While all his comrades were graduating to become official pilots he alone was left on the side bench.
However, it was because he missed the graduation ceremony that he got to meet Zero Two or Code 002.
She is a veteran Franxx pilot with extraordinary talent, however, she has a foul reputation and not just because she has Klaxosaurs blood running through her veins, she is also infamous for being the “Partner Killer”.Very single Code who was paired with her died and she was partnerless yet again. Hiro
Hiro is a very optimistic character. He believes that everybody is unique, that everybody matters in his own way. Completely against the code system, he gave names to the children around him, real names, not numbers, names that defined them.
If you got Hiro then you are a brave, free spirit person. You are tenacious and full of curiosity about the world and the people that surround you!
A prodigious pilot, he became a role model to all the children around him. Of course, this was all before he was stripped for his memories and part of his personality. However, after he met Zero Two again, he started reverting back to his original true self.

Goro
When he was a kid, Goro hated people. He was a loner who couldn’t stand the presence of strangers. He’d instigate fights with his comrades to make sure they end up despising him. That way he could be left alone.
He was just fine like this, he could take care of every single one of his problems on his own, however, even if that was the case, his meeting with Hiro and Ichigo did change that side of him.
If you got Goro then you are a bit of an introvert who cherishes his alone time. You are confident in yourself, in your skills and deep down, the people that you respect, that you love are worth sacrificing your life for!
Deep down, the true Goto turned out to be a selfless character ready to sacrifice his life for his friends.

Mitsuru
Mitsuru is the quiet character of the bunch. Shy and reserved, the first time true happiness showed on his face was when Hiro gave him his very own name. He looked up to him and they ended up making a promise together, a promise that Hiro ended up forgetting.
Because of that event, Mitsuru’s personality changed. He lost his faith in people and turned into an arrogant and prideful pilot with a very cynical aspect of life.
The strong front that he always puts up is a facade that hides his insecurities. Turning to cockyness and violence to prove his superiority, he learned the harsh way that that was not the definition of power.
The one who managed to fix him was Kokoro and thanks to her the kindness that was the original base of his personality resurfaced. Not only that, as he fell deeply in love with the women, his overprotective and attentionate side also arises from his enclosed heart.
If you got Mitsuru then you are the quiet type. Although you have some difficulties putting your trust in others, when you find the right people to care for you will do absolutely anything for them!

Zorome
He is the jealous and sarcastic type of character that wouldn’t mind disturbing the peace for his own selfish desires. He is also kind of a pervert and a womanizer.
However, despite all his bad qualities, Zoromo is a person you can always entrust your back to. Extremely caring towards his friends, he would do absolutely anything to protect them, even throwing away his immense ego.
If you got Zorome that means you have quite the hyperactive personality. Cheerful and fun and you listen to your instincts and your heart before listening to your head. However, when it really matters, you are always there for your friends and family!

Conclusion
Now don’t worry too much, I know it’s a personality quiz but it’s still just a game and the character you got doesn’t necessarily mean you are like him. Except if you liked who you got then you can take it seriously.
However, keep in mind that it is the bad things about ourselves that we usually don’t see so maybe this little quiz can become a wakeup call for some of you.
Personalities are vast and complex, this is of course not enough to really understand another person but the thing that I concluded from this blog is that people can change.
