Pokemon GO became THE game to play the second it got out. Pokemon fans, Otakus, and even the normal boring people who live on the other side of our anime universe went crazy over it.
Table of Contents
It became one of the most addicting games in existence, and hard to believe, but it even put people in mortal danger, LOL.
There are no battles, nor epic tournaments and challenges, the ultimate goal of this game is basically to complete your Pokedex and catch all the game Pokemons.
Officially, there are 905 Pokemons in total and that number includes the 8th generation, newcomers, however, for some reason, the developer decided to skip the 5th and 6th generation, leaving us with a shortened list.
And you know what, that’s not so bad since the game would’ve bankrupted us considering that in some special cases, traveling is one of the only ways to get your missing piece.
Some not very sane people actually do so, that’s just how obsessed they are with the game and go on a nice huntation (Pokemon hunting + Vacation, my creation, add it in your dictionary).
At least we can help them make sure they didn’t go to the other side of the world for nothing by giving them some useful tips and tricks to make sure that they put their hands on the Pokemon they desire.
Let’s start with a quick list of all the regional Pokemons and where on Earth you can find them, then we will dive into more juicy details.

The Rarest Pokemon in Pokemon GO And How To Find Them
Now let’s get down to business, it’s not only the regional Pokemons who are super hard to find, there are many more that can maybe take a lifetime to acquire.
It just bothers me that the game is smarter than you are, so let’s put one in the developer’s face and make sure all of you finish this blog with a complete Pokedex.
Now I won’t lie to you, what’s coming is not the entire perfect list of all the rare beasts that are impossible to find, but it’s pretty close to completion and all the critical ones are of course, here.
The first thing you have to keep in mind is that not only the country where you reside matters but also where in that country you live.
For example, the few of you who are maybe living near the sea will have a much higher chance to come across a super scarce Water-type Pokemon.
The second important detail is consistency. The players who are truly dedicated to the game and obtained a greater Trainer Level than others will encounter much more rare Pokemon and much more frequently as well.
The reason behind that is that the Trainer Level that you have stealthily opens a collection of Pokemon directly in the wild spawn pool which differs depending on the level you are on. In a nutshell, the better Trainer you are, the better the Pokemon will run into your Pokeballs.
The last general tip that I can give you before diving into yet more details is to never miss the games’ special events like for example Community Day.
During those events, you can be sure that unusual Pokemons will make their appearance. Also, collecting eggs, go on a walk, do some cardio, and hatch Pokemons who knows what might come out of it, may be a nice surprise, if you are super duper ultra extremely lucky.
Rare Pokemon List
Rotom
The Pokemon that has the honor of commemorating the opening of our list is Rotom. He is a super tricky Pokemon to acquire since a prerequisite is needed, a prerequisite that you can no longer get.
Officially, this Pokemon has as many as 6 forms, however, just one of those 6 forms was included in Pokemon GO.
Currently, he could’ve become yours if you had bought a 2020 Go Fest ticket and photobombed him with the assistance of Go Snapshot. Those tickets obviously expired a long time ago and now you can only put your hands on him if an idiot accepts to trade with you.
However, not all hope is lost since there are 5 other forms that should soon join the ranks of Pokemon Go and with them new possibilities will open before you. So, my young trainers, be patient, your time will surely come.
The Lake Guardians – Azelf, Uxie and Mesprit
Azelf, Uxie and Mesprit are the three guardian angels of Lake Sinnoh, but more importantly, they are also the exclusive Legendary Pokemons who spawn in the wild. Yeah, you read that right, you can’t find them in contests or events but outside, and yet they are extremely difficult to get and I’ll tell you why.
First of all, their spawn rate is too little to matter and they are members of the Regional Pokemon Clan. They were mentioned in the above list that you, of course, didn’t read.
Uxie can be found in Asia and in the Pacific regions, Mesprit can be found in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India, finally, Azelf can be found in America and in Greenland.
