Why is Fullmetal Alchemist Popular?

The reason that Fullmetal Alchemist is the best fictional anime of all time is that it portrays a world like no other and is completely adhered to with consistent internal rules that produce real results. On this basis, we will present the story of two brothers who have a lot of baggage in preparation. There is no doubt that the Elric Brothers story is one of the best anime lists ever made. The most controversial point is the choice of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood or Fullmetal Alchemist. For starters, both of these anime series are based on the same manga. The difference is that the ending of the show has nothing to do with the manga, as the first episode was made during the production of the manga. The brothers came later and faithfully adapted the cartoon. They both have great animations, a cute story, and great voice overs. A sorority is a great option if you like a faster pace, more action, and more humor. The original version had a more consistent and dramatic rhythm.

Fullmetal Alchemist, as the name suggests, has the themes of metal and alchemy. It has gained popularity because of the engaging adventures of the two brothers. I hope we know who these legends are; yes, they are the famous Edward and Alphonse.

The science of alchemy ignited their adventures, which lit up the fire of excitement in the otakus! Just so you know, during the airing period of Fullmetal Alchemist, the number of students applying for Chemistry and Philosophy increased incredibly, leaving the world stunned.

Just kidding! Everyone thought it was cool to be like the Elric brothers until they realized they had to offer a body part to be as cool as them. This anime indeed left a huge impression on otakus.

Fullmetal Alchemist

It showed the bond of two brothers and their life. How they came close, how they handled themselves after the loss of their precious one. It is one touching anime, huff! It makes me sad. But oh well, apart from being painful, this anime makes you smile and understand others on a different level.

The manga was first adapted for animation in 2003. But the Fullmetal Alchemist adaptation that aired in 2003, did not stick to the original plot of the manga and, after a few episodes, it completely deviated. Thus for most people, those episodes with the new plot were considered as fillers

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood aired in 2009 and strictly followed the manga plot, and relatively has a small number of fillers.

Plot

Fullmetal Alchemist

So, the galvanic journey of the two brothers started when both of them lost their body parts due to alchemy. Well, Alphonse lost his body completely, and to bring his soul back, Edward’s success came at the cost of his right arm!

Alchemy comes with a cost, and it’s forbidden for human mutation. But our legends have applied it to bring back their late mother! Ah, it’s emotional! Now, the electrifying adventure begins!

Edward and Alphonse begin their search for the Philosopher’s stone to get back all that they lost. Yes, especially their mother! However, my friends, the journey wasn’t so easy and that’s what made it worth watching

That awkward moment when you think how much is a human worth? And the Alchemist says, just one of your arms, please! LOL!

Wondering which fillers can be skipped?

In Fullmetal Alchemist, since many episodes are based on the new plot, thus they are considered as fillers. So you should not take a chance and miss them all. Therefore for your ease, I have labeled them as New Plot

As for Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, the anime follows the manga seriously. There are hardly any fillers to skip. But you are going to find all the details below, so rest assured.

Difference between Fullmetal Alchemist & Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

fullmetal alchemist

Okay, guys, you might be wondering that they both are connected to each other in one way or another. But that’s not the case; it’s not a sequel! The Fullmetal alchemist was not as popular as Brotherhood.

Well, it’s best to say that the anime became famous because of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood! Moreover, as mentioned earlier, Fullmetal Alchemist deviates from the manga plot whereas Brotherhood follows the manga thoroughly!

I hope we have now got a clear-cut idea about both!

A Little about Each Filler

Fullmetal Alchemist FIllers

So guys, to make your task easier, we’re going to provide you with the details about each main filler. Be it in Fullmetal Alchemist or Brotherhood. This will surely help you analyze whether you want to skip the fillers or not.

However, partial fillers include some important points as well, so they can’t be missed. I can bet you won’t like me to spoil the story here. Therefore, I have decided to provide the plot of only the main fillers that have no effect on the overall story!

So, are you ready? Here we go again!

A Forger's Love (Episode 4)

fullmetal alchemist a forger's love

This filler didn’t have much to offer regarding the original plot. Although it did give some information about the Alchemists and gave us an idea about how Alchemy worked. This episode also depicts how Alchemists were viewed in those days.

