Steins; Gate, an extremely popular anime these days. Who doesn’t love time-traveling? I mean, it makes the anime unique and more exciting. Some anime nowadays follow the story of SOMEONE time-traveling to the past or the future but…In Steins; Gate, our MC, Okabe Rintaro, has claimed himself to be a mad scientist.
With the help of his team, he made a microwave that was powered by a phone. The microwave can somehow turn a banana into green gel..? Weird! The other members of the lab were Okabe Rintaro’s childhood friend, Mayuri Shiina, and a hacker by the name of Daru.

Soooo, back to the discussion of microwave lmao, it’s just a normal microwave that runs by phone right? So you thought.
Who knew that a microwave can send messages or emails to the past and change the timeline! Woahhh, I would never have thought that a microwave can do such a thing!
This anime is confusing at the start and when I was watching it, I quit because it was a little too confusing but soon, I came back to it and after watching a few episodes, I managed to figure out what’s going on and the story of the anime. Sooo, if you are planning to watch the anime and if you get confused at the start, don’t quit cuz you will soon find out about what’s going on:)!

Filler List - What are filler lists?
Fillers are basically stories that are not included in the manga. You see, sometimes the anime runs too fast and catches up to the manga. So to prevent that, they add fillers so that they can get ahead a little. Fillers don’t follow the story and they are not gonna change the actual story of the anime. Filler Episodes
Steins; Gate Episode 25 (Egoistic Porimania)
Storyline:
Episode 25 of this anime, also known as Egoistic Poriomania, created on 2012-02-22, is the first filler episode on this list.
In this episode, Okabe Rintaro was invited to visit America by Faris. As the episode begins, he is in the middle of a desert, thinks that his time is over and later starts to wander around again. Then comes the epic 2 weeks earlier transition!
It is seen that he was sitting in his lab and suddenly Daru, the hacker comes in wearing a Luffy hat. At first, Okabe thought he was going on a safari ride but then finds out that they all are invited by Faris to watch her in the Rai-Net competition.
Later, they all are seen visiting Mr. Braun, Moeka, and Nae.
After they leave and get to Los Angeles, the workers there ask him about his purpose. He then in English says, I am a mad scientist. Then the register guy starts to laugh and so does he until…The police come in and arrest him lmao!
After he gets out, he meets his old experiment–loving assistant, Christina. She then went inside the car and sat in the driving seat. Okabe asks her if she is driving and she says yes. Okabe asked them to call a taxi but Christina went ahead, leaving Okabe behind. He had to walk all the way to their place.
Then again, for SOME REASON… he shall wage war. But, the police are just around the corner and arrest him AGAIN lmao!
At night, they all go to a motel. Okabe had to sleep with the hacker but they decided that only one will sleep on the bed and the other will have to sleep in the car, Okabe lost in Rock Paper Scissors and had to sleep in the car. When he leaves the room, he meets Christina and she asks Okabe to come into her room as she had a few things to ask. She gives him a Diet Dk Pepper, and she also says that it’s cheaper in her country.
She tells him that she sometimes has strange dreams like her cheering him up, she also asks him if these dreams are real memories that she has lost. He says that these are Fragment Memories. He also says that these dreams are actual memories in other World lines but in the current world line, they are just dreams.
And she asks him one more thing.. and that is that she had a dream of both of them kissing each other. But she stops mid-line and hits him with a can for some reason. The next day, they all went inside Faris’s concert. After enjoying the concert, Okabe went to eat something and Christina was a waiter there. She gave food to Okabe but then Okabe started fighting so she didn’t say meow at the end of her sentence lmao!
Okabe went outside and saw Suzuha. She was not meant to be born in this timeline until seven years, how is this possible? He gets a taxi and chases Suzuha’s car. But, do you know what’s more fun? SHE WASN’T EVEN THE REAL SUZUHA! She just looked like her.
All this time, he chased after a random girl thinking it was his dear friend lmaoooo! AND EVEN MORE FUN! He has a dead battery, 67 cents, and questioned himself once again, HOW WILL HE GET BACK. He starts running and after a while, gets a little too tired and falls to the ground.
Then, Christina came and helped him stand up but her car gas ran out and her phone was also dead. She asks him about that other dream of hers and he says that they are real. He also says that he was in love with her in other timelines, wait no! He is in love with her right now. She says that it is not fair how he spent a lot of time with her in other timelines and to her, they all are dreams. He asks her that how does she feel about him. They both stand up and…
She tells Okabe to close his eyes. End of the episode!
Let’s move on to the Mixed Canon and Filler episodes.
MIXED/CANON Episode
Steins; Gate Episode 26 (Load Region of Déjà Vu)
Storyline:
So, this is a movie called Load Region of Déjà Vu but it’s a type of OVA
This movie has a different story, in this world… both Mayuri and Kurisu Makise are alive. Humanity is living a peaceful life too.
So, at the start of the movie… We saw Okabe with the rest of the lab members in a press conference. When they meet Okabe, he suddenly starts to have side effects from all the time-leaping he has done so far. The very next day, someone STRANGE comes in front of Kurisu’s room and tells her to remember these 3 things…SERN, phone microwave and cell phone.
When she goes into the lab, she tells Okabe that her Déjà vu might be similar to his Reading Steiner but suddenly, Okabe disappears and everyone forgets that he ever existed, only Kurisu remembered him. After a week later, she finds a fork that Okabe gave her and she starts to remember the word that the stranger told her. Soon, she went to the time leap machine, went back to August 3 and saw that Okabe disappeared and reappeared where everyone else had the memory of him.
Meaning, she went into a different timeline. She explains to Okabe that his Reading Steiner is getting overused and that’s why he has been disappearing. She tried saving him but nothing helped. He left her with a kiss.
The very next day, she sat down with Okabe and tried to confess her feelings but as she was about to confess her feelings, Okabe disappeared. She started to cry and almost used the time-leap machine again but didn’t.
She went to Suzuha and she told Kurisu that in order to save Okabe, they must put a powerful memory that helps him distinguish from the rest of the world lines. They both went back to June 30, 2005, to talk to Okabe but that only led Okabe to a car accident. As they went back, they found out that the rest of the lab members also had a little bit of memory of Okabe and so, they won’t close down the lab.
She feels more encouraged than ever and goes to the past once again, in order to save Okabe and ACTUALLY succeed in her mission. She planted a concept of Kyouma Hooin in his mind that led him to protect Mayuri even more. She finally saved Okabe from disappearing!
That’s the end of the movie/ova/episode? Call it whatever you want lmao!
