When it comes to diversity in characters, maid themes, and unique storylines, Maid-Sama should definitely be included in the list! With a total of 26 episodes, Maid-Sama got popular all around the world. For real, many people know about this anime. In fact, the good thing about this anime is that it doesn’t have any filler episodes. Why is that? It’s because every episode has a unique and different story to tell as compared to the previous one. 

Kaichou wa Maid-Sama started airing back on April 1, 2010. That’s way back in time, right? Akio Matsuda, who also produced “Mob Psycho 100” & “Snow White With Red Hair”, produced Maid-Sama! So, you can already tell that this anime got popular for a reason. Anyways, tighten your seatbelts because you’re going to experience severe nostalgia after reading this blog! Now, without further ado, let’s get started!

Maid-Sama PLOT 

Maid-Sama tells us the story of the students of Seika High which used to be an all-boys High School. It becomes a co–ed school and that’s the problem! The students of this school are rowdy and ruthless. When girls arrive in this school, they feel that the guys are in majority here and then there comes our female MC named Misaki Ayuzawa who’s the student body president. She tends to work hard at school for the betterment of female students and makes sure to help them too! However, the only thing that she’s scared of is to be found out that she’s a “maid” working at a “maid cafe”. She doesn’t want anyone to know about this little secret that she hides. 

At school, Misaki has authority over boys and her reputation is quite respectable too! She works at the cafe to pay her mom’s debt and to support her sister. Unfortunately, one day, a guy named Usui Takumi finds out her secret. But surprisingly, Usui keeps it a secret instead of exposing it to the school. He started visiting the cafe again and again, thus he developed feelings for Misaki Ayuzawa. Now, Usui is one of the most popular guys at school and there are many false rumors about him. 

Considering all these facts in mind, Misaki Ayuzawa rejects him but that’s not all! After going through many awkward situations, Misaki falls for Usui as well! The two of them soon become a couple and since Usui comes from a wealthy family, his family has got higher standards for him. What will happen next? Are you curious to find out? Let me tell you! We all know how sometimes the universe doesn’t really want us to get what we want to test our patience, right? Just like that, the love between the two of them was tested in several ways but I won’t spoil it for you guys. You should watch Maid-Sama! 

Main Characters

There’s a diversity of characters in this anime despite the series having only 26 episodes. So, hold up your horses and tighten your belts! Let’s find out about the cast of Maid-Sama! 

Misaki Ayuzawa

Misaki Ayuzawa is one of the main characters in the anime, “Maid-Sama” also known as “Kaichou Wa Maid Sama” in Japanese. Due to her intimidating behavior and strictness, she’s known as the “Demon President”. She has to work hard at school and even at the cafe for her own sake. You can say that this girl is very hard-working. After Seika High became co-ed, it needed to have a strict president. So, for that, Misaki Ayuzawa was the perfect choice. However, this all created a burden of responsibilities for her. Sometimes things felt too much for Misaki. As you watch the show, you actually start feeling bad for her.

Misaki slays at her school with her grades and authority. But there’s a side of her that we might not know about! It’s nothing more than her part-time job at “Maid-Latte”. YES! She works at a maid-themed cafe where she has to wear a maid costume and serve coffee to people. Imagine Misaki Ayuzawa in a maid costume! For real though, if you haven’t watched this anime you really need to! This anime can be your “guilty pleasure”. I know you’re thinking that it’s too late and the anime has gotten pretty old. But trust me, it’s worth it! 

Now, let’s talk a bit about her appearance! Misaki Ayuzawa has jet–black hair of medium length. Her height is very average and she also has amber eyes. She tends to take care of herself when it comes to physical strength. She exercises as well! Whenever she exercises, she makes a ponytail! Mostly we see this girl either wearing her school uniform with a green coat or a Maid outfit. She wears two bobby pins when she’s in her maid outfit. Let me show you how she looks in it! 

Okay, that’s enough about her appearance. Now, let’s talk about her personality! Shall we? Well, when it comes to being the “scariest president”, Misaki Ayuzawa should be at the top of the list. She’s really scary when someone messes up even a little at school. She loves justice and equality. That’s the sole reason why she wants female students to have equal rights at Seika High.

If you didn’t know, Misaki’s dad left her. When she had a dad, she was quite gentle and polite. But everything changed when one of her parents left. It left her sad and confused! She had to work hard and she also became easily irritated. I mean, it’s understandable. Misaki has more responsibilities now since she’s the elder daughter and is the only bread-winner. 

Infact, her mother is quite ill. So, she needs money for that which is why she started working at the maid cafe. Despite the difficulties, she tolerated and kept her head high while working. Sometimes things got too tough for our poor girl. But for that, we had Usui Takumi to help her. He made sure no one lays a finger on her. He’s such a sweetheart. Isn’t he? I’ll tell you more about him now! Let’s go! 