If they are the missing piece of your Pokedex puzzle, pack your bags, it’s a sign that it’s time to travel the world and go on a magnificent adventure.
If traveling for the game is too extreme for you, you may encounter Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf in some five-star raids, or not, you never know…
Unown
Unown can be found in the wild most of the time during unique events like for example Go Fest. Otherwise, his spawn rate is extremely low if not nonexistent.
If you are ever blessed by Arceus’ presence in the game, immediately use Golden Razz Berries to capture Unown!
Each year only 28 Unown will appear, you will find them scattered into the multiple events that are going to be held. Awaken the hardcore competitor sleeping in you and whip the floor with your enemies or come back next year and try again with the other losers.
Galarian Mr. Mime and Mr. Rime
Galarian Mr. Mime’s is no common Pokemon, he was only released through a pay-to-play special research quest called Tap… Tap… Tappity-Tap. And that was in 2020, he was only encountered again a year after. So you can imagine how rare his stem is.
In 2021, he was released again through multiple 2021 Holiday limited research quests.
If you failed to make it to the events, that means that Galarian Mr. Mime is probably the missing Pokemon in your Pokedex. Sorry to tell you that but you have no other way to get him.
Logically, he may be available again when the December 2022 Holidays events start. That’s only speculation, not trying to get your hopes up for nothing.
Now here is the hard way to get your missing Pokemon, if the events didn’t come through for you and you have a Mr. Rime, evolve him.
To do so, you first need to collect 50 Mr. Mime candy. Use them on your Pokemon and he will evolve into Galarian Mr. Mime.
This mission is advantageous to the European community since they have the honor of encountering Mr. Mime almost on a daily basis and for some reason, he always offers them candies, which they didn’t even think of sharing with the others.
So for those of you who are in other parts of the Earth, to collect those candies, the best way would be by using a Rare Candy or becoming buddy buddy with Mr. Mime. And when I say buddy buddy that means best friend level, almost siblings.
Salandit and Salazzle
Many of you practically gave up on the game trying to get Salandit and Salazzle.
In Salandit’s case, all you have to do, your only option actually, is to grab your shoes and go on a nice 12km walk to hatch his egg.
How do you get his egg, you ask? You have to obliterate and completely massacre a Team Go Rocket Leader. To achieve that you have to collect lots and lots of Mysterious Components. So a kind piece of advice, start the quest now, it’s gonna take a super long amount of time.
Oh, and also, gather all 12km eggs you can put your hands on. They will come in handy since Salandit is a member of the Tier Three, which is the scarcer tier in terms of egg pool just like Absol Deino, Skorupi, and Skrelp.
If you think of using some kind of ritual to boost your luck, I recommend you save your magic for what’s coming.
Keep in mind that just the female Salandits have the ability to turn into Salazzle by using 50 Salandit candy, on her. However, a male SAlandit is not completely useless since he will get you some Salandit candy at least.
Sandile, Krokorok and Krookodile
By now, we at least lost 5kg with all the walking we were forced to do! Sandile, just like our friend Salandit, is a 12km egg that we have to hatch and sweat for.
However, this time at least, both genders have the ability to evolve. But here is the catch, they can evolve only if you accumulate 125 candies. It’s to spend some nice chunk of rare candy or become anorexic…
Nowadays, Sandile’s hatching difficulty slightly decreased since they switched to the 2nd 12km egg pool tier along with Pancham.
Tirtouga and Carracosta
Tirtouga was one of the late comers and only appeared in the game in January 2020. In the beginning, you could’ve gotten him quite easily compared to the others since he was one of the Pokemons that could be hatched through the 7km and 10km eggs, however, things changed and now, he can only be found in the wild.
So obviously, the main problem here is that he spawns once every decade. Okay, no, I’m exaggerating, but he has a super scarce spawn rate, and when I say rare, I mean rare, even compared to the other rare ones.
