About Bungou Stray Dogs

The story revolves around an orphan named Atsushi Nakajima. For some reason, he can see a mystical tiger in his orphanage that no one else is able to see. Strange things start happening in the orphanage and everyone suspects Atsushi. He’s thrown out of the orphanage on the streets. He’s homeless now.

One day, he’s sitting on a riverbank when he saves a strange man named Osamu Dazai from drowning. Dazai is a suicide enthusiast and also a supernatural detective. Dazai reveals to Atsushi that he’s also after the tiger that Atsushi can see wandering around. Dazai has a partner named Doppo Kunikida as well who helps them solve the mystery.
After that, Atsushi joins the supernatural detective agency where Osamu Dazai works. Atsushi comes across a lot of strange events that police cannot handle on their own. He also meets a lot of eccentric people working in the supernatural detective agency.
Bungou Stray Dogs Filler Episodes
1. The Azure Messenger (Episode 6, Season 1)

In this episode of Bungou Stray Dogs, Dazai again tries to attempt suicide. Atsushi saves Dazai yet again from killing himself. Dazai, Atsushi, and Kunikida have a new mission. The Yokohama visitors keep disappearing and they must look into the matter as soon as possible.
The case came from an anonymous source and the three of them go to Rokuzo Taguchi’s base to ask him about the source. Rokuzo is a hacker that was hired by Kunikida. He tells them that the source of this information is the Azure Messenger. The three of them go to a hospital that was abandoned years ago to investigate some more. They meet the cabbie there, who is one of the informants.
As they’re investigating, a woman screams somewhere and they run towards the basement where they find her inside a glass tank. Kunikida shoots down the glass tank and lets the woman out. The name of the woman is Nobuko Sasaki. She reveals that there are more captives in the hospital. As soon as the team finds them, they’re killed by a poisonous gas that is filled in their chambers.

The group fails to rescue the Yokohama visitors and the news spreads. The team go to meet Sasaki. Kunikida names the cabbie as the culprit and he’s actually right about it. The cabbie now asks the team for their help and tells them that he’d give up after kidnapping and assaulting a Port Mafia member.
The Mafia attacks their cab soon after and the cabbie runs away. Dazai goes after the cabbie and Kunikuda is faced by Akutagawa. Their fight is interrupted by the police though. The police captures the cabbie.
The team now heads towards the Azure King’s hideout. The five detectives who were able to locate him.
2. Love for the Disease Called Ideals (Episode 7, Season 1)

In this episode, the Agency calls a meeting and discusses the matter regarding the Azure Messenger’s bomb threat that could kill most of the people living in Yokohama. The Azure Messenger tells them to disarm the bomb by sundown. If they’re unable to do that, the news of their failure would spread like wildfire.
Yukuichi Fuzukawa, the president of the Agency, orders the Agency to save Yokohama no matter what. He also tells everyone that they must uncover the Azure Messenger’s identity in order to save the reputation of the agency.
Kunikida asks Rokuzo to help them in locating the bomb. As Atsushi was with Sasaki, the rest of the team members visit him and tell him about the meeting. As Sasaki is a social psychology teacher, Dazai asks her for her opinion about the Azure Messenger. According to her, there is a relation between the Azure Messenger and the Azure King.

Meanwhile, Ranpo, who is a detective at the supernatural detective agency, claims that the bomb is in Negishi. However, it is later revealed by Ranpo and Rokuzo respectively that the bomb is in a former force facility. As soon as they arrive there, the enemy forces attack them.
The enemy forces are distracted by Kunikida and Dazai and Atsushi search for the transmitter. After locating the transmitter, both of them are faced with a very powerful opponent that they’re unable to fend off. Kunikida is also trapped because of a large number of attackers. Dazai and Kunikida decide to switch places through a wire gun and are able to defeat their opponents with ease. They are also able to disarm the bomb before it could explode.
After the incident, Dazai contacts Kunikida and tells him to come to the abandoned hospital where he was going to unveil the mastermind behind the whole scenario. Rokuza is revealed to be the one who hacked into Dazai’s account and wanted to know about the preparator.
As Rozuka is about to flee, he is shot by Sasaki, who is revealed to be the Azure Messenger. It is also revealed that the Azure King is Sasaki’s husband who died years ago. Meanwhile, Rokuza takes Dazai’s gun and shoots Sasaki out of revenge for his father before biting the dust himself.
