This podcast will suit the preferences of a very specific and peculiar species of people on the internet: the Redditors. Because it’s literally made by the people of the r/Anime subreddit in order to get more people into the culture.

They post very consistently as well, about 1-2 times a week. LGBT+ friendly as it’s a part of their conversations quite consistently, and also friendly-feeling, giving you a vibe that feels similar to hearing your homies having a chat. A lot of people have actually been converted into anime fans through this podcast, so if you want something to put on your friends, this is a good choice. It’s quiet, cozy and quite vast in its topics.

22. Featured Anime Podcast

This podcast is one for those looking for anime reviews. Every episode, Jack and Rich watch an anime and talk about that anime. It’s full of spoilers, but they express their opinions in a reasonable way and make an interesting discussion every time.

They cover a lot of different anime as well, making their reviews something to get into, whether you’re not sure if you want to get into a show or just want to find out new shows regularly.

21. Otaku Melancholy

The slogan of this podcast tells us that it’s a podcast from people who like anime a bit too much, and for people who like anime a bit too much. If you like wacky content, this one is exactly the one for you. It has all kinds of weird and random topics covered. It’s really entertaining for people who are into bizarre stuff and want to see it analyzed.

20. Shredded Cels

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total
17/20
2/10
19/30

The most unique thing about this podcast is that it’s old. If you want something underrated that many people don’t know about, and came out a long time ago, this is for you. There are 78 episodes; it ended in 2015. Their episodes are available on Youtube for those who still want to watch them, making them an easily accessible gateway to what podcasts were like a long time ago.

The fact that it’s not too long makes it a time-saver as well, though it’s good for exploring content from a different time period. Definitely an interesting experience.

19. Wasasum Anime Reviews

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total

2/10
19/30

This podcast is for those looking for something that’s more mature. It covers a lot of adult topics other than the usual anime-related content. It’s more dark, you may or may not want to stay away from it as it does have some sensitive content, For those looking for something grown-up though, this is it.

18. CP4L

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total

18/20

If you want a new, but good podcast to hop onto, this is the one! This podcast just hit its 1 year anniversary, so it’s still very fresh. It’s run by a group of bloggers from the Anime Amino community, though they upload on Youtube as well.

They love to write and give their thoughts on certain topics that surround anime, the Amino community in general, and of course, manga. If you want to be one of the people that will kickstart their fanbase, use this chance, as they’re really entertaining to listen to. Another thing to look forward to is their new series, CP4L Topics, which will involve a new question every video.

17. Otaku Spirit

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total

The amount of consistency this channel has is insane. Especially considering its small fanbase. Their channel has their weekly podcast, but not only that. They make several videos a day, including news, video games, streams, reviews etc. They’re one of the most hard-working groups of people out there, every single day you go on their channel there’s a satisfying amount of new content. Their variety and dedication will give you a lot of anime content to visit and stay for.

16. Baka! Baka! Baka! Anime Podcast

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total
19/20
1/10
20/30

Don’t let the name fool you! This podcast is named baka, which means stupid in Japanese, but the hosts are the complete opposite. Their fanbase is small yet dedicated. They talk about newer anime rather than old ones and they never fail to deliver with their quality reviews of the shows they cover. There is decent humor and a light mood too for the most part, though some of the anime they review can be pretty mature.

15. What Do You say, Anime?

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total
16/20
4/10
20/30

The best way to describe their content would be “chill”. They do anime, video games, news, reviews, basically everything. They don’t have a specific subject but it’s a very cozy podcast that you can listen to when you want the mood of chilling with your friends and hearing them talk about stuff they like, spill tea, try new things together etc. Definitely, an enjoyable watch for me personally and I recommend it to pretty much anyone.

14. My Favorite Anime

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total
18/20
3/10
21/30

This podcast is really nice. One of the main reasons for that is the awesome chemistry between hosts. They’re good at getting you interested in shows by the way they describe them, while still always being a pleasure to listen to and extremely entertaining. Also, a good variety of different content is covered each and every different episode which makes it even a better listen. While they’re criminally underrated, they’re not a show you want to miss out on.

13. Anime Out of Context

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total
18/20
3/10
21/30

This one is absolutely hilarious. Hear out this description and just try to convince me otherwise, it won’t work. A non-anime fan has his friend, an anime enthusiast, showing him different anime scenes out of context. It’s beautiful. Obviously the point of it is comedy, its concept is unique and its ability to make you laugh (and question anime studios) is impressive.

Absolutely something worth your time, if you want to see something light-hearted and bizarre. It has a special place in the hearts of the people who watched it.