If your Pokemon radar ever spots him, don’t miss your chance. Abandon everything you are doing and go after him, I don’t even care if you are still in the shower, just run, because you most probably won’t ever encounter him again. It will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
When you catch the extremely rare Tirtouga, he will give you 50 candies—those candies have to be used to evolve him into Carracosta. If you don’t want to waste those Rare Candy you have the option to make him your buddy.
And once again, let’s get ready for a good sweat, some additional walking is required. I’m never doing cardio in my life after all that I swear!
Archen and Archeops
Archen is very much like Tirtouga. He only appears in the wild and his spawn rate, unfortunately, is just as rare. So, of course, if he ever pops on your radar, don’t think twice, and run after him. And don’t miss your shot!
One of my friends, who was on Pokemon GO at like 4 AM (he was just that bored) happened to spot one. He just wore anything he could find and went looking for him. There was no light, there wasn’t a single soul around, and he, like, started dancing like a deranged person all alone, celebrating his catch. Imbecile…
Now to get your Archeops you have to evolve your Archen by spending 50 Archen candy. Also, if you don’t want to use your Rare Candies, try and befriend your Pokemon instead.
Jangmo-o, Hakamo-o and Kommo-o
Jangmo-o is one of the latest additions to the Pokemon GO list of Pokemons, he comes from the 7th generation, is a Dragon-type Pokemon, and an extremely rare one at that.
If you are one of the luckiest persons in the world, you might spot him in the wild, however, his spawn rate is the rarest of the rarest.
When you go for the catch, don’t forget to use a bunch of Pinap Berries, that way you can double the number of candies you get.
If not in the wild, you can also acquire him through 10km eggs, but you’ll need more than just luck for that to happen.
When you put your hands on a Jangmo-o, you are going to have to pay the exorbitant sum of 125 candy in order to evolve him into Kommo-o.
Axew, Fraxure, and Haxorus
Axew, like his brethren Jangmo-o, can be found in the wild but with a super-duper rare spawn rate or he can also be hatched if you find the right 10km egg to work on.
I feel like I’m repeating myself a lot, but if you manage to find him in the wild don’t miss using Pinap Berries, or, if you possess an extra one, which I doubt, you can also use a silver variant so the number of reward candy increases.
You’ll need as much as 125 Axew candy in order to evolve him into Haxorus. And try to keep some spare candies aside so you can have the option to give him a power boost or release its second Charged move.
In the 10km eggs division, Axew can be found in the 3rd tier right next to Noibat, Riolu, and Goomy.
If you are desperate enough, the last option I can propose is to buy a 2022 Go Fest ticket. Rumor says that he will be making an appearance in raids that have one star on both days as well as on Saturday the 4th of June and also, in the wild, he will be spotted more often during the hour of Plains habitat.
Oh shoot, time really flies by, make that the 2023 ticket in that case.
Noibat and Noivern
We said it before, Noibat can be hatched through a 10km egg and he is currently in the third tier with Riolu, Goomy, and Axew. He can also be found in the wild but has an extremely rare spawn rate.
However, putting your hand on the Pokemon is the easy part of the process. The real challenge is to evolve him. You are going to have to gather 400 Noibat candy if you want to turn him into Noivern. That will be your own Mission Impossible.
I can guess that you are reluctant to spend that much so you are just gonna have to keep him and make him your buddy for a VERY VERY VERY long amount of time.
Goomy, Sliggoo and Goodra
I guess you got the gist of it, all the previous and upcoming Pokemon that can be found in the wild are going to be Pokemons with extremely rare spawn rate.
This Pokemon is also one that you can hatch thanks to the help of a 10km egg, and he is also one of the Pokemon who is in the third tier with his friends Noibat, Riolu, and Goomy.
At least, compared to Noibat, he is a cheap one to evolve since you only need 125 Goomy candies, who I am kidding, that’s a lot of candies. Ah yes, you’ll also need a Rainy Lure Module.
Why the extra hassle? Well, that’s because right now, you only have the option to evolve Sliggoo and turn him into Goodra only when you are beside a PokéStop that is carrying a Rainy Lure Module.
