Does Shanks Know Where the One Piece Is Hidden?

One Piece, the never-ending anime is coming to an end and it’s exciting! Not only that, but we are that much closer to uncovering the biggest mystery of the series, The One Piece! 

What is it? Where is it? Oh, wait, actually we know… That’s a stupid question isn’t it, it’s on the last Island, Laugh Tale, obviously. 

But what if it’s not actually there…I mean you know how pirates are, they love to play games, and making up riddles is in their blood.

Well, to know for sure, all we have to do is ask someone that was with the Pirate King when he hid the One Piece, easy.

Mmm, who can that be? Silvers Rayleigh? I doubt we’ll be able to get any information out of this old man. The rest of Rogers’ crew? God knows where they are now.

What about Shanks though? I mean, he was part of the crew. He was supposed to accompany them on Laugh Tale if Buggy didn’t get sick before the last voyage. Wouldn’t it be logical that he might know where his captain hid the treasure?

Might be yes, might be no. How can we be 100% sure though? We wouldn’t want to go and interrogate a Yonko without proof, our lives aren’t that cheap.

I’ll give your proof, but before that, let’s travel to the past, a small flashback. To make sure everything will make sense. We will have to refresh your memories.

SHANKS COULD KNOW WHERE THE ONE PIECE IS

Background

Do you recall how Shanks became a member of the Roger Pirates? THE heartwarming story?

39 years ago, in a small wine-producing town, the Roger Pirates found a treasure chest. However, inside, instead of gold or diamonds, they found a baby. They had no idea how he got here, nor do we actually, but they couldn’t leave a kid to die like that, so they adopted him (One Piece Manga: Volume 4000000000 “RED”, Information about Shanks’ background is given)

The crew was his family, but at some point, his captain was diagnosed with an incurable disease. His life was coming to an end. Since he couldn’t do anything about it he at least wanted to make sure to go out in a flash. And this is when the final voyage began. To Laugh Tale we go!

The last stop before getting to the final Island was Zou. But, the annoying little clown just had to start flirting with death before departure. Forced to stay behind to look after him, Shanks missed the best of the trip, sad… (personally I think I would’ve let him die alone) (One Piece Manga and Anime — Vol. 96 Chapter 967 and Episodes 967–968).

When the crew came back to retrieve the boys, Shanks asked his captain something, something we couldn’t hear. We don’t even know if his captain answered but what’s for sure is that Shanks ended up in tears afterward.

Hundred percent sure it was about the One Piece, what else could a boy be curious about after they came back from a great adventure.

When the crew disbanded, Shanks began his solo pirate career. The easiest way to climb up the ranks and make a name for himself plus get a bounty he could be proud of was to claim the title of Pirate King, however, he never showed any interest in going after the One Piece?

Why do you think that is? Because he knew it was a waste of time maybe? It looked more like he was searching for candidates to take on this role. I mean, even Buggy didn’t try his luck, but that’s most probably because there was no money for him at the end of it. Greedy bastard.

Shanks first was rooting for Ace and then after meeting Luffy, his interest turned to him. Shanks knows something, he is scheming something. The truth about Joy Boy, about the Gomu Gomu no Mi. There is something he is not telling us…

Of course, that still doesn’t answer the question we’ve been asking ourselves. But wait, don’t you guys hear somethin? OMG, isn’t it the Pirate King? I think he is telling you to hit that subscribe button right about now. Can’t disobey his orders now, can we?

The Truth Behind the One Piece

Some people may have missed that tiny fact, but the One Piece is Joy Boy’s treasure, not Rogers, and he is the one who hid it. So, technically the only way to know where it is and what it is, is to get there and see for yourself.

Roger told the world that it existed but why did he leave it there? Well, that’s simply because he wasn’t the one meant to fulfill the prophecy. 

But who might that person be? If you don’t want the answer just yet, stop reading here, and like, skip some parts of the blog cuz it’s a major spoiler.

The chosen one, the guy that hid the treasure, Joy Boy himself. How? The guy’s dead right? Even in One Piece, people don’t come back to life, they are just supernaturally hard to kill. Even decapitation is not enough anymore.

Thing is, he is and he’s not at the same time. Gomu Gomu no Mi isn’t the fruit’s real name, it’s actually the Hito Hito No Mi, Model: Nika. The guy that eats it became the reincarnation of Nika, the sun god, in other words, Joy Boy.

I know it’s confusing, but all you need to know is when Luffy turns on Gear 5, he actually transforms into Joy Boy, making him the only one worthy of claiming his treasure (One Piece Manga: Chapter 1045)

So we know that only Luffy can go get that treasure, but is Shanks aware as well? To be honest, Yonko looks like he knows the truth of the universe so I bet he does. But please, don’t take my word for it, let the evidence speak for itself.

Shanks, a One Piece Buff

Now, look what a coincidence. Shank specifically targeted Who’s Who, the marine that was in charge of transporting the Gomu Gomu no Mi to safety, and then stole the fruit, and made an enemy while at it (One Piece Manga: Chapter 1018). He wanted to get his hands on this specific fruit.

He knew what it was, because what pirate in his right mind would risk his life to get the ability to turn into rubber. Before Luffy started using it, anybody would have said that it was just lame.

Now don’t tell me this was not all planned. The man knew exactly what he was doing. What a cunning devil he is.

However, the piece of info that convinced me that I didn’t spend hours proving a theory for nothing and wasting my time with an endless bladder was what the redhead told his crew mate: “It’s time to go and claim it…the One Piece”.

His words, not mine yeah. He has been waiting for the right moment this whole time. From the second Luffy ate the fruit, he knew how things would turn out.

He knows so much about One Piece and how to get it that it’s actually hard to believe he doesn’t know where it is.

And look at him claiming it was time for the final Arc to begin like it isn’t going to be the end of our life.

Not a hint of hesitation, no confusion. He knows where he is going to set sail next and I bet the Shanks VS Luffy battle is just around the corner.

Conclusion

Will Shanks turn out to be the final villain? Was he the one behind everything that is currently going on with Luffy? Was he a mastermind controlling the strings of the game from the shadows? To be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was. Everything looks so calculated that it’s almost creepy!

Of course, I’m not saying that I have to be correct, this is all speculation. But please, in the near future, when it turns out that I was, come back so I can tell you “I Told You So!”.
