Haikyuu!! Season 1

Storyline:
The first season of Haikyuu is very exciting and fresh. It revolves around the life of a short boy named Shoyo Hinata whose dreams are definitely higher than his height. Hinata becomes obsessed with Volleyball after catching a glimpse of Karasuno High School playing in Nationals on the Television. It inspires him deeply to become one of the best Volleyball players in the world. WOW boy, way to go!
So, the first season of Haikyuu has a total of 25 episodes and it ends on an OVA named, “The Arrival of Lev”. The first season just tells us the daily life struggles of being short. HAHA, I’m just kidding. It basically tells us the journey of Shoyo Hinata who just wants to join the Karasuno High Volleyball team and play with them. This passionate boy meets a person totally different from him named Tobio Kageyama, who is also known as “King of the Court”.

Kageyama, Hinata, Daichi, Asahi, Nishinoya, Sugawara, and etc make an unbreakable bond and a team. But of course, no team can be made that easily. They all went through rough times and rough training. Everyone is carrying a sad past with them and trying their best to improve their lives.
After the Karasuno High School’s Volleyball team is established, they participate in many matches and face victories as well. While playing, each member learns about the other’s strengths and weaknesses and ends up building synergy. That’s what the first season is all about.
Haikyuu!! The Arrival Of Haiba Lev - OVA

Storyline:
The Arrival Of Haiba Lev was aired on 09 November 2014 by Shueisha, Jump Festa. This episode begins with a mysterious figure in Nekoma who is trying to track down a cat and quickly follows it around the corner, just as Kuroo and Kenma walk past. He ends up entering a gym where the members of the team are present and are getting ready for their morning practice.
With their new member, Haiba Lev entering the team, Yaku recalls that the addition of a team player should be done as soon as possible. And then, he ends up comparing the behavior of Lev to a stray cat. HAHA, that’s kind of cute, right?

When Lev arrives at the practice late with the orange cat in his arms. The team rebukes him for his tardiness. When the practice begins, Lev is unable to receive Yamamoto’s spike and falls down whenever it happens. The team compliments him on his huge height and the benefit of being half-Russian. Yes, this guy is half-Russian. He’s able to receive the spikes of Inouka but again, practice makes a man perfect.
At last, the coach tells the team that they’re going to do a practice training match with Kunihara Senior High. And that’s how their practice for the match continues and everyone does their best to win it.
Haikyuu!! Season 2

Storyline:
Since you have to face defeat to learn a lot of things, Karasuno was defeated by Aoba Johsai in their Inter-High Preliminaries. Karasuno works hard and polishes the skills of their team by practicing again and again with different strategies.
Our good manager or advisor, Ittetsu Takeda arrives with exciting news which is that the Karasuno High Volleyball team is going to TOKYO! But not for vacations! They were invited by Nekoma to their training camp along with Fukurodani Academy.
Following their trip to Tokyo, they ran into Ushijima who’s the captain of Shiratorizawa Academy’s team. Our small boy with large guts literally challenged Ushijima and said that he will defeat him! WOAH! Our boy got guts!
Hinata, Kageyama, Nishinoya, and Tanaka are unable to go to Tokyo as they haven’t passed their final exams. Tanaka and Nishinoya study just fine while Kageyama and Hinata face several problems with their tutor, Tsukishima. YES! Tsukishima proved to be good-for-nothing for both of them. However, this boy is very smart. Hitoka Yachi who’s a first-year student ends up being their tutor. She’s literally so cute, how can one not fall for her sunshine smile?

Hitoka Yachi has the intention of becoming Karasuno’s manager but when she sees all of the guys around her, she gets nervous. I mean, If I were her I’d be nervous as hell too. However, after watching the team’s practice match against Oginishi High, she changes her mind and becomes devoted.
With the fear of disapproval, Yachi tells her mother about this new activity. But weirdly enough, she didn’t say no. We must remember that Hinata was there for her too when convincing her mother. So, that was a really wholesome scene I’d say.
Just like that, there were so many funny incidents in the anime along with some serious fights within the team too! During their practice matches, Kageyama and Hinata discover a joint attack. If you’ve watched Haikyuu then I’m pretty sure you know what’s about to come. So, the attack is like, Hinata jumps in the air with his eyes closed and feels the change in air and Kageyama throws the ball at him, then BOOM! It’s a loss for the other team!
Haikyu!! OVA 2 - Failing Grades

Storyline:
This OVA revolves around Hinata and Kageyama failing their exams and Tanaka trying to let them get a ride to Tokyo. Now, if you haven’t watched Haikyuu, you might be thinking who’s Tanaka? There’s Saeko Tanaka who is the sister of Ryunosuke Tanaka. She helps these boys reach Japan in her car which was pretty dope. Yes, I live for this scene.
Haikyuu!! Season 3

Storyline:
Moving on, we got to season 3 of Haikyuu!! This season has only ten episodes. But the ten of them are very intense and are filled with participation in different sports tournaments. The third season begins with a match against Shiratorizawa.
The match begins with Ushijima scoring a kill off our libero, Nishinoya. The Libero isn’t discouraged at all but is hyped to play and do his best against the left-handed ace. Sounds pretty intense right? Seriously though, if you’ve left off watching Haikyuu on season 2, you’re missing out on a lot, especially on season 3. It’s dope!
The game of or should I say the game Hinata has been waiting on all this time continues, and the first set is won by Shiratorizawa. Karasuno team isn’t discouraged and is much determined to win the next game. Shiratorizawa has so many monstrous players. Like, Karasuno is having enough problem blocking the beast Ushijima. On the other hand, their left-handed ace also adds up to the problem who is Tendou Satori. Yes, that ketchup-haired guy. So, weird.
Karasuno faces so many difficulties fighting against Shiratorizawa. That’s what you get for being over-ambitious. However, that’s alright since they learned a lot. But guess what? Karasuno ended up defeating Shiratorizawa and went home with tears of happiness. I’m so glad!
Haikyuu!! OVA 3 - Special Feature! Batteling on
the Spring High Volleyball

Storyline:
This episode revolves around news being broadcast on T.V that put the spotlight on Miyagi Prefecture Spring Interhigh Qualifier and their matches.
Haikyuu!! OVA 4 - Land Vs Air

Storyline:
Since so many teams are eager to participate in this Miyagi Prefecture Spring Interhigh Qualifier, Karasuno High Volleyball Team also decides to participate and have some fun during the match. Karasuno decides to go all the way in when the match begins!
Haikyuu!! OVA 5 - The Path of the Ball

Storyline:
With Noheba winning the match and Nekoma losing, Yaku might have sprained his ankle when he fell and accidentally stepped on someone. During all this, Kenma gives his teammates encouragement speech and successfully raises up their morals. And that’s how the story proceeds if you’re curious you should watch it!
Haikyuu!! Season 4

Storyline:
With a total of 25 episodes, this season is intense as well as it will refresh your mind too. It starts off with an intense battle at Tokyo Qualifiers for the three remaining spots in the Volleyball competition. All the Volleyball teams like, Nekoma, Nohebi Academy, Fukorodani High School, and even Karasuno are striving to participate in such a huge competition.
Despite going through the toughest times, our best team Karasuno made it through the Miyagi Prefecture Spring Interhigh Qualifier. As they were preparing for the nationals, Kageyama is offered to go to All-Japan Youth Training Camp.