12. Blake and Spencer Get Jumped!

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total

21/30

These guys are known for the quality of their recommendations. They typically cover new shows or even unreleased content. They help you explore what’s coming and next in an extremely entertaining way. Not only are they good at making content that’s good for anime fans, they’re also likeable by anime-curious people who want a better understanding and to dig deeper into anime.

11. Instant Ramen Anime Podcast

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total
19/20
2/10
21/30

The amount of banter in this podcast is unreal. And hilarious. It’s suitable for both newer and older anime fans, which really makes them easy to get into and very likeable. They put a lot of effort into their content as well, which makes them really respectable and genuine. They’re also named after Ramen, which by itself is a good reason to get into them because ramen is the best thing humanity ever made (since JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure).

10. Kame House Party

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total
18/20
3/10
21/30

This is yet another comedy podcast, this time related to Dragon Ball. The hosts watch one episode of Dragon Ball every week and laugh at it the entire time. Every episode, there’s a 1-min recap of the last episode which makes them worth looking forward to every time. If you like Dragon Ball and comedy, this is absolutely not something you wanna miss.

9. YGO Podcast

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total
18/20
3/10
21/30

This is a podcast every Yu-Gi-Oh! fan needs to listen to. If you like the game itself, or the anime. They talk about a variety of topics in the lane and answer a lot of different questions including the meta, personal preference, different playstyles and more in their discussions.

Episodes are up to half an hour long, so it isn’t very time consuming and they tend to be informative as well as entertaining. With the season recently having ended at 25 episodes, this is a podcast that will make you fall in love with the game even more than you were before.

8. Shonen Flop

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total
17/20
5/10
22/30

A very interesting, as well as popular one. The hosts review manga that got canceled and didn’t make it into serialization, then talk about how they could’ve avoided failing. Not bad manga, just the ones that didn’t make it for whatever reason. If you want to know more, check them out.

7. Geek Giant Podcast

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total
17/20
5/10
22/30

One of the things I like about Geek Giant Podcast is not only the host, but also the fact that they like digging into the anime they decide to talk about, instead of talking about them blindly. They talk about anime, manga, give good recommendations and actually have quite a good taste in the anime they’re into. They also give respect to OG shows like Fairy Tail or Bleach, and can appreciate the classics while acknowledging the newer good anime at the same time.

6. The Geekoning

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total
19/20
3/10
22/30

Yep, another Geek podcast. This show is absolutely a treasure. A treasure hidden in an island, far, far away that you stumbled across by chance and won’t regret. This podcast covers anime, games and different kinds of geek culture.

They get into really niche topics, which for geeks is…amazing. They even cover Kamen Rider, which is a bit of a biased argument, but that alone gives you an idea of how deep they are into the world of cool anime weeb stuff. The host Katya is extremely entertaining and fun to listen to, as well as a very positive and likable person who adds ray of sunshine onto the show. It’s by the geek for the geek!

5. Anime World Order

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total
18/20
7/10
25/30

The cool thing about this podcast is that they don’t just review only one whole anime, they actually review individual episodes of them. It makes them quite unique compared to others who review seasons at once. Definitely check it out if you’re into seasonal anime!

4. Anime Slushie

3. Anime Addicts Anonymous

9/10
27/30

Anime Addicts Anonymous have been at it since 2009, so one thing you’re absolutely guaranteed to have is a lot of content. They have switched hosts multiple times, yet they’re still at it posting consistently.

This podcast isn’t for people looking for objective or serious reviews, it’s for people who want to watch some absolutely amazing personalities talking about shows they love or hate. Its community is big as it’s been around for a long time too. Most people who watch podcasts for the subjective views on anime can agree that this is one of the best anime podcasts out there. Their consistency deserves a lot of respect.

2. Trash Taste Podcast

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total
20/20
10/10
30/30

Trash taste is definitely the biggest anime podcast out there. It’s run by 3 of the most massive anime YouTuber, Gigguk, Joey and CDawgVA. It’s the one with the most views by a complete landslide, making it the most popular one.

They obviously cover a lot of different topics, but with their popularity, quality and budget they really are the one you’ll come across the most, and for good reason.

1. Rant Cafe

Quality of Content Audience/Popularity Total
20/20
10/10
30/30

Rant Cafe is unbelievably enjoyable. The main reason is its hosts, of course. The good-anime-content-but-still-meme-god Nuxanor, the one and only man-myth-legend Briggs, and …was there someone else? Animac?

Yeah that’s the one we don’t talk about (it’s a tradition of the podcast). Their content involves a lot of memes and friendly banter, which makes it extremely enjoyable to listen to. Not only that, but they’re each very smart youtubers with very good taste and they really know what they’re talking about in terms of anime.

Their community is also the most dedicated one I can think of, as their community is large and engaging. Their guests can be popular or smaller youtubers, but they never fail to entertain. Definitely the most recommended one.
