Made in Abyss is the kind of Thriller Anime that is going to remain a classic for a long time even though it came out not too long ago. It features a wonderful story that we haven’t really come across in any other anime. It’s just very unique. While it appears to be light-hearted with very young characters and cute art-style, Made in the Abyss grows darker and will eventually get very disturbing. When it comes to originality, Made in Abyss stands at the top proudly!

Made in Abyss Story
Made in Abyss introduces to us a mysterious “Abyss” that is filled with very strange things. Only some of the very skilled Cave Raiders have managed to come back alive with some precious ancient artifacts. We’re introduced to a young girl named Riko who has always dreamt of exploring the Abyss. Nobody really knows how big the Abyss is. However, Riko’s mother ended up going into it and has never come back since. This is why Riko wants to go inside the Abyss and explore the depths of it. One day, Riko comes across a boy who apparently came from the Abyss and is a robot. Will Riko be able to go on her quest with the help of the boy? Or will they get lost inside the depths of the Abyss instead?

Characters
1. Riko
Riko is a very energetic, cheerful and friendly girl. She has a very curious nature and also has a sharp mind. She’s a very determined and enthusiastic girl for her age. She had great interest in exploring the Abyss and she studied it properly before going inside. Even though she’s not very physically strong, she’s quite mentally strong and is also very brave. She doesn’t panic under pressure and keeps a cool mind, thinking about everything rationally before taking any kind of action. She can handle most things on her own. Overall, Riko is a very good-natured and brave girl.
2. Reg
Reg is a very shy and reserved robot with great combat skills. He’s always there to protect Riko and gets very harsh when he’s facing an opponent. Though he gets nervous easily, he’s shown to keep his cool under stressful situations. He has sworn to protect Riko and doesn’t hesitate getting himself in trouble while protecting her.
3. Nanachi
Nanachi is a quiet and reserved narehate who likes to keep their distance from everyone. They might appear to be a bit rude and cynical but deep down, Nanachi is really a gentle person. 4. Faputa
Faputa appears to be a humanoid creature who doesn’t act reasonable most of the time. She doesn’t really speak much and no one can really understand what she’s saying. When it comes to Reg, she gets very jealous and possessive. She claims Reg to be her own possession. She could be seen visibly upset when Reg failed to remember her in front of her. She was broken when Reg told her that he would like to spend time with Riko and Nanachi instead.
