What is Another Filler List?

another

Before I go through the list and talk about Another’s filler episodes, why not talk about what the anime itself is first?

Another is a Japanese fiction thriller horror book written by Yukito Ayatsuji and released by Kadokawa Shoten on the 29th day of October 2009. Between May 2010 and January 2012, Hiro Kiyohara’s manga adaptation was serialized in Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace. P.A. Works aired an anime television series on the 10th day of January 2012, and a live-action feature was released in the summer of 2012.

But What is Another Anime About?

ANOTHER

The plot revolves around a young man named Kichi Sakakibara. He discovers himself amid a mystery whirling around pupils and individuals. The people in his class are dying horrific, needless deaths.

This occurs upon admission to Yomiyama Middle School. He crosses paths with the enigmatic Mei Misaki. Thus, the terrible event in a third-year middle school classroom twenty-six years ago was relevant to their meeting.

Misaki, a famous and accomplished student, died unexpectedly, and the incident’s consequences have resulted in each third-year class living in terror.

Kouichi Sakakibara recently moved into an infamous classroom in 1998. He was intrigued by the enigmatical mystery. The secret his classmates are trying to keep from him.

He is captivated by a mysterious girl named Mei Misaki. She is a shy student with an eye patch who cautions him against engaging with her.

Despite his peers’ protests, he constantly seeks her out. That is when individuals begin to die brutally. The loss upset the pupils and instructor.

They acted as if Misaki were still alive. This resulted in an odd presence in the graduation photograph. Kichi Sakakibara transferred to Yomiyama’s class 3-3 in 1998.

The class is rapidly drawn into a mystery happening. In which kids and their families begin to perish in horrifying ways. They see the connection between these fatalities and the “Misaki of 1972.” Since 1972, an annual tragedy has afflicted practically every class. Kichi and Mei attempt to discover ways to battle it before any of their colleagues are killed.

Another Episodes

1.  Rough Sketch

another

Kichi Sakakibara, whose father is away on business, returns to Yomiyama, where he was born, to be with his grandparents and aunt Reiko Mikami, and spends the first month of his stay in the hospital with a pneumothorax.

Izumi Akazawa, Yukari Sakuragi, and Tomohiko Kazami show up at his house and behave oddly. Kichi encounters Mei Misaki, a strange girl, in the hospital. Once he’s recovered, Mei tells him that Class 9-3 is on the verge of extinction.

2. Blueprint

another

Kichi’s classmate, Naoya Teshigawara, says class 9-3 is cursed. Concerned about Mei yet drawn to her, Kichi questions a hospital nurse about a girl who could have died the night he was released. Sanae confesses that a student died that night, shocking Kichi. He enters a secret doll shop and meets Mei, who intends to reveal to Kichi what’s behind her eyepatch.

3. Bone Work

another

Mei admits one of her eyes is a toy’s eye. That same year, a student named Misaki died, but the class chose to act as if she was still alive, encouraging death. When Kichi asks about the story, his peers ignore it. Misaki Fujioka, Mei’s cousin, died in the hospital. Yukari flees when Mei claims only Kichi can see her. But she stumbles on the stairwell to 9-3 and impales her throat with her umbrella.

4. Put Flesh

another

Kichi saves his classmate Aya from the fallen sheet of glass. “It has already begun,” Mei says at the doll shop. Kichi confronts his peers for not informing him. Sanae approaches him—stating her brother panicked when she asked about Mei and that she didn’t exist. Sanae subsequently takes the elevator, which kills her. Kichi hears about it on his phone.

5. Build Limbs

another

So, his classmates start avoiding him. Mei acknowledges her. After class 9-3, there was usually one more. The “extra” was unconscious. Nobody knew who it was, and no one remembered the “extra” after graduation. To circumvent this, the class ignores one student

6. Face to Face

another

Class 9-3 feels that they would avoid the tragedy by ignoring Kichi and Mei. He and Mei become fast friends as they spend time together. It’s been a year since Kichi was last in Yomiyama, but he tells his father it’s his first visit. Kichi and Mei talk to the librarian, Tatsuji Chibiki, about the curse and the 1972 death of Misaki Yomiyama, a student.

7.  Sphere Joint

another

9-3 homeroom teacher Shiji Kubodera commits suicide in the class. Class recognizes Kichi and Mei again after the “charm” has failed to stop the curse. Katsumi Matsunaga, a past Class 9-3 student, stopped the occurrence in 1983, leaving a hint for future pupils to locate. Mei assures Kichi that he is not the “extra” lost student this year.

8. Hair Stand

another

Yuya, Naoya, Izumi, and Koichi head to a beach to see Katsumi. They depart Yomiyama, confident the curse is ineffectual. Kichi meets Mei on the beach, and the gang has fun. Katsumi reaches them, but he only recalls leaving the hint in the classroom. In Yomiyama, the jinx may not be restricted to Junta’s death by drowning.

9. Body Paint

another

Chibiki confesses Junta died in Yomiyama from a head injury. Kichi finds Katsumi’s clue: a tape recording of a school trip to the Yomiyama Shrine. But something significant occurred. Yya volunteers to mend the tape when Naoya breaks it. Yumi Ogura’s brother dies when a loose vehicle carrying an excavator smashes into his flat, killing Aya’s family.

10. Glass Eye

another

Class 9-3 visits the Yomiyama Shrine to hear the corrected recording. The curse was broken when Katsumi inadvertently murdered one of the pupils and learned no one remembered him. It turns out that Mei’s cousin Fujioka was her twin sister and that her death was a year’s curse! As proof that Kichi is not an “extra,” Mei states her fake eye sees the “color of death.”

11. Makeup

another

Kichi discovers the manager dead, the dining hall ablaze, and the tape missing. The mad hotel mistress attacks Naoya and Yya. She sees a difference between Misaki and Fujioka and thinks Mei is the “extra one.” After Takako accidentally releases the tape, everyone attempts to kill Mei. Two students died trying to murder Mei, while another one kicks the bucket in a backdraft.

12. Stand by Oneself

ep 12

Tomohiko kills children to get the “extra,” but Izumi recalls Kichi from Yomiyama in 1996. He finds out it’s Reiko, who died in 1996. The curse has revived his memories of Reiko’s funeral in Yomiyama in 1996. He murders her reluctantly but is stunned. Kichi and Mei later recall forgotten memories. Naoya re-tapes a new message for potential victims.

But oh but! Did I mention that Another anime series has an OVA episode right after the 12th episode? Well, here’s a summary of that.

Another OVA

another ova

As Mei prepares to leave Fujioka, she encounters Kichi for the first time.
