Naruto and Luffy are two of the most widely known fictional characters out there among anime fans and even non-anime fans worldwide! Both characters are later crafted into becoming the strongest one in their own anime series. But unfortunately, since Naruto and Luffy are in different anime shows, we never really got the chance to see a decisive battle between them. So, this time we’re gonna break it down as to who is more likely to win in a fight between the 7th Hokage, Uzumaki Naruto and future Pirate King, Monkey D. Luffy!!

WHO IS THE STRONGER SHONEN PROTAGONIST!
Naruto Uzumaki and his abilities as a Ninja
Naruto is one of the ninjas from the Village Hidden in the Leaf. In his early days, he was a kid who had no parents at all because they sacrificed their lives for him and sealed the Nine-Tailed Fox in his body making him a Jinchuriki.
He is known to always cause trouble in the Village which is why a lot of people always avoid him until he became a part of Team 7 which consists of Kakashi, their team leader and his teammates, Sakura and Sasuke (Naruto: Episode 3). They were one of the first people who accepted him aside from Iruka and felt a sense of belonging for the first time. Fast forward to several years later, he is now a full-fledged ninja eager to take on everything as a ninja dreaming to become the next Hokage!
Eventually in the story, he became an overpowered ninja and is the strongest among the Genins. He went from learning the basics of Rasengan and experimenting to finding different ways of using it (Naruto, Episode 94). Then, the Rasen Shuriken was born,an evolved form of his Rasengan (Naruto Shippuden, Episode 88).
However, he sometimes tends to go too far especially when his friends get in mortal danger which causes his Nine-Tailed Beast to manifest. During this time, the Nine-Tailed Fox is considered as one of Naruto’s biggest obstacles.No one expected that he will be able to control it in the future.
Naruto even became stronger when he met Killer B, the Jinchuriki of the Eigh Tails. During his training with Killer B, Naruto was able to negotiate and gain the trust of the Nine-Tailed Fox within him and allowed Naruto to borrow its power. This is where Naruto finally unlocks the Kyubi Chakra Mode which coats Naruto’s body of pure chakra of the Nine-Tails (Naruto Shippuden, Episode 247)!
But that’s not it yet because I still haven’t mentioned the Sage Mode which he learned back during the Pain Arc where he was trained by Jiraiya’s former master and the Toad Sage of Mount Myoboku, Fukasaku (Naruto Shippuden, Episode 156)! As Naruto is known for his resourcefulness, he was able to think of using both the Kyubi Chakra Mode along with the Sage Mode at the same time! Just from this, I don’t even know anyone who can top this level of power!

Monkey D. Luffy and his Devil Fruit powers
The one and only Devil Fruit owner of the Gomu Gomu no Mi is of course the aspiring Pirate King, Monkey D. Luffy! Known for being very stubborn when he was a kid, he unknowingly ate a Devil Fruit that changed his life forever (One Piece, Episode 4).
The best thing you can gain from eating a Devil Fruit are supernatural abilities and in Luffy’s case, he can stretch his body like rubber. However, there are consequences to this because a Devil Fruit user will lose its capability to swim so that is already a BIG minus for him!
Since Luffy is also shown to have a big appetite especially when it comes to meat, he can last long in battles as long as he stays away from water areas like the sea, river, or even pools. He was also able to utilize more of his rubber abilities as he unlocks more of his power. Fortunately, they’re pretty easy to remember and he personally called it,.Gears and goes from Gear 2 to Gear 5.
So, Gear 2 raises all of Luffy’s stats when it comes to speed, and power and it is shown that his body appears to heat up first before he throws a barrage of punches to his enemy (One Piece, Episode 272). Gear 3, however, is kind of underwhelming because he only focuses on one body part (usually his arms or feet) and simply enlarges it, but this can be very useful when Luffy faces a large number of enemies (One Piece, Episode 288).
Gear 4 is when things start to get different. This is where his upper body inflates like a balloon and also his arms which are a bit similar to Gear 3 (One Piece, Episode 726). But the big difference is that when using Gear 4, he covers his body with Armament Haki which he learned from Rayleigh.
Now for Gear 5 this is where the true power of Gomu Gomu no Mi awakens! Luffy’s overall stats increase once again with increased speed and enhanced strength (One Piece, Chapter 1044) while using the power of Nika, the Sun God. Unlike in his previous Gears where he needs to pump air to inflate his body, Gear 5 does not require any pumping and allows Luffy to inflate any part of his body he wants! With the Gear 5 transformation he was able to defeat Kaidou, the most challenging enemy he ever faced!

