A Pokemon and a trainer relationship can vary depending on what they think suits them best. It could be anything like Ash and Pikachu, Brock and Onix, Leon and Charizard, or Meowth and the entire Team Rocket. We all know that these types of relationships exist normally. But in the case of Ash’s mom and Mr. Mime, well… things could be a little bit different.

In the series, we have known Pokemons that resist staying inside the Pokeball., and things could get pretty wild if a Pokemon resists staying inside or being captured inside a pokeball. That’s why they are called wild Pokémon.
There’s no further backstory about the origin of Pikachu and Meowth, so we can not clearly tell if they are wild Pokémon or not. But one thing that’s obvious here is that they are both not used to staying inside their pokeballs…I mean, they also resist having a pokeball tho. This situation is somehow similar to Mr. Mime with Delia Ketchum.
Similar to Pikachu and Ash’s relationship, Delia Ketchum also has this kind of relationship with a Mr. Mime. They are seen most of the time in some kind of relationship between the head of the household and a house helper… this is kinda suspicious. What do you guys think?
We all know that Pokemon spend most of their time inside a pokeball… unless they’re wild. So simply, we can also assume that Mr. Mime has to spend most of his time inside a Pokeball and do things like what typical Pokemon does, rest. Well, not until we have seen him multiple times having a vacation with Delia in the Alola.
We all know that Delia Ketchum is not even a Pokémon trainer. Sooo, it’s not even her role to keep a Pokemon just for a pet or as a companion just to help her around the house. Okay, that’s maybe somehow reasonable, but how about the vacation? Pokemon should usually stay inside their pokeballs in times like this. I mean, they should be resting most of the time and not wasting energy on situations like this one.
If you have watched this episode and did not notice anything, well, you’re kinda too young for thinking that Mr. Mime really is sleeping with Ms. Ketchum. There were thoughts about people marrying Pokémon in the Japanese version of the story. Also, there’s a story being told in the Sinnoh Regions that Pokemon and humans were nearly indistinguishable. Imagine dating a Mewtwo just because you can not distinguish a Pokemon from a human. Tho Mewtwo is one of the most human-like Pokemon out there, it should still remain clear that a Pokemon is a Pokemon and a human is a human… and Mewtwo appears more like a standing two-footed cat than a human. We can say he’s like a short kid Majin Buu when in his Mega Evolution Y.
But cut that mewtwo out. The question here is: is there a possibility that Ms. Ketchum, Ash’s mom, and Mr. Mime could have a romantic relationship? Ethically speaking, it is not a common situation where a human marries a Pokemon—to put it simply, it is quite beyond our ethical standards for Pokemon trainers and regular humans being romantically involved with a Pokemon. Though there is a time where Pokemons get married to humans and things like this are just normal. But it is still quite awkward when they sleep together… can you guys imagine? Well, because in my case, I can not at least picture things out… or maybeee a little bit? But the main point here is that fans like me can’t even have at least an idea about what’s going on behind what we can see.
Is it illegal for humans to have a relationship with Pokémon?
There’s actually no law or rules mentioning that humans are not allowed to be romantically involved with Pokemons. They were actually doing it in the Sinnoh Regions and, in fact, they even put it into consideration given that there are Pokemon intelligent enough to cope with human life. Some of them can even do what regular humans do. Give that talking meowth as a perfect example.
Tho it is no longer a practice to have a romantic relationship with a Pokémon, it is still not illegal to be romantically involved with a Pokémon. But nowadays, people may prefer to pet Pokémon rather than to marry them. And in fact, most of the Pokemon are not even close to acting like humans. Well, it is common knowledge that we should marry a person or anyone that has the same vibes as us. I mean, who does not like people that have the same vibe as them?
So in the case of Ms. Ketchum and Mr. Mime, if things went well, then they should have nothing to worry about, given that they did not even break any rules. In fact, the creator of the universe is even a Pokemon’s means that the creator of humans is also a Pokemon. And there’s no religious teachings of Arceus that tells humans or pokemon to not have relationships with each other. And in fact, the sleep, we mean between Ash’s mom and Mr. Mime, is not something to worry about that may result in chaos in the universe, disrupting time, or punishment for humans… no, it will not happen given that there’s no teaching from Areus saying things like marrying a Pokemon is wrong. Sooo, that’s a relief for Delia.
Is Ash’s father Mr. Mime?
When you’re referring to Mimey, then the answer is no. Because Mimey is a pokemon that shows up in the series after escaping the circus that maltreated their existence. But there are theories saying that Mr. Mime is Ash’s Father. And…. their reasoning is somehow stronger. Decades have passed and we still have no idea who Ash’s father is, right? Well, it could be possible that it is, and the nearest answer we have is actually Mr. Mime.
Given that Delia has been too close to Mimey, this somehow reminds her of the past he had with Ash’s father… hmmmm I don’t think Ash’s father is a clown. We could actually say that his father is more like any other person who has special stuff.
When talking about special stuff, can you even imagine how Ash carried Pikachu—a 13-pound Pokémon, on his back all this time? He could be very strong. And we can claim that he somehow inherited it from any of his parents. Do you think it is from his father? How about Ash’s climbing abilities? Being a 10 years old and having the capacity to climb a cliff so high, and venture out at such a young age. When I was 10, I could not even do stuffs for my self, I let my mom do the most of my stuffs for me… and that makes me a spoiled child for her, just kidding HAHAHA!
What’s the status between Mr. Mime and Ash’s Mom?
Ms. Ketchum has spent most of her days living alone, with her pokemon by her side, everything seems to play very well. But, for Mr. Mime, we are still actually quite doubtful about it. There’s actually no clear status between the two of them. Other than that, they’re known to be seen in most of the frames together. In fact, there was a time when Mr. Mime put his hand on Ms. Ketchum’s thigh and she did not even seem to bother about it. ANDDDDD… Do you think it is what a typical bipedal Pokémon would do? This clearly has meaning, other than the fact that they could possibly be sleeping together. What do you think?
Final Notes
In the Pokemon World, whether it’s true or not, but the possibility of this to happen is quite low in some cases. In fact, there’s no other presentation just like this case. Maybe there’s more that we might have missed, but the thing we’re sure of is that Mr. Mime really has something special with Ms. Ketchum.
All we can say is that they have relationships more than friends. Hmmmm… or Ms. Ketchum settles for an unlabeled relationship? It’s actually bad for our health if things remain unlabeled.
