One Piece has been running for a long time now. There have been so many different villains introduced in this anime. These villains hold so many unique powers! Similarly, today, we’ve got a villain to introduce and clarify whether he’s a Celestial Dragon in One Piece or not!

Eiichiro Oda has always loved making One Piece’s characters belong to a certain group or organization. To no surprise, it has again provided us with a dangerous organization that serves as one of the main antagonists in the anime, yes, it’s none other than the World Nobles also known as the Celestial Dragons! Its members are exclusive and very few people are in this organization. So, today, we’re going to find out whether Doflamingo is a Celestial Dragon in One Piece or not! Is Doflamingo a Celestial Dragon?
Saint Donquixote and his father along with his relative belonged to the World Nobles. Mjosgard is a separate branch member of the Donquixote family yet he’s still considered a part of the Celestial Dragon! Homing along with his family was taken out from the group when Homing exposed his plan of resigning since he had a different point of view on the lower classes.
Celestial Dragon (World Noble)
The World Nobles first debuted in One Piece Manga Chapter 233. They can also be referred to as Celestial Dragons. They are the descendants of the Twenty Kings which are now known as the founders of the World Government! Their unfair actions and roles made them one of the main antagonists in the anime. The main antagonists include the Five Elders, Donquixote Doflamingo, and their families presented in Sabaody Archipelago Arc.

800 years before the current timeline, 20 noble families from various islands formed an alliance to fight the Great Kingdom. After the 20 Kingdom won, 19 out of 20 families had to relocate to the Land of Mary Genoise. It is the city built at the very top of the Red Line, also called “the center of the world”. One royal or noble family known as the Arabasta Kingdom decided to stay in their homeland.
As time passed, royals in Mary Geiose started making more and more alliances with different nations across the Four Blue Seas and the Grand Line. That’s how they became the World Government!
The World Nobles are known as the descendants of those 19 families. They are known to have the highest authority within the organization and they have the freedom to do whatever they want! They can even summon the Marine Admiral to deal with their opponents! There are also some identification chips on the Celestial Dragons, these chips help them to identify their statuses as shown in One Piece Manga Chapter 763.
The World Nobles straightforwardly abuse their powers and look down on oppressed people. They call them “the commoners”. Even kings and queens are nothing in their eyes. Everyone is expected to bow to the World Nobles or else their whole kingdom will face destruction! Now, let’s talk about what it takes to become a Celestial Dragon!

How To Become A World Noble or Celestial Dragon in One Piece?
The World Nobles or the Celestial Dragons claim that to become one, you need to have a descendant from a noble background. Thus, it was decided that people with noble descendants in their background will enjoy these divine privileges!
Just like that, they think very highly about themselves and refuse to breathe in the same air as commoners. They’re just living inside a bubble that makes them feel like their air is clean. For these dragons,the blood of the creators of this world is one enough condition to prove their actions. When something is against their personal interests, they can change the law. That’s the level of hypocrisy in their area. The World Nobles or Celestial Dragons can’t be punished for their own crimes or actions as they have no regrets or remorse!
If someone out of the World Nobles wants to live as a commoner, they will consider them a traitor and will permanently take their privileges from them.
These people don’t respect the freedom of others like how Saint Charlos decided to wed Marie, a young nurse who’s engaged to a man who will soon be shot for having to protest against the Celestial Dragon’s verdict. However, in One Piece Manga Chapter 499, the young nurse, Marie was shown to be the fiance of Judy. But Saint Charlos was enslaving her.
We can see Celestial Dragons’ arrogance through the way they treat the commoners and their slaves. We often see them using their slaves as their mounts. For instance, after Sharlia murdered Devil Dias, she asked her father to buy a new slave for her as if the first slave meant nothing more than a toy that got broken.
Our brave boys, Fisher Tiger and Monkey D. Luffy attacks Celestial Dragons without having to think about the consequences. In short, this organization isn’t very popular among the escaped slaves. If they were to spread about this organization, they would get killed immediately. So, it’s quite dangerous as well!
After knowing about the World Nobles, you can see that it is a very secretive group. There’s no way of entering this group. You have to be born in it! So, the only way that you can join the World Noble or Celestial Dragon is by being born in it!
Conclusion
Doflamingo is nicknamed as Heavenly Yaksha and is quite a powerful villain in One Piece. He played a major role in the Summit War of Marinefold and clearly took Maines’ side. Because of his wickedness, he’s the favorite villain of everyone around the world!
