It was announced on Monday, July 19, that writer Homura Kawamoto who previously wrote Kakegurui, and Zuzu Kamiya will launch a new manga named “Isekai no Hime to no koi Bakuchi ni, Jinrui no Sonbo ga Kakkatemasu (Humanity’s Existence Depends on Love Gambling With Another Worlds Princess).
The manga is going to be published in the next issue of Akita Shoten’s Champion Red Magazine on August 19.

Kakegurui Background
The story of Kakegurui opens in Hyakkaou Private Academy where very privileged students are allowed to study. The MC, Yumeko Jabami is a transfer student who’s secretly addicted to gambling but hides her addiction under the facade of innocence.
She’s psychotic about gambling. One by one, she completely destroys her opponents in gambling and threatens to change the twisted hierarchy of the school just because she loves messing with people. She can see-through her opponents intention and their weak cheating methods, completely crushing them in return. There’s no one who can surpass her!
Kakegurui Manga was originally written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura. It started publishing in Square Enix’s Gangan Joker in March 2014. As of February 2021, the chapters are collected into 14 tankobon volumes.
MAPPA released an anime adaptation that aired from July 2017 to September 2017. The second season for the anime was released from January 2019 to March 2019. The anime series has also been licensed by Netflix and also aired on it.
A live-action drama adaptation was released in Japan from January to March 2018. A second season for the live-action drama was released in April 2019. A live-action movie with the same actors as the drama was released in May 2019. A sequel to the live-action movie is set to be released in 2021.