You can get a Rainy Lure Module by buying the in-game 180 PokéCoins. If that’s not an option for you, know that it can be a reward in a research quest or just take advantage of the other players who busted their butts, I guess for you, and discover a PokéStop where a trainer used a Rainy Lure Module before.
Deino, Zweilous and Hydreigon
He may not look like it at first glance, but I swear to you, Deino is in fact a rare dragon-type Pokémon. A rare into the wild spawn you can also hatch him after walking 12km with your needy egg. Along with Absol, Skorupi, Skrelp, and Salandit, he currently resides in the 3rd tier of the 12km egg pool.
During the Go Fest 2021, we got to see a lot of our scarce dragons in the wild. I know a lot of you might have missed the event and Deino slipped from your hand.
Don’t despair just yet, if things go as planned, he’ll make a grand comeback when Community Day arrives.
Once Deino is finally in your possession, you will need 125 Deino candy in order to evolve him into Hydreigon. But don’t forget that, that Pokemon is extremely powerful, so I do recommend you gather a little bit more than that amount. It never hurts to have some extra candies.
The last option, make him your buddy if you want. It will also increase your chances of powering him up or revealing his second-charged move.
Meltan and Melmetal
Every single one of you has the ability to get a Meltan by completing the Meltan special research quest known as Let’s Go. The difficulty will be to evolve him. It will be much easier if you have a Pokémon Home, Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu, or Let’s Go Eevee.
Why? Simply because to stimulate this Pokemons spawn, you have to first rip open the famous Mystery Box. To do so, you have to transfer a minimum of 1 Pokémon from Pokémon Go into one of these 3 games.
When that part of the prerequisite is done, the Mystery Box that is now open will stay that way for 1h. For one long nice hour, the spawn rate of Meltan will become 1 Meltan per minute. When time is up, you’ll only be able to use the box three days later.
To trigger his evolution you are going to have to accumulate 400 candy and he will then turn something called a Melmetal. In short, even if you use Pinap Berries to increase the number of candies you get, you will still have to use the Mystery Box a bunch of times.
And of course, you still have the option to make him your friend for life and maybe after some years, he’ll evolve.
Yamask, Cofagrigus, Galarian Yamask and Runerigus
I know you are surprised to see Tamask on this list of rare Pokemon, but he got the spot for one good reason, he can only appropriate him when the Halloween event begins. So if you prefer to go trick or treating, you can kiss him goodbye for now.
We are now during the Halloween event period, Tamask is the target, and you have more than just one way to get him. You can find him in the wild or participate in event-exclusive field research tasks.
In Galarian Yamask’s case, things get a little more complicated. You will have better luck finding him during raids than anywhere else. He can be the prize from special research quests or field research.
And that’s not all, during that period, he becomes one of the Pokemons that you can hatch from a 7km egg.
Yamask and Galarian Yamask are the base forms, and both of them evolve into their unique overpowered selves. Yamask will turn into Cofagrigus and Galarian Yamash will turn into Runereigus. Oh, and you only need 50 candy to evolve both of them.
Spiritomb
As time passed, Spiritomb became easier and easier to acquire. However, just like Yamash and Galarian Yamash, you can only catch him when the Halloween events are going on.
When he first appeared in Pokemon Go, the only way to add him to your Pokedex was to clear a special research quest that was called A Spooky Message in the year 2018 and the year 2019. In 2020 the event changed a bit and the name was updated as well to A Spooky Message Unmasked.
Finally, when 2021 came Spiritomb was included in the list of Pokemon that you can get through the Halloween event-exclusive field research tasks.
October will be here in no time, so sit tight and wait for your chance, just don’t forget to show up when the time comes or it will be another 1-year wait.
Alolan and Galarian Pokémon
I present to you two alternative variants of Pokemons: Alolan and Galarian. And when I say alternated, I mean through design, and also tying for Pokémons that come from the older generations.
