It was revealed on Monday, July 16, in the 32nd issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba by Gotouge is getting a new Novel that is releasing on July 16.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Novel
The title of the novel is “Kimetsu no Yaiba Novelize: Yukaku Sennyu Daisakusen-hen (Operation Infiltrate the District Arc)”. Shuka Matsuda, who is also the writer of the novel “Seven Deadly Sins: Seven Scars they Left Behind” shall be writing the novel. The illustrations will be provided by Gotouge himself.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has inspired 4 novels in the past, all by Aya Yajima. The new novel is said to reveal the events that the manga volumes 8-11 covered. The second season of the anime will also reveal the same events. The second season for the anime will be releasing late this year.

Background
The manga for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba was originally launched in February 2016 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. It was compiled in 23 tankoubon chapters. The manga ended in May 2020. An anime series was inspired by the manga and it was broadcasted from April 6, 2019 to September 28, 2019. The series consisted of a total of 26 episodes.
A sequel film for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba titled Kimetsu was released in October 2020 that topped the charts in Japan. It also became the highest grossing anime movie in Japan.

Story
The story of the anime follows Tanjiro Kamado who had to shoulder the responsibility of his family after the death of his father. One day, he decides to go downhill to sell some charcoal. When he’s done for the day, night falls and he decides to stay at the house of a mysterious man nearby. The man warned Tanjiro of the human flesh eating monsters that exist all around.
Tanjiro leaves in the morning and reaches his home. To his surprise, his whole family had been slaughtered by a bloodthirsty demon, Muzan. The only survivor is his sister who had turned into a demon. However, she has some of her human nature retained inside her. Now, Tanjiro must become a Demon Slayer to vanish all the flesh-eating demons from the face of the earth. He also must travel, find the cure to Nezuko’s disease and turn her back to a human.
