Sukuna Ryomen Wiki
Ryomen Sukuna mostly called “Sukuna” is an omnipotent cursed spirit who’s the authoritative King of Curses. He’s one of the main antagonists in Jujutsu Kaisen. Over 1,000 years ago, Sukuna was an imaginative demon and it was the golden age of Jujutsu.
As a human, he was an undefeatable sorcerer yet all other sorcerers did everything they could to defeat Sukuna. And after his death, he became a cursed spirit. His own curse was too strong to destroy him. Therefore, his 20 immortal fingers are preserved in the grave as cursed objects.

Appearance
He’s a demon with four arms and two faces. Currently, he resembles the host, Yuji Itadori. He has tattoos all around his body with spiked pink hair. There are unique marks on his nose, forehead, and cheeks. He’s got pair of eyes that are usually closed. (Chapter 1)
Sukuna also has two lines extending from his upper arms with curves on his chest. There are two black circles on both of his shoulders. He usually wears a plain Kimono with a black edge, a scarf, and black shoes.
Personality
When it comes to being bold, unstoppable, and cocky, Sukuna has to be on top of the list. He’s also depicted as selfish, cold-hearted, and people hater. When Yuji summons him for the first time by ingesting his finger, Sukuna tells about the women and kids he slaughtered who were just like maggots.
He rarely takes responsibility for his actions. Even though he’s living within Yuji, he often insults him and calls him a weakling. And whenever he wins, he makes sure to take the spotlight.
Since he’s a cursed spirit and has immense power, he often brutalizes it. Everyone thinks that Sukuna is an arrogant guy with a superiority complex or god complex. However, these traits simply just don’t define his intellect. Despite his brutality, he’s very manipulative and smart! Sukuna made sure that Yuji does a binding vow by tearing out his heart. One of his habits includes praising his opponents’ strength. For instance, before killing Jogo he praised him for being quite strong. (Chapter 114 – Chapter 116)
Strengths and Skills
Incarnation
One of his skills includes incarnation. He’s easily able to reincarnate from Yuji. He can take control over Yuji’s body. There’s a strong chance that whoever digests his fingers, will be able to incarnate into that person.
As we all know that Sukuna is a special grade cursed spirit. He was dead 1000 years ago. He possesses vast amounts of cursed energy. Sukuna’s presence was felt during Shibuya Arc once he was reincarnated. His cursed energy is similar to Gojo Satoru but the intensity of the cursed energy of Sukuna is much higher. It’s much more evil. Sukuna was easily able to defeat Jogo and Mahrago. (Chapter 118- Chapter 119)
Even Gojo Satoru considered fighting Sukuna a huge honor. And he appreciated Sukuna’s skills as well. He seriously wounded Mahito and easily scared him away by making him touch Yuji’s soul which led him into his domain.
Hand-to-Hand Combat and
Immense Strength
Being extremely skillful with immense strength in him, Sukuna is a powerful close-quarter fighter. He’s physically fit which leads him to fight very well in hand-to-hand combat. It is very difficult to fight with Sukuna hand-to-hand.
Yuji’s strength combined with Sukuna’s strength leads to immense strength. Both of them are quite strong. However, Yuji got more benefit from Sukuna. Even in an incomplete state of existence, he’s quite strong. Imagine him having complete existence just like a true person! He punched Megumi super hard. (Chapter 9) that the raindrops dispersed. With fifteen of his fingers, he destroyed Jogo and all the buildings surrounding him! His powerful blows had strong effects on Mahoraga.
Immense Speed and Reflexes
Despite having Immense Strength, he’s considered to have immense speed as well! He moves at an incredible speed which confuses his opponents. He was constantly able to defeat Jogo by confusing him. He moves very rapidly it can easily induce dizziness in his opponents. Sukuna even confronted Panda and Atsuya Kusakabe who are quite strong sorcerers.
One of the most amazing fighters in the series, Sukuna has immense reflexes he can easily predict the next move of his opponents. No matter whether they’re behind him or below him, he can easily blow them away by predicting their moves again and again. Before Mahoraga was going to heal himself, Sukuna easily destroyed him for good. (Chapter 118)
Durability and Intellect
Literally, everything about Sukuna is perfect. He’s an intense fighter and likes to take things to another level. Sukuna uses his cursed energy very smartly, he doesn’t use it just everywhere. He uses it where it’s actually needed. Since he’s very good at hand-to-hand combat he makes sure to destroy his opponents through it.