A lot of Galarian were said to turn into Pokémon you haven’t seen before when they evolve, quick example, Galarian Farfetch’d would often turn into Sirfetch’d, a Pokemon that usually needs a specific condition to be accomplished in order to get.
The best way to get them is to hatch all the 7km eggs you got from outside the in-game events. You can also find them during raids and in the wild quite frequently.
Also, don’t just randomly evolve all your catches, choose carefully. My advice would be to pick Galarian Meowth or Galarian Yamask, the result won’t disappoint one bit.
Regionally Exclusive Pokémon
I know, I took my sweet time to open the topic of Regional Pokemons again, but what can I say, we had lots of different rare Pokemons in that game.
So when we are talking about Regional Pokemon, rare comes without saying since you’ll have to actually get on a plane and fly to another part of the world to try and find them.
In the European regions, the trainers have an abundance of Mr. Mime and would kill to put their hands on a Corsola or Tauros.
On the other hand, in America, the players would die to get a sinister from the 1st generation Pokémon along with his microscopic kid, Mime Jr.
Every part of the world has at least one Pokemon that can only be found or hatched within their borders.
The interesting thing is that not all Regional Pokemons stay at the same place. Even they have the right to visit new countries once in a while. For example, Solrock and Lunatone are two Pokemons who go on vacation most of the time thanks to specific events.
They will stay in their new home for as long as the next event starts, so normally after one year. So if you are one of God’s favorites, maybe your home will be those Pokemons’ next destination.
You can also find some of those Pokemon during Go Fest in places where they should’ve actually been, however, to participate, you’ll have to pay the entrance ticket.
Shiny Pokémon
As their title indicates, Shiny Pokémon are beats that are designed with alternate coloring. It’s a special form, different from their traditional appearance.
Not all the Pokemons have their shiny counterparts so it goes without saying that they are some of the most difficult Pokemon to find.
To lay your eyes on them, you can only pray, or ask your lucky star for some help. May luck be with you, my friends.
Those odds I’m talking about do increase from time to time, especially during occasions such as Community Days. Also, if you catch lots of Pokemons that have similar types, that will help as well.
Even in the Shiny Pokemon category, there are some that are scarcer than others. Here is a small list of the rarest Shiny Pokemons in Pokemon Go:
- Shiny Flower Crown Happiny
- Shiny Flower Crown Chansey
- Shiny Meloetta Hat Galarian Ponyta
- Shiny Meloetta Hat Galarian Zigzagoon
- Shiny Old Balloon Pikachu
- Shiny Pikachu Libre
- Shiny Costume Gengar
- Shiny Galarian Weezing
- Shiny Party Hat Raticate
- Shiny Party Hat Wurmple
- Shiny Party Hat Wobbuffet
- Shiny Sunglasses Squirtle
- Shiny Shadow Skorupi
- Shiny Shadow Snubbull
- Shiny Shadow Swinub
- Shiny Shadow Poochyena
- Shiny Party Hat Nidorino
- Shiny Woobat
- Shiny Costume Gengar
- Shiny Meloetta Hat Galarian Ponyta
- Shiny Krabby
- Shiny Abra
- Shiny Detective/Ash’s Hat-Wearing Pikachu
- Shiny Witch/Party/Santa Hat-Wearing Pichu
- Shiny Lunatone
- Shiny Unown
- Shiny Clefairy
- Shiny Zubat
- Shiny Alolan Marowak
- Shiny Alolan Vulpix
- Shiny Nidorina/Nidoqueen
- Shiny Alolan Grimer
Costume Pokémon
During some events, the Pokemons disguise themselves based on the theme, their name became the Costume Pokémons. Every year during Christmas, Halloween, Easter, and other occasions, our Pokemons changes.
Some of the costumes can be considered nice while others, sorry to say that but are just hilarious. But even if it’s not aesthetically perfectly beautiful, it still makes them super rare catches to be proud of.
Not all the Costume Pokemons have the same rarity stems. It all depends on the circumstances of their creation.
