Most of the main characters have something in common, and you probably figured that you want something new and refreshing— something that’s out of the ordinary like with the wits and craziness of Sakata Gintoki (Gintama), physical strength that is often misunderstood because of squinty, unfriendly, scary-looking eyes but actually soft hearted like Sawamura Seiji (Midori no Hibi), or even the Father of all geniuses, Sakuragi Hanamichi (Slam Dunk), because if so, worry no more for all of those are packed in one series, and it’s no other than, Beelzebub!
Before we show you the touching moments and a mix of madness of this remarkable, inspiring and entertaining concept of an ordinary delinquent raising the devil’s baby, let us give you the COMPLETE Beelzebub Filler List for you to enjoy the entirety of the show by focusing only on the important scenes and skip on the extra fillers.

We all know how dragging it is to watch those fillers. If you know what I mean, I had to shed blood for my own personal experience with other titles that have too many irrelevant episodes, which should not have existed based on its original story—a great example of that is Naruto. Here at QuoteTheAnime, you can definitely depend on us for our guru-like skills on this one. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s embark on the journey!

What is Beelzebub?

Beelzebub has been well-praised for its uniqueness since the first day of its release. Although it is true that like any other shonen (a genre that is made specifically for younger boys) available in the human realm, it can’t be no different from other titles since there is no single shonen that does not have those repetitive qualities, in fact they do have similarities like the main character can be too assertive, overpowered and has a strong sense of justice but bear with me, this one proves to be superior than any of those titles. One thing for sure, Beelzebub has a different vibe to it.
The story does not simply revolve around a troubled kid with an energy-producing gun on his hand or a gigantic mass ball of energy aiming at his foreign enemies that tries to destroy Earth but here, the series feature the story of a mere human, although overpowered, he is not an innocent guy from next door, he is a delinquent who happens to raise a devil’s child and while nothing special can be expected of him except his unworldly strength, he can be a responsible young adult as well.

Beelzebub first premiered on January 9, 2011 and finished airing on March 25, 2012 with a total of 60 episodes having a duration of 24 minutes per episode. According to the statistics, the overall popularity of the series has reached an average score of 5-7 across all trusted anime database platforms. The anime was adapted originally from the manga (comics) written by Ryuuhei Tamura having a total of 28 volumes published in the span of 7 years in the weekly Shonen Jump. The animation studio was Pierrot Plus, with the notable titles they produced are Tokyo Ghoul: Re and Kingdom Season 3. To be honest, the animation was not exactly as excellent as the works of UFOtable and MAPPA studios but comparing some generic shonen they still have better output in adapting this series. Plus, if you are a sucker for watching a series because of the casted seiyuu (voice actor) like me, you will definitely love this series. If you don’t know Katsuyuki Konishi, then that would definitely break my heart a thousand fold.

The only downside I can think of for this anime is they do have filler episodes but they remain truthful from the original plot, the reason behind why they had to insert a couple of fillers is prolly because they had to squeeze the timeline of the manga since it wasn’t probably that far from the current arc considering the manga was also actively publishing in weekly jump magazine at the time it was aired.
If you already run through all the tables of Beelzebub, you might want to know a bit more of what the story is about, right? But of course, not to the point of actually spoiling everything from start to finish. I will borrow the powers of Saiki Kusuo just for this critical moment. If you happen to awaken your extra senses because of this filler list, make sure to let us know if you want me to become the next Nara Shikamaru, delivering you the best source of quality information. To cut to the chase, let me showcase you how this masterpiece goes.
Plot

The story started with a bit of an unusual opening since the first introduction of the main character was a little bit awkward, he was standing at the center surrounded by these violent looking men, they were about to take him down when suddenly they can’t move because of their outright disbelief of what they saw happening at that very moment, an infant is literally peeing above someone’s head. This infant is not your typical average baby, his name is Beelzebub, son of the demon king.
Before we dive more about the story of Beelzebub, let’s discuss more about the baby first. Oga calls him Beelbou. If you are wondering who Tatsumi Oga is and how he influences the baby, he is one of the protagonists of this series. He’s the strongest delinquent in Ishiyama High, a high school known to be a notorious school full of juvenile delinquents. He was the one whom the baby was blessing with his pee.
After the unfortunate incident at the beginning of the episode, Oga was sharing his fateful experience with the baby to his best friend, Furuichi. He told Furuichi what happened on the day he was at the riverbank beating someone up out of their wits and then suddenly, out of the blue, he saw this huge guy floating in the river, which he pulled out of the water to “save” him, well in a rare moment of kindness according to him, but the next thing he did was hit the guy like he was some kind of a pile of blocks you often see when you’re doing a Karate chop. The guy’s body cracked open and after the blinding flashes of light revealed a baby boy. That’s how Oga and Beelbou met and how they started a wild journey together.

