Makima, The Ultimate Stalker

She built him a whole world. She gave him a cool job, she gave him a good load of money, she fed him and patted him like a dog, she even gave him the family he never had, a protective big brother, Aki and a turbulent completely crazy young sister, Powers who he engaged in incest with… Oops, I bet that wasn’t in her plans (Chainsaw Man Manga: Chapter 82).
She did all that to give him ultimate happiness, all he ever wanted, even gave into all his ecchi fantasies only to destroy it all in the most horrible way.
She turned Aki into the Gun Devil and made Denji kill him, she killed Power right in front of him while she was delivering his first Birthday Cake. She forced him to open the shut door that was dwelling in his mind by revealing to him that he was the one who killed his own father (Chainsaw Man Manga: Chapter 82).
But why go into all that length? Why is Denji so special? Or the biggest question would be who or what is Denji exactly? Why is a Chainsaw Devil so powerful? I mean a Chainsaw is scary but not to the point of making anyone pee their pants.

Pochita, More than a Cute Pet
What do we know about Pochita? He is a gentle dog-like devil that made a contract with Denji when he was young. When Denji died, killed by the Zombie Devil, he sacrificed his life to become his master’s heart, giving him a whole new life. And actually, that’s it, Pochita’s story ends here.
And yet, Makima is a fan of his… A fan, of a dog… Okay, now I’m 100% sure Pochita is hiding his true identity. Please Makima, can you do the honor of revealing the truth to the fans, just so they don’t continue to believe you have a loose screw (Chainsaw Man Manga: Chapter 84).
In Hell, Chainsaw Man is actually quite a famous figure, Makima refers to him as “The Hero of Hell”
The embodiment of chaos, he used to roam through hell cutting down every single devil he would come across, his presence was accompanied by the smell of blood, he was the most feared Devil of hell.
You can cut him into thousands of pieces, you can turn his body to ashes, you can eat his organs but he will always stand packed up to the beat of his engine and in style with the latest intestine scarf of the fashion world.
He wasn’t feared just because he was strong and stubborn, he was feared because any demon he would eat would just cease to exist (Chainsaw Man Manga: Chapter 84). By consuming the physical representation of the fear, he erases the fear itself. Their name would disappear from the face of the earth as if it was never there to begin with.
He fought countless devils, eradicated so many names, and so many fears, he even went up against the Four Horsemen all by himself.
Yup, he fought Makima once before and utterly destroyed her even, I think that’s when the masochist fell in love with the monster. Beauty and the Beast 2.
But what’s even cooler is that he did all that with his own strength! While other demons are used to consuming their own kind to steal their power, Chainsaw Man doesn’t have that ability. He never powered up. His achievement owes them all to his very own destructive talent which comes from the only fear devils have.
And now we can see why Makima is head over heels for him and when I say him, I mean Pochita, not his human host.
The Birth of Chainsaw Man
Now a question just popped into my head… how was he born? We all know that devils are created from the fear of humans, but the chainsaw is a devil that erases fear. Were humans afraid of being afraid?
That doesn’t sound right, the answer is a bit more ironic, devils who are the representation of fear should not be afraid of anything. They aren’t even afraid of death since they will just end up reincarnating.
They are just terrified that people might one day stop being afraid which means that Chainsaw was created by the fear of the devils and this is why he fights against them and not humans.
OR, what if he was in fact born from our fears, the fear of being forgotten? That would actually make him a Primal Devil just like the Four Horsemen.
So the “Fear Extinction devil” or the “Be Forgotten Devil”? Which one suits your taste?
The Plan of the Ultimate Stalker
We got sidetracked, sorry about that, let’s get back to business. Do you know how Makima’s power works? She can take control of anyone that thinks himself inferior to her.
While Denji sure thought that, the devil inside him didn’t and the only way to make him fall under her control is to win a fight against him (Chainsaw Man Manga: Chapter 84).
She wanna use him to create a better world, make hunger, war and even death disappear, but she lost to him once before. What makes her believe that she has a chance now?
She just doesn’t care about the outcome, both scenarios would be bliss for her . It would be an honor to be eaten by the Chainsaw Man. That way she can become one with him. Didn’t she say it before… She’s a fan of his! (Chainsaw Man Manga: Chapter 84)
Conclusion
Don’t spit, don’t wear clothing, don’t talk, everything you do should be chaotic and this is how you become Makima’s, ideal man. Okay, no, she’s not that superficial. Her obsession is still way too deep, way too dark to just attribute it to likeness.
You know what I think, I think it’s all related to that Hero of Hell title. While we know that there was a huge war in hell long ago, the only thing we could conclude from the event is that some devils ended up worshiping Chainsaw man, others began to fear him like the plague and the rest hate him with all their might.
He was on a quest to save his world, however, he decided who to save and who to get rid of. While he saved the Shark Devil and Angel Devil by killing them with his own hands to allow them to reincarnate on Earth, he also made sure to erase troublesome demons like the Nazi Devil, the Nuclear Weapon Devil, and such.
Makima might have been one of the Devil he saved or maybe she was just moved by his actions, or maybe something else we don’t know about marked her.
Well, I think that now that the War Devil is back and kicking after almost being erased by Chainsaw, we will get a clearer picture of the Void War of Hell History.