Some are linked to seasonal events and come back cuter than ever every year, especially those with flower crowns, while other Pokemons like for example the Clone Pokémon or Star Hat Pikachu were only seen once.
Others can only be obtained if you purchase a ticket for an in-game event like for example Go Fest or Go Tour: Kanto.
That also means that if you failed to attend this event, didn’t want to hurt your wallet, or just weren’t a player then, your only solution to add them into your Pokedex is to trade. However, I wouldn’t really count that as a solution, I doubt anyone would be crazy enough to let go of this rare gem.
The methods you’ll have to use to catch them are also different depending on the rules the special event set.
However, a lot of them were spotted in the wild, appeared during raids, and were even hatched through 7km to 12km eggs. They can also be the prize for clearing research quests or Collection Challenges.
The only exception to the above would be Pikachu Libre, a Pokemon that you obtain only if you rank 24th in the Go Battle League.
If you have no experience whatsoever with Pokémon Go’s PVP side, then putting your hands on a Pikachu can become quite the hassle.
However, anything can be learned and there are lots of guides that will help you pick your Pokemons for the Great League, Ultra League, and Master League.
The last tip on that matter, if you are up to the challenge, begin your journey when the new season is about to start, that way you can fully use the whole 3 months to get to Rank 24.
Here is a list of the strongest Pokemons you can use in PVP battles. However, don’t forget that you need to balance your team, strength is not everything.
- Alolan Ninetales
- Scrafty Can
- Trevenant
- Azumarill
- Skarmory
- Galarian Stunfisk
- Venusaur
- Jellicent
- Umbreon
- Bastiodon
- Sirfetch’d
- Registeel
- Tropius
- Hypno
- Altaria
- Sableye
- Swampert
- Galvantula
To make things even more difficult, the developer decided to combine two rare categories together and made one Regional Costume Pokemon. Okinawan Kariyushi Shirt Pikachu. That Pokemon is currently found in Okinawa – Japan.
Legendary Pokémon
Here, the spawn rate isn’t the problem. The real problem is that Legendary Pokemons are most often seen during five-star raids. Just considering their rarity stems and how incredibly difficult they are to beat, they became, I think, the most difficult Pokemons to get.
Almost impossible to obtain on the first try during raids, God only knows how much time you are going to have to wait to try again.
Of course, there is no way that newbies might have a Legendary Pokemon in their Pokedex and for the veteran who doesn’t have one yet, I suggest you start moving your butts and have a go in five-star raids.
Finally, after you get what you want, become a member of a region you can start using Remote Raid Passes or be a part of a Pokémon Go group and other applications like for example Poke Genie for more efficiency.
NEVER FORGET what I’m about to say when you are on your way to go catch a Legendary Pokemon. ALWAYS use Golden Razz or Silver Pinap Berries to maximize your odds of making him yours.
It is also recommended to be patient, leave your excitement aside and observe your prey carefully. Get a good feel of his movement patterns and tendencies. Analyze him as much as possible, and choose the best timing to release your Pokéball at him.
Hopefully, the next step would be to go admire him in your Pokedex with a stupid smile on your face.
Other than on raids, Legendary Pokemons can also be obtained as prizes from Research Breakthroughs. However, it is true that it’s been a really really long time since that happened. Starting to believe that it was a rumor that turned into a legend.
In the case of Shadow variants, if you ever manage to crush Giovanni, you might find one hiding comfortably in his shadow.
When you arrive at Rank 20, Legendary Pokemon will start being hardened out as prizes for your achievements.
However, for that to ever happen, just getting a sufficient rank is not enough, you also have to win lots and lots of matches during a set in order to unlock the desired Pokémon reward. And don’t miss to obtain a Pikachu Libre as well.
When all of those specifications are met, all the Pokémon rewards you get might highly turn into the present-day five-star raid boss.
Azelf, Mesprit and Uxie are the only three Legendaries that can be found in the wild but obviously have a very very very very very…. rare spawn rate.
During in-game events, others of their kind were added to the lot temporarily. The last time it happened the legendary dogs were picked when Go Tour: Johto began.
