DanMachi was basically a light novel series that first came out in January 2013 and has a total of 17 volumes. It got adapted into a manga series and an anime series. The anime series has three seasons. The first season has 13 episodes, while the second and third ones have 12 episodes in total.

DanMachi introduces us to the city of Orario where everything is hustling and bustling. It’s a busy city. The city has a bunch of adventurers and Bell Cranel is the guy who aspires to become one desperately. One day, he comes across a goddess named Hestia. He thought he got one step closer to becoming an adventurer.
He, along with Hestia, embark on their journey and go through different Dungeons in order to complete their quests. There is danger everywhere and getting killed inside the Dungeons is a pretty common occurence. Even on the surface, death lurks everywhere.
This story is about gods and humans who struggle to get along while working together. Will our protagonist be able to achieve his goal without getting killed?

Season 2 introduces us to the same city of Orario and our protagonist, Bell Cranel, along with Hestia. He also gets to meet other demi-humans named Liliruca Arde and a blacksmith named Welf Crozzo. Both of them helped him become a very skilled adventurer who got his skills polished in a short amount of time.
This earned him the title of Little Rookie. Season 2 continues the adventures of Bell Cranell and his friends as they delve deep inside the dungeons.

DanMachi’s third season introduces us to a deadly monster named Vouivre who had escaped from a bunch of adventurers. That monster can take the form of a little girl and comes across Bell Cranel. Now, Bell hides her but has no idea how lethal she is. This act will certainly backfire on Bell. Will he be able to get out of this sticky situation scot-free?

1. Bell Cranel
Bell Cranel is the protagonist of the series. He’s the one who serves the Hestia Family as a Captain. He is a very gentle and good-natured boy but gets awkward and shy at times. He cares deeply about his loved ones, especially the goddess Hestia and the Hestia family.
He fell in love with Ais Wallenstein after she rescued him. After that incident, Bell decided to get strong enough to be worthy of Ais’ attention and love. Bell’s sole reason to become an adventurer was to have his own group of girls. However, after some time, he threw away this idea and wanted to become an actual hero who saves lives.
Bell is quite naive as he trusts almost everyone and gets scammed in return. He also tends to forgive people easily. No matter what they’ve done to him, he won’t hold a grudge against them.
Bell is really bad at lying and hiding his true feelings. He’s often busted by Hestia. He gets really flustered around women but also wants to interact with them.
2. Hestia
Hestia is a goddess and the head of the Hestia family. She has a very bubbly nature and is a pure ball of energy and sunshine. Like Bell, she’s also very kind towards others. She has a very soft heart and is very compassionate. Hestia loves peace and avoids conflicts at all times. She also appears to be childish.
Having fallen for Bell, Hestia becomes extremely jealous of the girls around him. She often gets aggressive with Bell when he tries to get comfortable with other girls. Her jealousy often makes her do stupid and hilarious things like prohibiting any kind of physical contact between males and females.
Hestia cares deeply for her familia and will do anything for their safety. She’s also a very responsible and understanding goddess.
3. Ais Wallenstein
Ais Wallenstein is an adventurer as well as a part of the Loki Familia. She is a quiet and serious person who doesn’t like interacting with other people much. Despite being one of the strongest adventurers, Ais does not look down upon others who are weaker than her.
She is goal-oriented and wants to achieve even more power. Ais often seems to be clueless about certain things and that makes her subject to teasing. Ais is also very vengeful and doesn’t forgive others easily. She used to be aggressive as a child but her anger mellowed down a bit when she grew up.
4. Liliruca Arde
Liliruca Arde is one of the members of the Hestia family. She used to be a member of the Soma family before but later converted to the Hestia family. She used to be a supporter of adventurers and started hating adventurers because of how they treated her. She didn’t like Bell at first but after she saw his kindness, she grew fond of him.
Liliruca is great at planning and she’s the most reliable and capable person for planning out strategies. Because of her, the Hestia family had been saved so many times. When it comes to arguments, Liliruca always talks with logic. This makes the other person speechless because her facts and logic are always right.