Metamorphosis
He can also create new eyes, nose, mouths on the body of his host. For example, to belittle Yuji, he created a fanged mouth and a single eye on his cheeks. Metamorphosis means “production of new organs”.

Cursed Energy Manipulation
Sukuna can manipulate the cursed energy however he wants due to his innate strength. Of course, Sukuna is known as “King of Curses” he’s able to manipulate curses without tiring himself out.
Since he uses Domain expansion and Reverse Curse Techniques, he has excellent control over his body. Gojo Satoru is able to use both of these curse energy manipulation techniques. Sukuna uses the Reverse Curse Technique to regenerate lost limbs and heal others. For instance, he let Mahito enter the Shrine through Domain Expansion and intimidated him. (Chapter 19 – Chapter 31)
Binding Vows
Sukuna has a binding vow with Yuji. During the Cursed Womb Arc, Yuji was on the verge of dying, yet he was revived by Sukuna for two of the following conditions.
- When the cursed spirit would chant “Enchain” Yuji would let Sukuna have control for a whole one minute.
- Yuji would forget about the agreement he made with Sukuna. He strongly opposed the Binding Vow and begged Sukuna to not kill anyone during that one minute. However, Sukuna managed to force him into a Binding Vow. (Chapter 6)
Innate Technique
Innate Technique is yet unknown but he was shown to use this technique to slash his opponents. In fact, he has fire abilities too. One of the default Sukuna’s slashing attacks includes Dismantle. It’s mostly used for inanimate objects. But, it can also be used against cursed spirits.
Cleave includes slashing of his opponents instantly depending upon their physical toughness. It takes huge cursed energy to perform this technique and is known to be very effective too.
Fire Manipulation is also one of Sukuna’s Techniques. He can manipulate fire however he likes. These were exceeded on Jogo who’s a special-grade curse.
Malevolent Shrine
Sukuna’s Domain Expansion creates a Buddhist shrine full of broken bones and skulls. He’s always sitting in that shrine on the top of those skills and bones. The Malevolent Shrine has a special trait, it forms a Binding Vow by allowing an escape route that increases the hit’s effective area with a radius of almost 200 meters. We get to see the Malevolent Shrine when Sukuna fought Mahito and let him enter through domain expansion. (Chapter 19 – Chapter 31)

Introduction Arc
Over a thousand years ago, Sukuna was killed by a group of sorcerers despite being super strong. His spirit turned into a cursed spirit. And his power was very strong to destroy his body. Therefore, his cursed fingers lie in Grave Wax.
At Sugisawa High School, his cursed finger was kept in a thermometer box. (Chapter 1) One of the school’s occult groups tried to remove the sealing of the cursed fingers. They failed to do so since it was quite rigid and has been there for 1000 years. However, after rubbing the seal so much, the curse within the finger activated and it destroyed the whole group. As Yuji and Megumi come to save the group, Yuji eats the finger to fight the cursed spirits.
The whole process of swallowing the finger, caused Sukuna to be reincarnated into Yuji’s body. It was very exciting for Yuji to have some strong cursed spirit living within him. Sukuna tries to fight everyone. Megumi starts to exorcise Sukuna’s cursed body by killing Yuji. After some time, Gojo shows up and asks Yuji about the control over his body which he gets after some time in about ten seconds.
The very next day Gojo shows up with another finger of Sukuna and tells him that there is a total of twenty such fingers that will make him stronger by swallowing. (Chapter 2) After munching on more and more of Sukuna’s fingers, Yuji gets stronger control over his body.
When Yuji is brought to the Tokyo College, Sukuna confronts Gojo and tells him how disappointed he is at Gojo for not killing Yuji right away. Meanwhile, Gojo thinks that it’s an honor to be the opponent of Sukuna All-Mighty. (Chapter 3)
Cursed Womb Arc
When there was an investigation going on at the detention center, Sukuna is given control over Yuji’s body to confront the special grade cursed spirit. Sukuna with his witty plans decides to take on Fushiguro instead of the special grade spirit. While the spirit is attacking side by side, Sukuna faces no problem and blocks the attacks easily.