We all know that a story about demons could be scary, bloody and horrifyingly dark, right? But not this one, the gist of the story simply rotates on how-to-raise-a-demon-baby, with less room for romantic scenes or nothing was set in stone to say the least, it definitely focuses more on the development between the two protagonists.
One thing I really enjoyed about this series was the amount of comedy they invested in it. Take for example how Furuichi gave out a pleasant tsukkomi; in layman’s terms, in the field of comedy, they are the ones whose role is to slap you back into reality by leaving you a sarcastic and sharp remark. The fighting scenes are also not too stretched like most of the shonen genre wherein the battle could take a full week or sometimes months just to defeat the enemy.
Going back to the story, Oga decides to bring the baby back to Furuichi’s house when they were confronted by the baby’s nanny, her name is Hildegarde, she made attempts to take the baby away from him but failed because of the baby’s strong attachments to Oga. She then relays to him the important mission that only he could fulfill; such a role was to find the evilest mortal to raise the baby for the purpose of destroying humanity. Knowing Oga’s personality, he refuses the job which caused a little conflict with Hildegarde leading her to attack him profusely. Together with the other thugs, she managed to corner Oga but the baby was irritated and got into a tantrum.

They need to be reminded that the baby should not be provoked at all cost because it could be the end of the earth. Luckily, Oga was able to tame him and he was able to stop him from doing anything sinister and disastrous. After that incident, Hildegarde informed Oga the bad news that if he’s out of Beelbou’s radar about 15 meters away, he will definitely experience the wrath of getting electrocuted. Also, this will lead him crying which could terribly result in experiencing the same fate as what is prophesied in Armageddon. The reason is simple, because the baby’s cry will gradually worsen and eventually destroy the city without any remnants left.
With this, Oga decides to look for a formidable opponent that could surpass him. If he can find someone more wicked, malevolent and much stronger than him, he thinks he can dump the baby away from him and move on with his life. By doing so, he can be freed from any responsibilities that he needs to fulfill.
One day, Oga was suffering from lack of sleep, he noticed a mark on his hand and it revealed that it’s a symbol of a contract between him and the baby. It was revealed that the mark will grow the more he defeats his opponents, it was known to be Zebel spell which is technically Oga’s secret weapon against any ordeals he will be facing later on.

One hilarious instance about this series, when Oga and Beelbou swapped bodies. While they were trying to figure out the way to go back to their respective bodies, they were kept being disrupted by the people challenging Oga to a fight but no one was aware of the current switching situation. Luckily, when they returned back to normal, Oga was the only one severely hurt before it got out of hand.
That’s about it! There are more funny moments in the series, we cannot expect a heavy drama out of this. Although there are many more moments I can share with you about the developing relationship between the two, I would rather not over indulge myself to give you a lot of room to explore. Basically, the series is more of episodic, closely similar to how Meitantei Conan works, in a sense that they’ll have certain situations they need to face and it will only take them two or three episodes to resolve them and move on.
Conclusion

To wrap this up, overall, Beelzebub is such an endearing anime not just because of the unique story but also the character design as well. As previously mentioned, the voice casts are top notched. Even the OSTs are pretty good as well. It is written fairly well since it keeps track of its story without acting out of character. The protagonist can be appalling for his actions and can be too overpowered but it is not cheesy like the typical shonen genre does.
The humor of the series is set to match relatable scenarios in real life which I find very interesting. Well, if you won’t have any problems dealing with how they executed the jokes. This is one of the best shonen out there that could really deserve a new season. I’ll be blunt about my frustration regarding the last episode, it felt like it was a bit rushed to be honest, but still nothing beats the entirety of the animator’s effort and for somehow staying true to the original plot despite having fillers. In any way, the fillers themselves are enjoyable to watch and if you agree with me, please give me some insights about what you’ve read and I’ll definitely appreciate it.