Mythical Pokémon
We got into the debate once before in another blog and concluded that Mythical Pokemons have nothing to do with Legendaries, they have a class of their own, thus, a spotlight for themselves as well.
When we talk about Mythical Pokémon, we are talking about Pokemons like Mew, Celebi, and Meloetta. For those three Pokemons, the one and the one solution to make them yours is to clear their special research questlines.
Each questlines has a different level of difficulty, however, the time it will take you to clear it will come down to your own innate talent and how dedicated of a player you are.
It won’t be a walk in the park, however, the reward will be worth it since you’ll get your Mythical Pokemon without a doubt and he will become a Pokemon that is impossible to trade.
However, unfortunately, that also means that every single account can sustain just one Mythical Pokémon of each type.
That is true except if you manage by some miracle to obtain an access pass for a Shiny Mythical Pokémon quest.
Up until today, just two of those said quests were organized in the game, All-in-One #151 and Distracted by Something Shiny.
We were all super happy to realize that both those events didn’t have a deadline, however, I think it was an evil joke from the developer since the quests ended after a very short amount of time. Also, you could’ve only participated in All-in-One #151 if you had bought a Go Tour: Kanto ticket
Conclusion of the story, all the greatest events are already up for all the late joiners.
While some of them might never appear again, other Mythical Pokemons can still be acquired during certain periods of time and by clearing their unique quest. Here is a list of those Mythical Pokemons:
- Mew – A Mythical Discovery (Requires Trainer Level 15)
- Celebi – A Ripple in Time (Unlocked when arriving at Step 4 of A Mythical Discovery)
- Jirachi – A Thousand-Year Slumber (Unlocked when arriving at Step 7 of A Ripple in Time)
- Victini – Investigate a Mysterious Energy (Unlocked when arriving at Step 6 of A Thousand-Year Slumber)
- Meloetta – Finding Your Voice (Unlock method unknown)
If you found the above complicated, wait to learn how to get the two upcoming Mythical Pokemons. That’s what I would call difficult.
Zarude
Zarude is a Pokemon with two types. He is a Dark-type Mythical Pokemon and a grass-type Mythical Pokémon who comes from the 7th generation. The only way to obtain him is to clear his special research quest called Search for Zarude!
This one also didn’t have a time limit. However, it only lasted 10 days and it started during the Secrets of the Jungle Event that was organized in 2021.
Like all other Mythical Pokemon of the game, he cannot be traded, thus, if he is not yet in your Pokedex, you will be forced to wait for the next event to begin.
Hoopa
Hoopa’s story is very much like Zarude’s. You have to clear a special quest that can only be attained for a specific period.
The quest is called Misunderstood Mischief and trainers could only release it on September 1st, 2021, and December 1st, 2021.
I know that we are in 2022 now and the quests are long gone, so, sorry to tell you that, but you are going to have to stay steady some months to get him since he as well can’t be traded.
Pokemon Go Season 2022
Now in the year 2022, a new Pokemon Go season just debuted. It started off with an event called Adventure Week which introduced into the game Amaura and Tyrunt, as well as their evolutions.
The Go Fest 2022 might be over now, however, you still have the option to work on 3 very unique research quests, Pokémon Go Fest 2022, Rhi’s Arrival, and A Radiant World.
In the meantime, the Great League and Great L
eague and Great League Remix just entered the Go Battle League Season 11. And, I have good news for you, the developers lowered the requirement level for Candy XL and even added the first Ultra Beast Pokemon, Nihilego.
How to maximize the odds of obtaining a rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go?
- That goes without saying that one of the best ways is to increase your level as a trainer. The higher it is, the more variable the Pokemons you will come across will be. When you hit the Level 30 player the odds of finding a scarce Pokémon will be quite high compared to a Level 10 or lower.
To increase your level, all you have to do is catch as many Pokemons as possible, clear research quests. Also, don’t forget to use Lucky Eggs in order to multiply twofold the quantity of XP you will get.