This filler is a story of when the Elric brothers visit a village. That village is supposedly being attacked by Zombies at night, and the villagers think they are the result of Alchemy. The Elric brothers help the young girl named Claus and get to know about another Alchemist named Majhal.

So, if you guys want to see how the Elric brothers deal with the zombies, then you better not miss this one! It’s one of the most entertaining filler episodes of The Fullmetal Alchemist. That means you won’t get bored!

The Phantom Thief (Episode 10)

conclusion

You know a superhero is always considered a robber, a mugger, or sometimes a con artist. And this one trait is common among all superheroes as this increases their popularity. The same thing happens with the Elric brothers in this episode.

Ed finds himself in a situation where the police think he is the culprit. Both brothers end up running and bump into a smart and kind girl, Clara. She helps them, treats their wounds, and since she speaks just like their mum, Al finds himself attached to her. They stay in that town for a short period and move on.

However, this Fullmetal filler episode isn’t that important in terms of the story, but it is pretty entertaining! So, if you don’t mind breaking your tempo, then you can consider watching this one!

The Flame Alchemist, the Bachelor Lieutenant & the Mystery of Warehouse 13 (Episode 37)

fullmetal alchemist the flame alchmist

In this filler, the story focuses on the military units and their struggles.  Well, the story revolves around the Mustang Unit and their efforts to investigate their leader. Mainly Lt. Havoc, along with the other three guys, investigates Mustang.

Later on, the plot might make you laugh or maybe become nostalgic because it’s about Havoc’s complexities regarding relationships. You’ll be seeing Havoc in a bad mood, or we can say in depression because he can’t keep a girlfriend.

Fullmetal Alchemist FIller Episodes

Other than that, Havoc also has a setting with Sheshka. Well, that’s something that we call complex, LOL! In short, this filler depicts the problems faced by Havoc and how he can solve them!

So, if you’re interested or feel nostalgic about it, then it’s a great episode to spend your time on! It’s safe to say Havoc is the one who made the filler episode pretty intriguing and, of course, helping for love birds!

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

Episode 1-Fullmetal Alchemist

FMAB Episode 1

Okay, guys, this episode is all about our talented Elric brothers. Just like you guys, King Bradley recognized their talent and gave them the task of hunting Isaac Mcdugal. He was famous as a dishonest freezing alchemist.

So, this episode will give you laughter and chills combined. That’s because Isaac tried his best to annoy our Ed. As we know, our Ed doesn’t like criticism when it comes to his height. So you better imagine the scenarios! LOL

Well, jokes apart, never call a short person short, call them a minuscule; at least the words seem big!

Episode 27-Interlude Party

FMAB Episode 27

So guys, in this episode, the story revolves around Hohenheim and Pinako. Both of them get flashbacks of their past. Additionally, the episode recalls the events where Ed and Al lost their body parts and how they began their research for the Philosopher’s stone.

Other than that, it also shows the flashbacks regarding the Elric brothers and their valiant journey. Well, it’s safe to say that episode twenty-seven showed the recap of the previous episodes.

Additionally, the episode focuses on Hohenheim and his thoughts about humanity.

It portrays a clear depiction of his character! The perspective and theory of Hohenheim are shown. Additionally, how and why he considers people pitiful and weak. Well, everyone has a different perspective, and so has Hohenheim!

So, if you like knowing people’s perspectives and all, then it’s a perfect one to watch! Other than that, you would realize how down to earth our Ed is! Literally, he is very down to earth, LOL!

Conclusion

Edward Elric

Okay guys, above were the filler lists of both the adaptations. Each of them has something unique about it. If you have read the manga and it intrigues you, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is the perfect choice for you guys.

However, if you liked the concept and don’t feel like following the manga plot, then Fullmetal Alchemist is made for you! It depends upon your taste. The majority of the fans vote for Brotherhood, which is why this anime became popular!

Hey, do you know why Alphonse was more responsible? One of the reasons Alphonse felt responsible for Edward was because he was tall and short people like Ed look up to them!

We hope you enjoyed reading the Fullmetal Alchemist filler list and now have a clear-cut concept about it! Let us know in the comment section which adaptation would you prefer and why? As always, we would love to know your answers!