After constant blocking, Sukuna finally decides to destroy the spirit by activating his territorial expansion which tears the spirit apart in two halves. Then he takes his cursed finger back from the spirit which allowed the spirit to be destroyed completely. In this way, he gets his finger back and then asks Yuji to come out. However, he’s happy to be out in the world. (Chapter 11)
Sukuna tries his best to take on the whole control over Yuji’s body. He takes out Yuji’s heart to make sure that he won’t come back and will eventually die. Then Sukuna tries to combat Megumi and easily defeats some of his Shikigamis. After cornering Megumi, Yuji regains control over his body. (Chapter 8)

Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc & Death Painting Arc
The fingers from the Tokyo College are collected by Mahito, Death painting, and 1-3 Wombs.
After being reincarnated once again, the finger at Yasohachi Bridge awakens and starts to kill people. It was retrieved by Megumi since he killed the spirit which had the finger. And it made Sukuna very happy to see Megumi get stronger & stronger day by day.
After Nobara and Yuji meet with Megumi, Yuji was handed over the finger, and just as he is handed over the finger it was eaten by Sukuna. How? his mouth appeared on Yuji’s palm. (Chapter 63)
A few days later, Sukuna taunts Yuji about how so many people are dying just because of him. And how eating one of his fingers is causing so much trouble. Yuji asks Sukuna to keep the collection of fingers a secret between them.
Shibuya Incident Arc
While Yuji was busy fighting Choso, Sukuna was observing him very deeply. And again taunts that how Yuji could have been defeated by such a weak opponent.
After Nanako, Jogo, and Mimiko feed some of the fingers to Yuji, Sukuna gets control over his body. The three of them kneel before Sukuna. Sukuna slightly cuts off Jogo’s head. Then Sukuna asks them that what exactly are they after? Jogo answers that they want nothing more than reviving the All-Might Sukuna. Jogo tells that Yuji cannot have control over his body. Sukuna then tries to make a deal between them which depends upon landing a hit on opponents.
Sukuna praises him for having such strength obviously after testing his full potential out. Just as Jogo attacks him, he’s easily able to come out of his attacks unscathed. It confuses Jogo quite a lot then Sukuna resultantly wins!
He arrives at Shikigami’s location facing off against Megumi. Sukuna observes the situation and thinks that how it was a good idea to save the sorcerer as Megumi could have also died with him. He saves Megumi and asks him to not die just yet since he has something that Megumi needs to do. He thinks that he can destroy the shikigami and clear the ritual. That’s when he prepares to face it. Mahoraga using his excellent sword attacks Sukuna which he manages to block. He wounds Mahoraga and finds out that his sword is able to exorcise the spirits since it has positive energy in it. Sukuna despite being one of the strongest characters in the series is sent off flying by Mahoraga when he was trying to block his attack!
Mahoraga tries to attack him again but this time, Sukuna manages to wound him properly. However, Mahoraga keeps on healing himself throughout the battle. Sukuna activates his domain Malevolent Shrine and uses it to cut up Mahoraga in certain pieces within a certain distance.
After the fight, Sukuna starts to leave while telling Megumi’s attacker to leave as well. Resultantly, Mahoraga dies. He makes sure that Megumi takes medical treatment. After coming back, he lets Yuji take control and asks him to take a look at what happened.
Relationships
Yuji Itadori
Sukuna is a strong cursed spirit living within Yuji Itadori as a parasite. Yuji Itadori wanted to get stronger therefore, he ate the fingers which allowed him to have the soul of a cursed spirit. Both of them first met during the fight between Megumi, and Yuji. Megumi was trying to kill Yuji since he was completely cursed by Sukuna. Gojo Sensei appears on the scene and makes sure that Yuji is able to convert into his original self again. Gojo
Satoru Gojo
Gojo is the teacher of Yuji, Megumi, Toge, Panda, and many more characters. He’s surprisingly powerful! In fact, nobody is able to touch him. He’s definitely one of the most daring characters in Jujutsu Kaisen! Despite knowing the horrific story behind Sukuna, he still tries to confront him and starts a fight to know more about it. I’m surely not belittling one of the strongest characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. It’s just the chemistry between two of the strongest characters is INTENSE!
