I know there’s a lot of you out there that are into the genre called drama aren’t ya? Well, today is definitely your lucky day! Because this anime that I am about to explain is really really amazing and very unique. When I first read the manga of Blue Period, I got so interested in it that I started reading it every day and got a little too addicted to it lmao!
Did I forget to mention that drama with a school theme is just a masterpiece and trust me, you really can’t disagree with that , can you ? Lmao!

This anime isn’t like most others where the MC is just super good at stuff or art from the very beginning of the anime, but this anime is quite different because our MC slowly becomes better at arts day by day, and what’s more exciting is to see how he passes his daily life!
Blue Period is an anime that follows the story of a young boy by the name of Yatora Yaguchi, who is tired of his normal boring life and wants to do something he’s interested in but, the thing is… He doesn’t know what he’s interested in yet. He tries looking for a new passion but nothing grabs his attention until one day, he sees a drawing and that’s what grabbed his attention the most.
Now, art is what he wants to do and wants to make it his passion. He becomes extremely interested in the different colors used in several drawings. This one is a really great anime, not gonna lie!

Yatora Yaguchi
Hmm, yes, I will start with our MC first then rest lmao!
Yatora Yaguchi is a high-schooler with no particular passion at first until he gets interested in art and gets a little too addicted to it. He has medium height and platinum blonde hair. He has yellow eyes and wears contact lenses sometimes.
He is quite predictable and dull at the same time, he has extraordinary high grades. Maru Mori, I will explain about her in a bit but she is actually the one who invited Yatora to the art’s club and that’s how he got addicted to art’s so much that he made it his passion, so meaning if she wouldn’t have invited him, this anime wouldn’t have been possible or would it? Lmao! He is a hardworking one too and he is trying to get into Tokyo University of Arts.

Koigakubo
Koigakubo is a friend of our MC, Yatora Yaguchi.
He has short and thin eyes and smooth and flattened type back hair too. There’s not much about this character I can tell though so that’s sad.

Utashima
He is also a friend of Yatora.
Utashima has average height and short messy black hair with his glasses. We always have that one carefree guy in our friend group don’t we?
Well, you guessed it, Utashima is a carefree person and gets easily carried away with cute appearances. He also didn’t want to go to university and said that he failed the entrance exams and then decided to work as a barista, rather than trying again and again to get a new and better job.
This character first appeared in Chapter 1 and their birthday is on March 28th.
Sumida
Now damn, I am jealous. Yatora has such amazing and good friends! Because… Sumida is also Yatora’s friend!
Sumida is a short guy with choppy small hair. He is not the type of friend that doesn’t care about their friends but he is someone that really cares about his friends.
This character first appeared in Chapter 1 and their birthday is on April 14.
Umino
He’s just Umino.
Just kidding! There’s not much given about this character yet but all I know is that he is in the art club with Yatora and has black hair and thin and small eyes.
This character first appeared in Chapter 1 and their birthday is on June 1.
Maru Mori
He is a supporting character with Analytic abilities.
Ryuji Ayakawa
Ryuki Aykawa is Yatora’s classmate and she is the one who invited him to the art club. She also specializes in Japanese art too.
Ryuji Ayukawa is tall and she has pale skin. She has blonde hair which are extremely long, as they stretch all the way to her waist. She sometimes wears a skirt with a boy’s uniform blazer. She is a little different than others I guess!
She is super close to her grandmother so that’s the reason why she decided to do Japanese art. She will try not to look sad sometimes despite her being in stressful situations.
This character first appeared in Chapter 1 and their birthday is on October 8.
Shirai
Shirai has black hair and blue eyes. She wears glasses too and she also has pale skin and average height.
Ryuji Ayakawa
Shirota has dirty blonde hair and green eyes. She has average height and her hair is also very long.
Yamamoto
Yamamoto has average height and yellow eyes. She has small hair.

Sae Okada is a student of the cram school that Yatora attends.
She is small when it comes to height and has large black eyes. She also has a mushroom haircut. She also shows great interest in bones at the museum.

