Episode 1- Departure
This episode focuses on the afterlife and how Yuzuro Otonashi joins the SSS. It engages the audience with an emotional touch. After Otonoshi’s deadly encounter with the angel, he finds that they can’t die in this world.
The way Yuri explains to him why they are working against the angels makes the first episode more sparkling!
Episode 2- Guild
As the name suggests, this episode revolves around the guild. The SSS members use the guild to make weapons. However, little did they know that the angel knew their whereabouts! Let’s keep the next secret! LOL, because you will surely kill me to spoil it for you!
However, I can give you a hint! The episode becomes a bit heart-touching when Yuri tells Otonashi the reasons why she is against God! As a bonus, you fall for Yuri’s leadership qualities! I can bet on that!
Episode 3- My Song
In this episode, Takeyama, who is a phenomenal hacker, joins the SSS. In short, you’ll feel pleased to watch hacking scenes. I hope we can guess what the hacker is up to? Of course, to hack the details of Angel!
Meanwhile, the plot focuses on Masami Iwasawa and her musical journey. Her life was also a living hell before dying. Poor Soul!
Episode 4- Day Game
Here again, you would love to watch the leadership of Yuri. She plans to recruit the best SSS members in the coming baseball match. Yes, you got that right! The match is against the angel’s team. To find out whether the heroes will win or not, let’s give it a shot!
Episode 5- Favorite Flavor
In this episode, Yuri plans against Angel, and Otonashi becomes her great help. She wanted to drop Angel from her grades. To do so, our coolest hacker does the task! And guess what? They were successful in their plans! Later, the SSS members face a threat when Naoi arrives.
Episode 6- Family Affair
The plot revolves around the bashing between Naoi and the SSS members. Naoi tries his best to give the heroes a tough time. However, I hope we know what happens when someone challenges Yuri.
After a lot of twists and turns, finally, Naoi reveals his sentimental self. But would the heroes neglect his wrongdoings?
Episode 7- Alive
Let me surprise you, there is a new addition to the SSS members. Can you guess who? It’s Naoi! Yes, you heard it right! Later, he helps Otonashi recover his memories through hypnosis. Isn’t that a 360 degrees turn? Okay! That’s what we call an amazing plot!
This is one of the most engaging episodes as it has a lot of twists and emotional scenes. Besides, the entry of a second angel makes this worth watching!
Episode 8- Dancer in the Dark
Episode 8 entangles the otakus with the two angels and their cold fight with each other. Their fight makes the episode a bit thrilling. On the other hand, Yuri and Otonashi look for ways to help the real angel.
Episode 9- In Your Memory
Episode 9 is all about Kanade and Otonashi. It focuses on Otonashi’s dream and the hurdles he faces there. After waking up, he had a different vision of death and life. Later, both Kanade and Otonashi decide to work together on their missions.
Episode 10- Goodbye Days
As both Otonashi and Kanade agreed to help everyone, they target Yui first. They try their best to fulfill Yui’s dreams and to some extent, they become successful in it. However, Yui had the biggest wish and that was to get married. So, who would marry Yui?
Let me spoil it for you! Well, he is…ah! Never mind!
Episode 11- Change the World
The episode begins with the entry of a monster that attacks Naoi. Later in a meeting, the heroes encounter the shadows. The twist begins when the shadows take Takamatsu with them. However, with Kanade’s help, they somehow resolve the matter for the time being!
Episode 12- Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door
The episode starts with Kanade encountering the shadows. But like always, after a lot of heroic fights, Yuri finds a better way to win against the odds. So, here also, the episode is dedicated to Yuri’s struggles and heroic actions!
Episode 13- Graduation
Just like the name depicts, the heroes have their graduation ceremony. Later, everyone says their goodbyes to each other, and after that Otonashi confesses his love to Kanade. However, the episode takes a sad turn when Kanade leaves after simply thanking him.
The awkward moment when you are married to an angel and no matter how scary she is, all you can say is: oh! My wife is an angel…” angel of death”! Oh but, worry not, we can’t see Otonashi saying that!
Episode 14- Another Epilogue
The epilogue shows a girl and a boy who resemble Kanade and Otonashi respectively. The scene creates confusion among the fans as the story ends when Otonashi was about to get close to Kanade. However, we can imagine the best, right?
OVA 1- Stairway to Heaven
You can watch this OVA after episode 4. This OVA focuses on Yuri’s plan that would help her find God. All the CSS members become hyperactive because that was part of Yuri’s plan. Later, the heroes follow an angel hoping that they would somehow find their target. But life is full of surprises, isn’t it?
Imagine angels having a BBQ party at the hell’s gate…all devils be like… it’s kinda normal for us buddies. That sounds funny, right?
Episode 14- Another Epilogue

OVA 2- Hell’s Kitchen
You can watch OVA 2 after episode 2. The episode begins when all the SSS members decide to go on a trip. Later, the villains conspire to avail this opportunity and decide to kill Iwasawa. The episode focuses on the conspiracies of the villains and how the heroes encounter them bravely!