- Don’t be stingy and utilize Incense and Lure Modules. Those are very important items that lure Pokemons to your position. And if your lucky star is with you, maybe one of them will be the rare treasure that you have been waiting for.
For rural trainers, since Pokemons might not be appearing naturally where you are, I recommend the use of Incense.
As for the Lures, use them on a PokéStop. I know you don’t like it when other people use your stuff, but sharing is caring and you will be benefiting as well.
- Other trainers might have your missing Pokemon, so why not trade with them? That option has been available since 2018, so make use of it. Just try not to get cheated in a bargain.
Even though Mythical ones cannot be traded, all the others can, even the Legendary ones. This is the most efficient way to get Regional Pokemons.
- I know walking is boring, but when you have a goal it might become bearable and will get your daily exercise dose at the same time so go and hatch lots of eggs.
This is the best and most efficient and effective way to get your hands on exclusive and rare Pokemons.
They can also get you some of the Pokemons that don’t usually spawn in your area. You can ignore the 2km and 5km eggs. For the 7km eggs take a look at the eggs pool before starting walking. And finally, give priority to the 12km and 10km eggs, the rare ones are growing in them.
- Always participate in in-game events. This is where you can obtain your missing Pokemons, those with a super rare spawn rate, or those that aren’t available in your area. Not only rare Pokemon can be found but also Costume Pokemons or special research quests that will only be one for a determined amount of time.
- Learn of the Pokemons preferences, each Pokemon has a weakness for a certain habitat.
Depending on where you live or where you go, a predetermined type of Pokemon will be there. If you are after a Water-type Pokemon, make sure to go somewhere where there is a lot of water for example.
As for Steel-type Pokemon, go for urban areas, they are modern sophisticated beasts that like the fresh air of the city.
- In order to participate in five-star raids, you will have to use Remote Raid Passes. That is your best option to put your hands on Legendary Pokemons.
Combine the Passes with the use of applications like for example Poke Genie, you will maximize your chances of participating in raids where a Legendary Pokemon will be present.
To buy a Remote Raid Pass you will have to pay a 100 PokéCoin, in short, it will be much easier to use real money for this. Otherwise, subscribe your Pokemon to the nearest Gym.
- There are probably Pokemon nests somewhere in your area, go look for those. They are a group of beasts that came be the usual ones or the rare ones. And they will always appear at the same spot.
The catch is that the rare ones will probably just pop up once, so spend all your Pokeballs on them while you have the chance.
Normally, it shouldn’t be too difficult to locate it, however if you don’t have the patience to search you can always get help from The Silph Road subreddit, which made a Global Nest Atlas for us.
- You know about Catch Bonus medals, right? Try to win as many as possible. You have 18 different Catch Bonus medals and each of them is linked to a certain type of Pokemon. Every time you catch a Pokemon of that specific type, the medal will level up.
The Hex Maniac page is the name of the Catch Bonus medal that is related to Ghost-type Pokémon.
When it gets into his Bronze or Silver form, it will grant you a gift for all the Ghost-type Pokémons you will add to your Pokedex, even the ones you already caught it before.
Thanks to them, even low-level Pokémon have a great use, they will help you maximize your odds of obtaining a rare Pokemon.
- We all got Special Research quests, well clear them! They will be the ones rewarding you with Mythical Pokémons.
- When you are completely lost and don’t know how to advance in the game anymore, just catch every Pokemon in sight.
I don’t care if it’s a low level, in the long run, even those who seem useless will come in handy.
Those common Pokemons that you don’t bother with, well they give you XP, they level up your Catch Bonus medal, and they can also give the candies you need for your evolutions. See, whoever said they were trash? They are great!
Thanks to them, you will slowly but surely advance in your Pokemon journey and they may be the key to finally completing your Pokédex.
Conclusion
I have just one last thing to add before concluding this blog. I wish you the best of luck hunting for the rarest of Pokemons! Finalize your Pokedex and come share your achievement with us when you do.
