GOGETA VS VEGITO!! This battle has been going on for centuries. Nah! Just kidding! But yeah, fans have been arguing over this topic for a decade at least. There are mixed views among the fandom on which character is stronger.

Well! If you look at it rationally, both of them are combinations of Goku and Vegeta. Sooo, there shouldn’t be any difference, right? But wait! There are some major differences and we’ll take a look at them in this blog.
Without any further ado, let’s begin!!
In case you haven’t watched DBZ, here is the watch order……..Dragon Ball Watch Order!
GOGETA VS VEGITO: WHO WOULD WIN IN A ONE-ON-ONE?
Who is Gogeta?
In case you have been living under a rock and don’t know who Gogeta is and when he was introduced, I’ll explain it a bit.
Gogeta is one of the most popular characters in the Dragon Ball Franchise and was canonically introduced during the movie, Dragon Ball Super: Broly. It is basically a combination of Goku and Vegeta and so the name, Gogeta.
Before the movie, Gogeta was a non-canon character, and fans had always wanted it to become canon. You might be wondering, how do Vegeta and Goku combine though?
Well! For them to combine, there is an ancient dance known as the Fusion Dance. Goten and Trunks were the first ones to perform this weird dance and combine to become Gotenks. In this form, their powers got multiplied and they were able to achieve the Super Saiyan 3 form, even though none of them has achieved it individually. (Dragon Ball Z Episode 251)
This fusion takes the power levels of the two individuals and basically multiplies them. They can even access forms they haven’t individually, just like Goten and Trunks.
Goku and Vegeta felt the need to perform this dance during the movie when Broly was overpowering them, and there was no way to defeat him. They absolutely demolished Broly with Gogeta and would’ve killed him if he didn’t get teleported. (Dragon Ball Super: Broly)
This form might seem all high and mighty, but there are some drawbacks as well. First of all, there is a time limit. They can only remain combined for just 30 mins and will separate after that. And if you’re fighting someone like Broly, then you’re DEAD!!!
Secondly, the fusion dance is really difficult to perform and if done wrong can lead to some serious consequences. Instead of getting powered up, you become totally useless. And you’ll have to wait for 30 mins to detach and then perform the dance again.
Who is Vegito?
Just like Gogeta, Vegito is another fusion form of Goku and Vegeta. However, unlike Gogeta, Vegito has appeared multiple times in the anime and we know a lot more about him as compared to Gogeta.
Vegito was first introduced during the Buu Saga. After absorbing Gotenks and Ultimate Gohan, Buu was basically INVINCIBLE!! There was no other way to defeat him other than fusion. Well! They could have performed the fusion dance, but as I’ve already explained, it can get a bit tough to perform.
Soooo, they decide to fuse using the Potara Earrings. What are Potara Earrings? These are magical earrings used by the Supreme Kai to combine. Earth’s supreme kai had given Goku a pair in case they needed it to defeat Buu. Vegeta was a bit hesitant at first, however, after some time, he agreed. (Dragon Ball Z Episode 268)
In this form, Vegeta and Goku were able to overpower Super Buu initially, but because of their stupidity, they got absorbed. And Inside Buu, they returned back to their original forms.
The second time we saw Vegito was during the Future Trunks saga when our heroes were facing off against Fused Zamasu. Vegeta hesitated a bit this time as well. This time around the fusion lasted a little longer and Vegito was able to overpower Zamasu. However, Zamasu’s immortality made it difficult for them to finish him off. And when they tried to power up some more, the fusion wore off. (Dragon Ball Super Episode 66)
Unlike Gogeta, the power-up mechanism for Vegito is not that simple. Ofc it multiplies Goku and Vegeta’s power levels. But, we haven’t seen the full extent of it, as it always wears off before Vegito can power up some more.
Like Gogeta, there is a power limit for this fusion as well. Well! For Supreme Kais, there is no time limit. However, for mortals, there is a time limit of 1 hour and the fusion can wear out if you manage to overpower it somehow.
Who Will Win in a Fight?
Now, it’s about time we decide who will win if they were to go all out.
There is a clear difference in the time limit for these two characters. Gogeta can remain fused for just 30 min and on the other hand, Vegito’s time limit is 1 hour. So, if the battle stretches too long, it’s a clear win for Vegito.
Talking about their persona…. Even though they are fusions of the same two characters, there is a huge difference between their mindsets.
Vegito is the type of character who likes to play with his opponents first and doesn’t get serious unless the situation demands it. Gogeta, on the other hand, gets serious from the get-go. It doesn’t matter if he’s fighting a strong opponent or a weaker one, he’ll try to finish the fight ASAP!
It would be pointless to compare them on the basis of physical strength, speed, form, etc cuz both of them are basically the same. The things that make a difference are the methods of fusion and the time limit.
Vegito is the clear winner if the fight goes on for too long as his fusion lasts longer than Gogeta’s.
Now, here is a thing. Vegito has never managed to defeat any of his opponents completely. Yes! He does manage to overpower them in the beginning, but after some time, the fusion wears off. On the other hand, Broly was absolutely destroyed by Gogeta.
We also saw this during Vegito’s battle against Zamasu that when he utilizes his full potential, the time limit of fusion significantly lowers. While Gogeta can tap into his full potential whenever he needs and he won’t have to worry about any time limit.
Conclusion
From what we’ve seen, Gogeta would win this battle with a high difference. Why? Even though Vegito’s time limit is greater, he cannot tap into his full potential, otherwise, his fusion will wear off. Even if he tries to stretch the fight, he won’t be able to do it for too long against a fighter like GOGETA!
Gogeta will absolutely destroy him!!!
Let me know what you guys think. I’m pretty y’all agree with me cuz GOGETA IS THE GOAT!!!

I would like to add that Gogeta’s time limit can also decrease the more he powers up. This detail comes from Gotenks, who lost his 30 minute time limit when he went ssj3 against Buu. Both fusions lose time the more they power up, so in an actual battle, Gogeta would need to finish Vegito quickly to actually win. Also, all of Gogeta’s appearances have been in movies during the final act, so of course, he would need to finish off his opponent. That’s what the plot calls for. I think Vegito wins, but it’s definitely a close fight.
