Zoldyck Family Saga and Heavens Arena Arc (Ep. 27-36)

Zoldyck sounds like a water-type Pokemon, am I right? And Heaven’s Arena sounds like an old medieval movie that has King Arthur as the main character. But boy oh boy, you don’t want to miss these arcs.
Although unofficial, the Zoldyck Family Saga is a very important part of the Hunter X Hunter series as we are introduced to one of the families of the main characters. The Zoldyck Family Arc only lasts from Episode 22-26 and is one fun arc to watch.
Moving on the Heavens Arena Arc. This arc should be the second official arc in the Hunter X Hunter series and lasts from Episode 27-36. As you can probably tell by the word “Arena”, if you don’t have a goldfish brain like me, this arc follows a tournament style story. I ain’t no psychopath that’s gonna spoil your fun, so I’ll leave the rest up to you!

Yorknew City Arc (Ep. 37-58)

The word “Yorknew” is like that time you copied your seatmate’s assignment but just changed the words so you wouldn’t get caught. I must say the name might seem a little funny but this Arc is hardcore. This Arc is also called the Phantom Troupe Arc and contains Episodes 37-58 of the anime adaptation. It’s the fourth arc in the series and this is where things start getting a bit dark (if it wasn’t already). This is one of the most “Canon” arcs in the series so you MUST NOT skip it.
If you skip it, kick the bucket you must. It has a LOT of battles and my oh my do things go crazy. I already said it, this arc is a must watch as it has a lot of important parts that come to play in the climax of the series.

Greed Island Arc (Ep. 59-75)

Okay, if Heaven’s Arena sounds like an old medieval movie, then Greed Island sounds like a C-rank horror film. Well, I guess it doesn’t sound as weird as One Piece. Those guys come up with janky names for their arcs. The Greed Island Arc comprises Episode 59-75 of the Hunter X Hunter anime series. Its the fourth arc in Hunter X Hunter and let’s just say it’s just like the Hunger Games.
The Greed Island Arc is basically Hunger Games if Katniss Everdeen had Nen. This is where we see Gon and Killua’s growth as the duo push on to find Gon’s father and become the strongest Hunters.

Chimera Ant Arc (Ep. 76-136)

The Chimera Ants Arc is probably one of the best Arcs in Hunter X Hunter only second to the Dark Continent Arc which wasn’t adapted in the anime YET. It has the most intense battles and the most iconic scenes in the Hunter X Hunter series. The Chimera Ants Arc is from Episode 76 to Episode 136. It was adapted from Chapters 186 up to Chapter 318 of the Manga.
It opens up a new horrific horizon for the series and Gon. Here we see a new side of him that wasn’t introduced to us before. There are a lot of unexpected twists in this arc so you should watch it. Never in my life did I want someone to not skip something. GO WATCH IT NOW! I SAID NOW!

Chairman Election Arc (Ep. 137-148)

The Chairman Election Arc or just the Hunter Elections Arc is the last animated arc in the Hunter X Hunter anime adaptation. It starts from Episode 137 to Episode 148 which is the final run of the anime so far. The Arc was adapted from Chapter 319 up to Chapter 339 of the Manga.
This introduces some new other characters and gives a brief introduction to the next Arc which is the Dark Continent Arc. This is probably the final arc in the Hunter X Hunter anime since it’s been 9 years since a new episode came out.

What is Hunter X Hunter?

If you didn’t already know, Hunter X Hunter is a shounen anime series adapted from the manga of the same name. It has a total of 148 episodes and started airing back in Fall 2011. It was also animated by one of the legendary studios in our generation, Studio Madhouse. The story is amazing, the plot is captivating, and I’ve never seen a guy who loved wearing green more than Gon.
The plot of Hunter X Hunter follows that exact kid named Gon Freecss. Gon, just like any other shounen protagonist, was left by his overpowered father when he was still a child. By the time Gon could walk his father was GONE, get it? I know, I’m just that big brain. So Gon ventures to this world where people known as Hunters take on life-threatening jobs. This spiky haired green spongebob wanted to become the greatest Hunter in the world and find his father.