Takumi Usui 

Takumi Usui is also one of the main characters in “Maid-Sama”. He belongs to a very wealthy family full of nobles. He’s basically an all-rounder and very talented! That’s why he’s popular at his school and he also has amazing connections thanks to his dad. His life is pretty boring since he has everything. The only thing that he wanted was “Misaki Ayuzawa”. Do you think that he was able to get the love of his life? 

He’s got blonde shiny hair and his green eyes compliment his hair really well! Since he’s very talented, he’s quite athletic too! Everyone at his school admires and respects him. He’s tall and muscular, talk about perfection! Since Takumi is very very handsome, girls tend to fall for him really easily. They literally drool after seeing him. If you don’t believe my eyes, look for yourself! 

Takumi Usui has a soft heart and he tends to understand other peoples’ situations super well. He also has a personal butler unlike all of us broke folks. Takumi Usui was just born different. When it comes to his personality, he’s surely a tsundere. If you’re wondering what’s a tsundere or who’s a tsundere, let me tell you! A tsundere is someone who tends to appear cold by their looks but who internally cares about their loved ones. 

When he got to know about Misaki’s secret, he could have exposed her. Yet he chose not to since he got super interested in her. She had two personas. One as a strict female president at school, another as the maid at the cafe. So, that’s something which clicked our MC, Takumi. Just like that, he became a regular at her cafe and started interacting with her more and more! 

Just like our average MCs, he’s quite devoted to win the love of his life despite people telling him that it’s impossible for both of them to get together. But guess what? He broke all the stereotypes and fought for the love of his life! He resembles his father more than his mother and his father pressures him a lot sometimes to fit into the world of the “Nobles”.

So, that leaves out our MC from trying ordinary things like other students of his age. It’s true that living as a royal or noble gets boring. Imagine having someone control your life and your schedule. Sounds pretty messed up, right? I mean, I know some of you will definitely enjoy living like that, but the question is, till when? 

Suzuna Ayuzawa 

Suzuna Ayuzawa is also one of the main characters and is the younger sister of Misaki Ayuzawa. She also attends Seika High School. She just resembles her older sister a lot. Her hair is of middle length too. Suzuna is a bit prettier than her sister, where’s the lie? Anyways, she’s seen wearing many outfits! 

Suzuna Ayuzawa is stoic and we can’t tell what she’s thinking. She just doesn’t show any emotions. Her humor is dead just like you all. Suzuna Ayuzawa, unlike many students of her age, is mature. She understands her family’s circumstances very well and does her best to cooperate. Suzuna is quite affectionate towards Hinata. She’s calm and quite straightforward. If she doesn’t like anything or anyone, she just says it and lets it all out. And it’s something we all should work on. We definitely should be more honest with ourselves and others too! Isn’t that right? 

Hinata Shintani

Hinata Shintani is a very cheerful character. He’s always super lively around Misaki and is quite extroverted as well! Hinata has a friendly personality that’s why he’s not very famous around women. Women tend to be attracted more towards bad guys. We’ve all heard of that, right? Hinata loves to stuff his face with his favorite snacks and he can literally eat anything anytime! 

His superpower is being able to tell where the smell of the food is coming from! YES! People like him exist. I’m sure there are people like Hinata in real life too. He’s also known as a wishful guy, you can’t simply eat something around him since he will ask you to give him a bite. That’s pretty kawaii, right? Or should I say KOWAI! 

Shizuko Kaga

Shizuko Kaga also attends the Seiki High School and is the best friend of Misaki. She’s got pale skin and is seen wearing glasses. Mostly, she wears a uniform and isn’t that athletic. She claims herself that she’s not good at sports. 

Shizuko Kaga is a smart, self-dependent, and mature girl. She’s best friends with Misaki and Misaki probably got smarter by staying with her. She’s one of those girls who are good with numbers or math specifically. Yes, smart girls exist! If you’re good at math, you can surely relate to this character. Also, let me assume you wear glasses? Shizuko is the type of girl who doesn’t really like to get herself in problems and does her best to not gain anyone’s attention! So, yes she’s the type of girl who minds her own business. 

Hanazono Sakura

Hanazono Sakura is also one of the friends of our main character. She’s always sweet, cheery, but a little scared of everything too. She’s quite pretty and tends to care a lot about her friends. Hanazono Sakura fears rejection and wants everyone to accept her. Other peoples’ opinions matter a lot for this easy–going girl. She may appear childish at times but that’s part of her personality. Overall, she’s the type of girl you’d wanna keep happy. 

Igarashi Tora

Igarashi Tora used to be the president of Seiki High. He’s an heir to the Igarashi Group which proves that he’s one of the richest kids in school as well. He’s quite tall and is known to be extremely handsome. I mean, just look at him. Being handsome has its own benefits. Although he looks composed and chill, in reality, he has a very complicated personality! He also believes that money can buy anything.