Hokage and Pirate: Naruto vs. Luffy
So now that we’ve broken things down when it comes to the capabilities of Naruto and Luffy, there is still the big question: who wins in a battle between the two? So, let’s talk about it one by one!
Physical Strength
When it comes to physical strength, it is no doubt that Luffy will gain the upper hand due to his ability to extend and inflate his rubber-like body. Not to mention Luffy’s barrage of punches which may get Naruto incapacitated for a while if he gets hit. But if Naruto is able to consistently evade Luffy’s attacks, then he may have a fighting chance after all.
As for Naruto’s physical prowess, he may have been proficient on some taijutsu moves but I don’t think that’s Naruto’s forte when it comes to fighting as he’s more reliant on using Rasengan and his Shadow Clones for diversion.
Speed
When it comes to speed, Naruto will be far difficult to catch and yes, Luffy may also be fast especially in his Gear 5th transformation, but remember that Naruto was able to dodge the Raikage’s attack who is known to be fast as the speed of light (Naruto Shippuden: Episode 282)!
Aside from that, since Naruto is the reincarnation of Asura, he has large reserves of chakra and is known to be far higher than Kakashi’s! You know what this means? He can keep on dodging Luffy’s attacks however long it takes and possibly won’t even take any damage in the long run without getting exhausted!
Techniques
Both have wide variations of abilities that they came up on their own but who gains the upper hand on this? Well then, I think it’s already clear to everyone that it’s Naruto for this one. Shadow Clone Jutsu, Summoning Jutsu, Sage Mode, Kyubi Chakra Mode, he can even use the power of Asura, a god! And don’t forget that Naruto has the ability to create several giant balls of Rasengan that he has no trouble using!
When it comes to Luffy, he also possesses god-like powers due to the fact that his Devil Fruit is actually a Mythical Zoan type called Hito Hito no Mi Model: Nika—which means he can use powers similar to the Sun God, Nika. The big problem for Luffy is when he deactivates this because he becomes very weak and completely loses the ability to fight. Naruto, however, does not have those side effects and can probably fight as long as he wants! Let’s just hope that Naruto doesn’t drag Luffy to the water because that is definitely a Game Over for Luffy’s case.

Conclusion
For this Vs blog, I’ll give the win to Uzumaki Naruto! I still bet that both would give each other a difficult time from getting defeated and if a crossover ever happens in the future, I would really love to see them fight and see who actually wins! But still, this doesn’t mean that Luffy is weak and all because he still remains as one of the strongest anime protagonists you will ever know especially now that he has his Gear 5th recently unlocked!

The first trailer is already available on Youtube and will literally give you goosebumps as you watch it. Release date: August 6, 2021 17. Black Clover Movie Black Clover has been a hit in the anime world and is now getting its first movie! Every single one of us was dreading the day the series would end and knowing that it’s not totally over yet gave us something to look forward to. Unfortunately, the details of the movie are still draped in mystery. Only a short video is available on Youtube giving us an idea about the design and art but nothing concerning the plot. The release date is also unknown. The producers I’m sure are having a blast bottling up the excitement of the fans waiting to see their reaction when the suspense will end. A teaser trailer is now available for fans to watch and new posters that are just gorgeous. With the anime coming to an end, it is nice to know that we get some extra time with The Seven Deadly Sins. Release Date: July 2, 2021 13. Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma☆Illya This movie takes place in a Fate/stay night alternate universe. Illyasviel, an ordinary girl is granted magic power after the magical Kaleidostick Ruby acknowledges her as her new master. She is now tasked with the collection of the seven Class Cards containing the Heroic Spirits. Accompanied by the former master of the Kaleidostick, Rin, they encounter during their journey the master and former master of the Kaleidostick Sapphire who turns out to be their respective rivals. Only a teaser trailer is available till now and can confirm one thing, amazing visuals are waiting for us. MAPPA is pouring his heart and soul into the creation of this sequel movie. The official trailer premiere is expected to be released in the upcoming month. Hang tight, the wait is almost over and will certainly be worth it. Release date: TBA 8. Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash Gundam just celebrated its 40th anniversary. To celebrate with all the fans of the iconic series they are producing a Trilogy. Yes, you read right, this movie will be the first out of three. The project should’ve been released in 2020 but was delayed to the COVID-19 crisis. But production is looking to make up for the lost time in 2021. The upcoming movie is said to be very different from the other, in a good way. It will follow the spiritual successor Amuro and Char of the original series but a new protagonist will make his entrance, we have yet to determine if he will be on to the good side or the evil one. The author isn’t going to stop surprising us with his elaborate skims and prodigious deduction skills any time soon. But the event will not go as the hosts had hoped since the top executives are being kidnaped one after another. It falls on Conan to find the culprit in the limited time that he has on his hands. Greatly outnumbered, they were all ready to sacrifice their lives to defend their home.