Hanako Sakuraba is a student at Yatora’s cram school.
She is tall when it comes to her height and has brown hair that reaches her shoulders. She usually wears her school uniform.
She is also a quiet one and doesn’t really talk too much with her fellow classmates.
Takuro Ishi
Takurou Ishii has short height and he is also bald and he’s quite a healthy one too so that’s a good thing!
Yotasuke Takahashi
Yotasuke Takahashi is a former student of the school that Yatora studied at and he is now a student at Tokyo University of Art. He is also known as Sekai-Kun.
Sekai-Kun is a boy who is small in height and he also has short black hair. He also has beauty marks underneath each of his eyes. He has dark greenish type eyes and his eyebrows are also thin too.
He likes to wear an apron while painting and likes to wear long-sleeved yellow color shirts with his pair of jeans and sneakers when he is not painting.
Yotasuke’s first appearance was when he used to be in the school where Yatora studied. Yotasuke also shocked Yatora at first with his art skills even though he was very new to the arts.
But soon, he got extremely bored and tired of the so-called exam arts and left the school. However, sadly Yatora forgot to keep in contact with him and because of that, they weren’t able to keep in contact with each other for a long time until one day, they somehow happened to run into each other!
What a sudden surprise lmao!
They both started hanging out for a while before the Gedai exams happened and when the Gedai exams actually happened, surprisingly Yotasuke passed the exam!
And at last, they both got accepted by the Oil painting department at Gedai, which means that they can now hang out any time! Wew this one was longer than I thought it would be lmao!
Other Characters
Haruka Hashida
Haruka Hashida is a former student of the school that Yatora studied at and now, he is a student at Tama Art University.
Haruka Hashida has black hair with his cool long braids and he’s also quite tall and slim too.
He likes to wear a lab coat while painting and he wears a black shirt and light grey color pants when he is not painting.
Haruka is weird and people also call him strange due to his obsession with art. He likes to annoy his fellow classmates but he still hangs out with them and he is quite a friendly one even though he is annoying at the same time too lmao!
He also acts as a cheerful person. Haruka first appeared in Chapter 6. It was also shown later that when he was at the Geidai Festival, he knew a lot more people than Yatora does even though he doesn’t attend school anymore.
When Yotasuke left the school because he was sick of creating exams and because of that, Haruka regarded him as spoiled.
Maki Kuwana
Maki Kuwana is a former student of the school that Yatora studied at.
She has black hair that reaches up to her shoulders and she also has brown color at the bottom of her hair and she also has large red eyes with her earrings.
She likes to wear a jumpsuit while painting or drawing and wears a button shirt with a tie and a short skirt with her black stockings.
Maki is an energetic one but that doesn’t change the fact that she feels worthlessness towards her older sister, making her extremely emotional and reducing her self-confidence. Despite all that, she cares a lot for others and shares her food with them sometimes.
Maki’s family are successful artists. Her older sister passed the exam test at Geidai University on her first try too but Maki dealt with a lot of issues during that time and she also managed to get 1st place in the school ranking.
Amo Nekoyashiki
Amo Nekoyashiki is one of the professors at the Tokyo University of Arts.
Amo is short when it comes to height. She has long hair with two different colors forming a gradient as her top hair is dark shaded and her bottom hair is light shaded, there are also sparkles on her hair. She also wears a headband that creates the letter M, not to mention that she has big black eyes too.
Nekoyashiki is cheerful but she is known for something strange. She is known for being the nastiest person in their department and do you wanna know why? Here’s why!
When it comes to reviewing the art, she becomes nasty and she becomes really harsh on her students but that does help her students to improve too.
Rosie
Momoya Kakinnokizaka
She is a student of Tokyo University of Arts along with Yatora. She is also known as Momo-chan.
Momo-chan has medium height and pink hair with dark purple color shades at the end and not to mention her 2 long and high braids. She has bright mint color eyes and her pupils sometimes make a shape of a dot or sometimes the eyes make the shape of +.
She usually wears a sleeveless turtleneck top with her jacket on top. She also wears loose overalls when painting.
Oh, wait! I forgot to mention that she also has piercings on her tongue and her ears!
Kinemi Miki
Kinemi Miki is a student at Geidai university.
She is a girl with blonde hair and pink colored eyes. She is also tall and not to mention that she has a decent amount of physical strength. She usually wears a short-sleeved shirt with her jeans.
She is a very positive girl who tries her best to achieve her goals in life.
Ayano Aizawa
Kinemi Miki is a student at Geidai university.
She is a girl with blonde hair and pink colored eyes. She is also tall and not to mention that she has a decent amount of physical strength. She usually wears a short-sleeved shirt with her jeans.

Shoko Saeki
One of the main characters of the series, Jisuk is the younger brother of the leader of the Shinhwa Association. Compared to the people of his generation, he can be considered the most powerful among them. He uses Aerokinesis and is attending Awakened Academy as a representative of the Shinhwa Association (Manga: Chapter 16).
Being overly talented isn’t always a good thing. Jisuk was always treated differently than others because of his abilities and ended up always alone. After the death of his parents, people inside the association started pushing him into challenging his own sister over the position of the seat of Head of the group.
The first person who ever had the guts to stand up to his and didn’t see him as superior was Jiwoo, after their first encounter, he was the only person he considered a true friend.
Mayu Ooba
Mayu Ooba is an instructor at Yatora’s cram school and helps students prepare for their art school’s entrance exam.
She is surprisingly really tall and can easily reach the door frames top. She has short black hair and small thin eyes. She also likes to wear an apron. I don’t know why lmao!
She is a wise and carefree teacher. She is also very loud but she cares a lot for her students. She also says animal trivia when she is having a stressful time.
This character first appeared in Chapter 5 and their birthday is on December 30.
Sakurai
Sakurai is a staff at Gedai and an assistant from the Fresco Department.
If we compare her with other teachers, let me tell you this…
She’s quite small. She also has short hair that barely reaches her ears and she likes to wear dangling earrings for some reason that I don’t know lmao!
Tsukinoki
Tsukinoki is a professor at the oil painting department.
Yumesaki
Yumesaki is a staff member at Gedai.
He has short back hair and wears normal-looking t-shirts usually.
Maria Hanakagi
Maria Hanakage is a professor at Gedai.
Maria has maroon pinkish type hair and short fringes. She is a carefree girl who invited both Yatora and Yotasuke for food and had a drink with them when they first met each other, despite her being their professor.

Last but not least, conclusion. I know most of you out there are saying that there should be more information given about this character and stuff like that but lemme stop you there!
I tried my best to give as much information on a specific character as possible but the problem is that some of the characters mentioned on this list have no information given and because of that I didn’t manage to give you guys information on all of them!
But still, I tried my best though!
